wow! I don't even know where to start! From the minute you walk through the door, you're greeted with someone offering to take all your things for you. You are then offered a drink and you take a seat in the waiting area. You then get to go and take a seat and have your makeup and hair professionally done! the girl I had (kaylee maybe) was beyond amazing with me! She was asking me like what makeup I was comfortable with, giving me her views on what she thinks will work. as she was doing my makeup she was constantly asking me if I was okay and complimenting me. Then we went on to my hair and she Told me what she thought would look nice and work, which I happily agreed with and let her just take the lead. And the outcome of my hair and makeup was amazing! I felt amazing, it was a good start to making me feel more confident for my shoot. and the shoot... wow! My photographer came and got me and took me to the room, she grabbed my things and carried them over. She asked like what outfits I had, how they would work and things and then she basically just worked her magic. She made me feel AMAZING! Constantly saying how good I looked, how the photos were looking and things. I would highly recommend! I've never done anything like this before but it has definitely made me feel more confident about myself and just feel overly incredible! Thank you to everyone! read more

Brilliant experience and lovely staff.. The ONLY reason I've not given 5 stars is the pressure to have 'dad' in the photos when booking, it really should be optional and our choice being our experience. It's not always convenient for 'dad' to be around or may not even be on the scene. Maybe bear this in mind so people don't feel pressured or embarrassed by it. My sister-in-law dropped out of the experience for this reason- having 2 dads to her 4 children, she just wanted one of them yet she was told it wasn't an option. Custom was lost and she was upset that she wasn't given a choice, also felt slightly humiliated. Otherwise you guys are very welcoming and easy to talk to, very happy with our photos too read more

I absolutely loved my photoshoot with Clifton photography. Initially I was a bit nervous as I've never done a photoshoot before. My nerves was eased completly when I walked into the shop. I had a lovely welcoming by the manager. I was offered drinks and was able to look through the books. I was then taken into hair and makeup. She made sure I had the makeup and hair that I wanted and was very chatty. I then met the photographer which was lovely. She helped me gain confidence and helped me into all the positions for the photos. I was then shown the photos. I loved how they placed music while showing me the photos. There was no pressure to buy the big packages. Honestly would recommend this place to anyone read more

Amazing pictures! Amy the photographer was super sweet and very patient with my 2 months old baby. Tim was very helpful when we went to see the pictures and choose the ones we wanted to purchase. He made the process very easy. The only reason I'm not giving it 5 stars is the price. I think more affordable offers should be available when you purchase certain number of pictures. Thanks for the beautiful memories! read more

If it looks too good to be true, that's because it is... I purchased a £30 voucher for a family photo shoot from a very persuasive salesperson at Cribbs Causeway. She emphasised that this package was worth £145 and I would also get a free framed photo (5" x 5"). I asked twice about the prices of photos; she avoided the question both times, saying "there's something for all budgets". When it came to booking, I was asked to pay a £50 deposit. When I asked again about prices, I was told they "started at £80 for a 5x5 photo, going up to several thousand pounds for the full package." It quickly became apparent that the photos were prohibitively expensive so I cancelled my booking. After I shared my social media posts, I was contacted by the company, received an apology and was offered a refund. However, I was asked to remove my negative feedback, which I am not prepared to do. My experience is by no means an isolated one, and yet no action has been taken to address these concerns. Clifton Photographic points out that they email a price list to clients after they have booked (I didn't receive one due to an admin error). The simplest solution, therefore, is to give customers a copy of this price list before they book. Why is this not being done? read more

my Mrs and I got the "VIP Experience package" Good entry offer to get you through the door but then the photos where bad angles, we felt rushed, where spoken to rudely, the photos where edited badly so we looked like ghosts and they wanted £600!!! for all the photos on a disc then and there otherwise they would delete them! I don't like to complain or put a business down but don't want people to be ripped off like we where =S read more

Hard selling and upsetting! My 11 year daughter and I purchased their special promotions for £30 at the Cotswold Show. A week before our makeover/photography I was telephoned to say they wanted £60 over the phone as a deposit (this was NEVER mentioned before and itn't in any of the paperwork they gave me). The makeover was fine (although very heavy coverage done on both my 11 year old and I despite saying we wanted a very natural appearance) and photographer was pleasant. Afterwards, we were taken into a small room and they tried hard to sell a £600 package. I explained I only want a couple of small photos ontop of the free 7x5 that was suppose to be included in the package but I didn't feel I was being listened to. I was told we could only review the photos for a few minutes today and then they would no longer be available. It was very intimidating. My daughter was reduced to tears by the whole experience. We left without choosing our 'free' 7x5 and I'm not sure how easy it's going to be to get my deposit returned. It was suppose to be a lovely day but we'll never forget it for all the wrong reasons. read more

