My friends and I stopped in for lunch and enjoyed the fantastic views of the Arkansas Grand Canyon. The food was absolutely amazing! The burgers and the strawberry chicken salad was finished by everyone at the table. The coconut cream pie and the companies comin' pie was superb!! We highly recommend this small restaurant! The service was great too even though they were short staffed that day.

We stopped for the views and to grab some Dramamine. The views from the tables were amazing and the dessert was tasty. The staff were very friendly, Definitely worth the stop!

OK, so I traveled with a friend of mine who did some research ahead of time and said we had to go to this place to have the Arkansas State pie, which is named companies coming for dinner pie. So I am a chocolate girl. If I'm going to use calories, wasted calories on some, it better be damn good. For me to switch from chocolate to something fruity, well, it better be even better than damn good. This was!!! the crust was like a sugar cookie and had some kind of nut in it that added to the deliciousness. The only thing I could detect in the pie was pineapple, but I could've licked this off a turd and probably been happy.

The owners are very nice, and might know how to run a gift-shop, but this restaurant is a disaster. Expect to wait about an hour to be seated. Once we were seated, we watched the overworked waitresses hustle back and forth without approaching. They took orders and brought drinks to two nearby tables seated well after us. After 20 minutes, she eventually responded to our waves and took our order. Then the real wait began. When we politely asked for an ETA on our appetizer; she angrily said "It'll be ready when it is ready!" Of course I explained that if it didn't come before our food, please just cancel the appetizer. Then she was really miffed, as if that idea was crazy. My Chicken Fried Steak was the size of my ramekin; perfect for a slider. It was easily the smallest CFS we've ever seen. We eventually left hungry. The owner told us they have no control over the wait-staff, and they are "struggling like the entire country - it is terrible all over." False. The economy is bad, and good staff is hard to find - but he had 3 people behind the counter to work one register the entire 'meal.' Two of them needed to help serve. We eat all over the world, and this was the worst dining experience ever. The Cliff House is sold every few years; maybe it is time for new owners. The view is 5-star, the food is about 3-star (average), but the service is 1-star or less.

Second night in Jasper we headed over to the Cliff House inn for some dinner. The parents ordered the catfish which looked really good, but I opted for the steak. Fried green tomatoes were fried perfectly and had that nice tart flavor. Definitely a great option for an appetizer. Atchafalaya steak...so on the menu it said filet... what I received was a very think cut ribeye. Slightly over cooked. I wanted medium, but never the less. The steak was smothered in a Cajun cream sauce on top of a bed of very tasty boudin! The dish as a whole worked well. I love some good boudin! Looking forward to my next trip up to Jasper to try something new.

Delicious meal with a lovely view! Quick service. Prices are a bit steep but food was worth it.

Fantastic spot if you want to eat with a view. All of the apps and entrees were delicious, and offered a good mix in each dish. The desserts were alright. The Company's Comin is supposed to be the "state pie", but I don't think i'd recommend it. Very cute spot for a meal and a pic.

Came here for our anniversary brunch while spending the weekend in Jasper. This is the place we will come eat whenever in the area again - SERIOUSLY!! I got the HAMLET, which is a slab of country ham topped with sautéed onions, mushrooms, and tomatoes topped with melted cheddar. HOLY MOLEY! I'm not a big fan of breakfast eggs ‍ so this was PERFECT and now I will be trying to replicate at home. My husband got the chicken fried steak and it is ABSOLUTELY THE MOST AMAZING CHICKEN FRIED STEAK WE'VE EVER EATEN!! Can't wait to plan another weekend visit to see what dinner is like

No wait sat right down on a Saturday evening. I've read complaints of the wait. Appetizer was not worth $10 but it won't ruin the place for me. The waitress was perfect. She recommended the blackened sea bass and she was correct. It was delicious and a huge portion I couldn't finish.

Besides the view, not sure what the hype is. Everything on the menu is fried and it wasn't that good. They do not serve any alcohol.

