Just to replace a cartridge at a kitchen faucet..Took him 5 minutes to do the work...Charged me $55.00 for a $20.00 part and $180.00 to do the work..Then 5% more to pay with a debit card.. Then I had to make sure they cleaned up the water mess they were going to leave under the kitchen sink...Are you kidding me?? There is no value in that except for him..Cliff sure knows how to take full advantage of his customers.. I sure made the mistake of not doing it myself.... read more

What seemed an easy job replacing the toilet tank parts turned into a broken supply line and a flooded tight crawl space! I called eight other plumbers and even the ones that said they could do emergencies could not help us for a week or two!! A local plumber recommended Cliff's Plumbing! They drove 55 minutes to get to me! And responded right away! They fixed the broken pipe and added a new shut off valve in an hour! Bad experience! Our 86 year old mother had just a simple replacement of fixtures needed in her tub. Called Cliff's to replace. The plummer they sent came and this is when everthing started going south. A simple process took the plummer 7 hours @ $125.00 a hour and walked out with a explanation, I can't complete this job due to needing another part but you need to pay me for my 7 hours which was an outragious bill! She was extremely upset and so were all of our family. Left holding a bill with only pipes extended where the knobs were to be replaced with no use of the tub or shower. We called the office and talked with a employee and was told they would take our mother to small claims court if she didn't pay for the unfinished job. Our 86 year old mother drove to Hickory and paid the bill. Cliff's sent two other plummers this morning and they fixed the simple last part of the job with no problem. No extra parts were needed to complete the job. This has been a EXTREMELY BAD experience for out mother and we WILL NEVER recommend this Company to anyone. We called in an emergency. The receptionist was pleasant and kind. She said that she believed everyone was busy but because it was an emergency, she would call to see if someone could come. Within 5 minutes she called and said someo was on the way. That someone was Matthew Phillips. He assessed the problem, went and got the parts, time off the clock, returned with the correct parts, and made the needed repairs quickly and efficiently. He was very polite and professional. Really annoyed. These guys have been out to fix my sewer pump four times in two years. They charged me hundreds to replace it a year ago but still isn't fixed. They have been out twice since then and charged me each time but haven't fixed it . I got home today and yep it was out again but this time I called they told me they couldn't come out for 5 days as they were very busy. Gee maybe if they had fixed it over the past 4 times I wouldn't have to wait. I'm tired of companies that don't stand behind their work , don't deliver when they caused the problem. 4 times and still a problem and now apparently I cant use the plumbing for 5 days. Zero interest on solving problem they should have solved. Seriously Cliff I'm done with you and also that whiny receptionist you have. While I have heard Cliff's plumbing is great and recommended by everyone I asked. I wouldn't know because they were too busy to come out and looked at my backed up kitchen sink. The earliest they could send anyone was next week. I'm sure they are great if they stay that busy but that doesn't work for me when I need help as soon as possible. read more

I would check other Plumbing Services unless it is an absolute Emergency & No one else is available. On an approx. $1000 Water Heater Replacement job there was an unpaid balance of $195, which I asked to have a bill sent so I could pay the remainder~ The Technician said he could not give me a copy of the bill & I spoke with Madison, (Office Help) and was told if the balance was not paid before the Technician left, she was going to instruct him to remove the Water Heater. Terrible Customer Service on her part and she acted like a Brat! Arrangements were made to get Cliff's Plumbing there $195 within the hr. Business should not be conducted this way if you would like repeat customers. read more