My husband bought me a family photo shoot for £40 for Clifton Photographic and I have to say it was the worse experience of my life... High pressure selling environment and we felt extremely uncomfortable at "the viewing" of the pictures. We had no idea how ridiculously expensive they were until the viewing and were told if we didn't purchase the pictures on the day we could add another 20% on to the already crazy prices!!! We didn't want our lovely pictures to just be deleted and felt we had no choice but to purchase two picture frames in order to reach the minimum amount of £1000 to then be able to get the images on a memory stick. The whole experience has put us off anything like this but I am sure there are other photo company's out there who charge far less but still give you high quality pictures without ripping you off. Be warned.... read more

This company scammed me by offering a competition on Facebook to win a 'free' makeover and photographic session. Once I was called (the same day) to be told I'd 'won', I was asked for a £39.99 deposit which I was assured would be refunded after the photo shoot. When the letter with the details arrived, it said that the appointment cannot be cancelled but may be postponed. It is illegal to charge someone to claim a prize. I am writing to them to point this out and should probably report them to the Trading Standards authority. Even without this issue, their prices are completely over the top - probably double what other photographers would charge. read more

Upselling is their main game. The photoshoot was good, but then the day had a downer put on it when we were told that the terms state that all 'adults' must come to the photo viewing despite us saying a few times that that wouldn't be possible, however this didn't seem to sink in. We are a family of 5 adults. This then suddenly changed to be both parents had to come to the viewing. We couldn't have both parents attend as one parent works away alot, as well as all of us being busy with our own jobs, so it ended up only my mum and myself attending. Upon arrival we were told about these 'terms' over and over and over again, despite us having travelled 40 minutes to get there. We kept saying that both parents couldn't be there, plus we are ALL adults, but they kept repeating themselves. It made the viewing session feel very hostile. Upon checking their website, I couldn't find anywhere that stated 'both parents must attend the session'. The photos are extremely expensive also. It's a shame as the photography and staff are actually really lovely, the company just doesn't have the right attitude towards selling their products. read more

Positives: Friendly front-of-house staff, likewise makeup staff and photographer. Negatives: Pushy sales staff, extortionate prices (£60 for a stamp-sized hard copy of a single photo, or £85 for a single digital download - they're having a laugh!). Despite lovely makeup staff, the makeup itself was dire: looked like something a 5-year old let loose with her mother's makeup bag for the first time might have achieved - despite telling the staff I wanted light, neutral colours, ended up with thick black bodged eyeliner, very dark coloured makeup, and hair which looked like I had had a bucket of water tipped over my head - limp, lank lifeless and which I haven't been able to sort out despite numerous hair washing since then. The makeup itself has left me with red, sore, dry facial skin, and sore, itching and running eyes, despite removing it all the minute I got home. You are expected to turn up without wearing any makeup before the session (an ordeal in itself for some women, including me) but to be quite frank I'd rather have gone home again without wearing makeup, rather than having to display the hideous result I ended up with. Part of the deal was also a makeup bag containing a selection of makeup to your choice of colour - my friend and I had to remind them of that, and had a paper carrier bag thrust at us, containing not the neutral colours we had specified, but a makeup palette containing a ghastly selection of black, grey and purple eye colours, black eyeliner, and a lip gloss and nail varnish in a nondescript peach - none of this is going to end up on my face or nails! The photos themselves were not at all flattering - they were all obviously posed and look thoroughly artificial - I've had better ones taken by family and friends. So, although I know some people are pleased with the end result of these makeover days - please be warned that it might not turn out to be what you expected. I have had to give a 1-star rating - because the system won't allow for a nil-star rating. read more

