We refused to pay this additional cost and asked that our furniture be returned. After months of promising to return it he surprised us be saying the repairs had been made. Upon returning the furniture, almost a year later he proceeded to tell us he would not recommend sitting in the furniture because it may not hold. I told him if I had known this I would not have had him do any of the work, which I also told him not to do. After i complained he changed his tune to say it would be okay to sit in. I am completely disappointed with this whole event and certainly will not be using him again.

Instead of ordering a new set from Lovesac, we brought our cushions to House of Foam for new filling. For the same cost as the Lovesac replacement, we got high quality foam inserts that should last for the next 20 years. The location is central, but the Google directions are inaccurate, so I got pretty lost trying to find the place. Use the address for ABC Party Rental when using Google directions. The light industrial space is shared with a car audio place. Go to the back to find the House of Foam staff. There's nothing glamorous about the space, but they get the job done. We were offered the chance to buy a warranty for the foam, but declined. We're extremely happy with the decision to replace the cushions with quality inserts from House of Foam.

This all started when my sister gifted some beautiful antique furniture to my husband and me. My sister's father-in-law had been an antiques dealer in New York City; all the pieces were solid wood, hand-made in Poland, and over a hundred years old. Sadly, the dining room table and chairs were in pretty bad shape. To complicate matters, the dining table had a hidden leaf in it, which caused the height of the table-top to be unusually high. Oddly, the chairs were rather low, thus making the dining experience less than comfortable. I called Joseph's Refinishing & Upholstery and set up an appointment with one of their representatives, Suzzanne. She came to our house and while we discussed possible new fabrics for the chairs, one of my primary concerns was addressing the table and chair height issue. I felt very positive about some of Suzzanne's ideas, so I arranged for Joseph's to pick up all the pieces (the table, a very large zebra-wood sideboard, 6 dining chairs, 2 club chairs, and two beautiful console tables). I was most impressed with the team effort with which Joseph's responded! The store owner and several of the skilled carpentry staff met with me to see what I would like done, and then they proceeded to deconstruct the table to figure out if and how the total height of the table could be lowered. With the chairs, they suggested putting in new springs and using firm cushioning rather than changing any of the wood framing. What really struck me about Suzzanne and the staff at Joseph's was how much they cared about their work and wanted to succeed in creating the vision I had for the furniture. I was truly grateful that they kept me in the loop every step of the way, and I appreciated their insights on stains and finishes for the wooden pieces. Suzanne was the genius behind the fabric selections... she came to the house with fabric books; I went to the store to peruse more; I brought more books home.... It was a fun, collaborative and creative process. I cannot tell you how much the finished dining room takes my breath away! I have a strong appreciation of fine art and architecture, and I can honestly say the dining room is like a work of art unto itself and, in fact, anchors the artwork in the rest of the house. Guests to the house express their amazement at how striking the furniture is! Needless to say, the creative and technical processes took several months. I consider it time well invested. The craftsmanship of the work is excellent, not just on the woodwork but also in the quality of the upholstering. I'm also happy to support a local business. Yes, it would have been much easier and faster to go to a furniture or department store, but I prefer to enjoy the handcrafted, unique finished pieces I now have.