I was so happy that she had a cabin available (cabin #2)! And what a cabin! These are log cabins with long decks that overlook the Arkansas hills. Everything was clean and just really, really nice. I was looking for a place with a full kitchen, and this had it (well, minus the oven, but that was OK, it had a toaster oven!), including full-sized refrigerator, microwave, stove. The kitchen had everything you might need: pots, pans, all manner of utensils, all the dishes and silverware, storage containers potholders, etc. There was a dining table, and couches and a coffee table in front of the fireplace. There were games on the shelf that you could play, there were lots of power outlets, big fluffy towels in the bathroom, and parking for 2+ cars. The downstairs bedroom had a queen bed (I think) and upstairs in the loft was a twin and a double. Lots of room to spread around here! The deck had a birdfeeder and a hummingbird feeder (and, yes, the hummingbirds do show up), with rocker-swing two-seater, barbecue, bench, and two chairs, just plenty of room to hang out. Our deck overlooked a beautiful field in front of the view of all the pretty Arkansas hills. Oh, and the sunset was almost directly in front of us! I felt like I was living in the hunting lodge of a Lord of the Manor and thoroughly enjoyed being there. It is about a quarter-mile up a side road from Highway 7, just south of Jasper, and it was very quiet there except for the sounds of birds! Kelly was extremely accommodating and gracious, and again, I was thoroughly thrilled to find this place on short notice because it was really spectacular and beyond my expectations!

I especially appreciated that the outlets were located in convenient places around the room, which makes a difference when traveling with phones, chargers, and devices. The air conditioning worked very well and kept the room comfortable all night. The common areas were also clean and well maintained. The lobby had a welcoming feel, the indoor pool area was bright and inviting, and the breakfast area was organized and easy to use. Breakfast was decent, and I was pleasantly surprised to see they offered a turkey sausage patty in addition to the regular breakfast items. One thing worth noting is that they no longer keep coffee makers in every room as part of their sustainability policy. Instead, they offer fresh coffee in the lobby 24 hours a day. It means a little extra walking, but the sign explained that it is part of their effort to reduce single-use waste, which I can appreciate. Also, the front desk can provide a coffee maker if requested. The only minor issue was that the downstairs beverage machine did not have a water option because that feature was broken during our stay. Overall, this was a clean, comfortable, and dependable overnight stop, and I would definitely stay here again. 117 Highway 43 E Harrison, AR 72601

First, The GOOD: The phone number works, it's where it says…read moreit is, they do have rooms, the place is smack in the middle of Jasper, not two blocks from Ozark Cafe (our final destination in Jasper). It's also very affordable, and we were able to check-in late (which I know is a hassle for Mom & Pop outfits). Also, and I can't express how wonderful this was, we were able to bring our dog. Oh, and they do offer Canoe rentals, which is a big draw in the area. Now, the not so good, where to start? Brace yourself for a long review... In order for us to check-in, they left our room key *in the door.* Which, while convenient, was very strange to me. When we walked in the room, it was after a very long day of driving, so we plopped our stuff down on the extra bed and got ready to relax. I noticed on the way in that the main light in the room was a bare bulb with no cover, and there was a recently-patched part of wall in the shape of a smoke detector, but I didn't see any smoke detector there or anywhere else. I also noticed that the pilot light for the old gas wall-heater was left on for us (that's nice!) I turned on the heater because it was getting to be a cold night out. I went to the bathroom, flicked on the light, which flashed on for a second and then died. The only light. And no windows either. It was late enough I assumed we couldn't call anyone to fix that, so I just flicked on a cell phone light and rolled with it. While using the facilities I found that the toilet seat aggressively would not stay up. After I'd finished using the toilet I started gasping, and realized I'd just peed in a toilet bowl full of bleach in an unventilated room (oh, no fan in the bathroom either). So I flushed and got out of there ASAP. I'm a big fan of cleaning with bleach, but I know better than to mess with it without any air flow, and definitely not mixed with Ammonia/pee. I came out of the bathroom, and noticed that the room was nice and warm, and that the heater had shut itself off - AND shut off the pilot light while the gas was still on. I quickly turned the gas off. At this point, we found the gas/CO2 detector. It was in a dresser drawer, and we found it because it started beeping. Well, at least it works, right? So, we opened the door and swung it a bit to mix in some fresh air, which made the beeping stop. But now the room was around 50 degrees and we didn't want to turn the heater back on. This was around when I noticed that the outlets - ALL the outlets - in the room were two-prong. Something old enough that I'd never even seen before, let alone seen an entire room of them, so it's a good thing we didn't bring anything we needed to plug in... Care to guess if there's Wi-Fi or not? At this point, two folks in the room next to us went out into the driveway to smoke. I appreciated that, because they were trying to be responsible and smoke outside - but that's when we noticed that the seal on our door didn't do a darn thing, so for a few hours, our room smelled like smoke. We were laughing our butts off by then, because what else can you do? We had our picnic dinner, piled every sheet and blanket we could find on the one bed, and went to sleep on the threadbare mattress. Easily the craziest Motel stay I've ever had. It almost felt like it had been booby-trapped. But, we were just looking for a place to sleep, so it worked. But Man! What an experience!