Got a deal from a guy in sainsbury's... £20 for a family shoot and a "great sized complimentary photo and frame!" Yes, I am far to trusting and learnt a big lesson in this! The reason why I gave the one star is for the lady who called me to book appointment and go through the shoot with me! She was lovely and helpful....... Everything else - diabolical! Had our shoot.. Supposed to be 90 minutes.. Was in there 45. No thought in the pictures.. My partner could've taken better ones! Back for a viewing.... Well, lady started off friendly and inviting and very complimentary of our daughter and us as a family (of course she was she wanted us to buy a lot!) we got given a price list and I nearly coughed my stomach up!!! £199 starting price for a small frame? You got to be kidding! The lady tried to encourage us to purchase as much as possible, showing us a 10month free interest scheme etc, and kept saying " if I were you I would do it now.. Because...." we knew we couldn't justify the ludicrous prices they charge so the lady left the room (slamming the door behind her) to "give us time to think"! On discussion with my partner there was NOWAY we would consider paying their stupid prices (which may I add we were only given the price list to us at the shoot, but we had to pay £40 deposit that we would only get back if we went to the viewing) When the lady came back into the room and we told her for now we couldn't purchase any and will re-consider after Christmas... Well her whole attitude changed... She barely spoke to us, scribbled on a piece of paper about our complimentary photo... Which is only 5x5.... Tried to shove us out the door ASAP and once we were leaving her little room she slammed the door behind us, telling us our photo wont be ready untill a month. a sodding MONTH!!!!!??? For a small 'free' picture? Disgusting! I would definitely not be returning to there... EVER and will never have a good word to say about Clifton Photographic Company. read more

Absolutely appalling , spent over £200.00 on this so called experience for my friends 50th birthday , wanted something to make her feel special as she is recently widowed , they spend more time getting you to spend your money then the makeover and photo shoot combined , totally and utterly misrepresented and I intend to take this matter further . read more

After receiving a call from this company about a 'free' photo shoot and make over worth over £100 i decided to take up the offer. When i arrived the team were all very friendly, and the process of make up and hair was on a whole, okay. The worst part was when i came out of the shoot. Photo viewing was uncomfortable as there was so much pressure to buy the photos they had taken. As a student i could not afford to buy more than one pic at the time, but it was very uncomfortable! They give you a 'voucher' of £60 towards their photos, but for one digital picture i still had to pay £25 on top of that. After that photo they were £90+ for each copy! They then ask you to write a whole list of people you know and numbers down for freebies (bucks fizz, some makeup) so that they can hassle them in to coming down and getting their money. Wasn't overly impressed with the photos anyway. After the shoot i received another call from their promotions team after one my friends had put my name down again, needless to say the guy on the phone was very rude when told i wasn't interested in the offer. Wouldn't recommend. read more

I have had a completely different experience, mind you in the family studio. We were approached back in December at the mall in cribs causeway and the person on the stand didn't know how much the prices were, but at least they were honest and didn't just make something up. When I spoke to Jo on the phone to book in, she was able to explain to me how much things costed. I have to be honest and say I was a little shocked when I was told, but decided to go ahed and get it booked in. When we arrived we were treated brilliantly our photographer Krissie came out and offered us drinks and was so good with my two year old. We then had, what I can only describe as a chaotic, but extremely fun hour in the studio with Krissie. She was so good, it felt like a great family event rather that a photoshoot. She then showed us all the different options for what they could do for us. I will be honest and say that while it was great fun my husband and I were dubious to say the least on getting some good pictures from the shoot, as it seemed chaotic and we couldn't imagine getting any really good images from the shoot. When we came back a week later for our viewing, we're a little disappointed that Krissie wasn't available to show us the mages as Thomas (my son) was really looking forward to seeing here again, but the lady (Brooke) i think, who showed us our images was really nice too. When we saw the images we were shocked, they were amazing! our friends who had done this had told is they would be, but we were still surprised. Brooke was really patient with us and helped us choose our images. We did end up spending more than we intended, but the images were amazing. I'm sat at home now with an amazing image of Thomas on a canvas above my desk. It's isn't something we are going to do every year, but we are so happy with these pictures, we are recommending Clifton to all our friends. This has been the most fun we have ever had in a photo shoot and the best pictures we have ever had. read more

The whole experience was pretty fun, it was quite busy so we spent alot of time waiting but that was to be expected. Nice entrance getting offered bucks fizz and a quick talk through of what to expect. The actual shoot itself was a lot of fun and the photographer made us feel quite comfortable. My partner loved the makeup and hair styling. My negative comments are the editing and buying process the prices aren't mentioned till you've chosen your favorites the fee's as of 07/06/13 were £85 per photo 5" by 7" I think or £440 for a USB with all the photo's. This gets sprung on you and you feel pressured to make a quick decision whilst only really flicking through the photos. Excited we get home after purchasing the USB and realise that actually the editing is pretty poor and I am certainly glad we get the raw photographs (the guy did 78 photos in 20 minutes) and a lot of the shots had chopped off pretty essential components of the human body. All in all, pretty fun and a good laugh, worth the money? Probably not. Pretty amateur photography and editing at the end of the day and a pressure expensive sales pitch. Should get low-res watermarks to go away, look at and discuss. read more

If there was an option for no stars, that's what I'd of picked! I booked a couples shoot for me and my partner for his birthday, hair looked lovely make up was orange. Photographer wasn't very chatty and actually made us feel quite uncomfortable. After giving recommendations we did not receive our goodies and when it came to choosing photographs, she was very pushy and when I asked is it always hard for people to chose which photos they want, she replied with No everyone just buys the USB or cd as we don't have time for this! She was huffing and puffing and sighing when we were trying to decide so just chose pictures on impulse spending a lot more money than planned as didn't want to risk looking all of them! Pictures arrive and we look completely washed out apart from my orange face and the lighting is awful! They are refusing a refund!! Defo would not recommend!!! read more

Two studios side by side, just off Whiteladies road with easy parking options, catering for different styles of photography. The skills and professionalism of the MUA's, photographers and editors is clearly evident in the finished images. For sentimental gifts and keepsakes, through to professional portfolio content, whether you're a proud mum or the next big social media influencer, their is a style of photography and package to suit your aspirations and budget. I've used them for some LinkedIn and media related shots and also a more hobby related sports shoot, both times I was delighted with the output. Not a natural in front of the camera I was put at ease by the photographer and all the staff in general, within the friendly and accommodating studio environment. Highly recommended. read more

Well, I had the most amazing experience there! It started on Mother's Day when my husband gave me an experience for me and my daughter to have a Mother/Daughter shoot together. When we arrived we were greeted really warmly, I even had a Bucks Fizz and they made a big deal of giving Mollie a drink just like Mummy's (without the alcohol !). This was lovely and helped ease my nerves but Mollie was loving it all and especially the attention. The make up artist Lisa-Marie, made Mollie feel really special as if she was the most important little girl in the world. They made me feel good too and very relaxed . The shoot itself was incredible and nothing how I imagined, it wasn't stuffy, stilted, formal , it was fun and a very relaxed environment. read more

I had an individual makeover recently with Clifton Photographic Company. I have to say, the whole day was amazing. I was greeted by a lovely girl who made me feel really relaxed and welcomed. My make-up and hair was stunning (I've never looked so good), the Make-up Artist was really friendly and was an expert in suggesting what style would suit me. My shoot was so fun, I really did feel like a model. I was concerned that I would be awkward in front of the camera but I had nothing to worry about, the photographer directed me really well throughout the shoot. My viewing was great, I was expertly guided through my images and couldn't resist ordering them all! Would use again and definitely recommend to others. read more

Would just like to say what a lovely experience my family & I had at Clifton Photographic. I picked up my framed prints today and to be honest I cant stop smiling. They are truly lovely & I cant wait to show them off :) We have 2 young children 2yrs & 4yrs and although my husband was more or less dragged along kicking & screaming, he ended up really enjoying himself. Those guys know what they're doing, they were fantastic with the kids and they really made it fun and the results are beautiful images that I will always treasure, & to be honest although we spent more than I thought, you are getting what you are paying for, a quality product and service. I would happily recommend Clifton photographic :) read more

I couldn't be happier with my daughter's photo session! We had a "Fairy experience" with Hazel and she made my little girl confident and playful from the very beginning and took stunning photos of her! Studio looks like little woodland and makes it so easy for little ones to believe they're, in fact, fairies. Before I saw photos, I was sure I'd purchase 1 or 2 of them on top of the complimentary one, but I loved them so much that I purchased digital bundle. It's brilliant option as you receive a link to download photos and you can easily share it with your family Tim made photo viewing an enjoyable and relaxed experience and he was very patient when I tired to choose photos I liked the most. read more

We had the best time doing a family photoshoot with our 5 month old baby. Ruth made it really fun and came up with some lovely ideas for the photos, as well as doing some candid shots as well.
