I wanted one of the best disability lawyers in California and several attorneys highly recommended Michelle and it was soon apparent why - she's a brilliant lawyer and she's a fighter. She won my claim against a big insurance company. She helped me obtain social security disability coverage. When the insurance company decided to pay me a lump sum amount she fought to get me more money by questioning their methodology and won. When I needed an employment attorney she gave me an excellent referral and worked with them to ensure that my disability benefits were protected. At every turn over 4 years she won, won, won. I simply couldn't rate a fellow attorney any higher than Michelle. Amazing!

I am so thankful for the professionalism they exemplified and provided; for the empathy and "we have your back" attitude; for the prompt and diligent communication - never leaving me in the dark; for their secure client portal in dealing with sensitive, confidential, and restricted information; reasonable expectations and contractual fees; but most of all - for the "human" factor in the people that make up the firm. Yes, that is crucial as a crucial element that makes up everything for supporting a client's best interest. I will always remember the attention given to me and my case and I highly recommend anyone seeking any services from Roberts Disability Law to go all in and not think twice, if the opportunity is given to spearhead your case. The firm believes in "righteousness" for the client and to me that is the biggest win of all. Much Respect - An extremely satisfied client. The icing on the cake was Michelle for hiring such a great team and for being engaged and involved with my case. Awesomeness!!

If you have a more complicated or marginal disability case, you would be crazy not to have a consultation with him. He doesn't take every case, but he'll give you some straight-up feedback on the potential of your case for success.

Anytime I had any concerns/questions, making an appointment was always very easy. He explains everything thoroughly & doesn't rush you. And I can't end this raving review without giving Sylvia a huge shoutout. Even on her lunch break (which I have been guilty of interrupting on more than one occasion) she will answer the phone & tell you she'll call you right back after she's done. And she really does! And her email response time is lightning fast. The whole team at LaPorte Law Firm are the BEST!!! I cannot thank them enough!

I had, and long paid for, a $10,000/month long-term disability policy . A mediating judge who knew both sides of the contested claim instructed Chabre NOT to settle for the flat $300. Since 2008, when this occurred, I've been unable to work or function in any way normally - Disabled. Marin Center for Disability had referred me to Chabre. I've lived on $1,500/ month social security disability (poverty level) since then. If Chabre couldn't represent a neurologically disabled person he certainly had a responsibility to refer me to someone else. He had a full UCSF description of my sudden impairments. The insurance company had paid the previous three- month short term policy. My life truly has been difficult: food, housing, healthcare, you all know what it takes. There was nothing I could do as I was so disabled, I had no one else to support me as I was unable to communicate well, and he was representing me.

He was honest setting my expectations and worked under a tight preset court schedule. Farmers Insurance was slow by several months to even admit fault in the accident and would not pursue the case without suing them in court. Farmer's attorneys gave us a tough time throughout, but Mike Padway was not dissuaded. Mike's extensive career and experience met all challenges and the case concluded on schedule. Mike is honest and follows up with your case or concerns very promptly. You can count on excellent representation that wins over the big giants in the insurance industry. He is…read morewell-versed in ERISA laws, an obscure area of employee benefits law which very few attorneys really know well. You would be in good hands. He is also reasonably-priced, and easy to work with. Earlier this year I unexpectedly got into a medical insurance dispute with my employer, for a treatment that was very important to me. The new administrator of my insurance plan had wrongfully denied my claims. In the process of appealing the denials, I realized that the health plans were self-insured by my company. This was the first time I heard about this thing called "ERISA". I called around several attorneys in California for help, and Mr. Padway struck me as the most knowledgeable, who patiently explained the laws to me and looked at my case in detail before charging me. He accepted my case even though it was for health insurance, rather than a more lucrative disability case. His service in the ensuing months was critical for my case from a legal point of view. It was also invaluable emotionally, as I no longer had to fight the frustrating battle alone while going through the treatment at the same time and worrying about repercussions on my employment (as I'd have to sue my own employer if disagreement persisted). In the end, the company offered to settle, and Mr. Padway became my negotiator. He looked out for my best interest and pursued the best deal, balancing my legal rights in a very strong case, and my desire to get the matter behind me sooner rather than later. Eventually we came to a deal with the company that was a win-win for all involved. I hope you never get into a situation like mine, but if you do find yourself in an unfortunate dispute with your employer over benefits, especially involving ERISA, I highly recommend Mr. Larry Padway!

Last year, when I called to speak with an attorney, I was quickly connected to Eliot Houman. I immediately let him know that I thought his firm might not be able to help me but asked if he would take a few minutes. He said he would be glad to listen and patiently did so. More than half an hour later, he explained why my case was not for his firm, but he gave me astute advice. Clearly, I was impressed with the time he had taken at no charge and with his kind, considerate approach. Subsequently, he took more time, again at no charge, to respond to a number of emails I sent. Each time, he answered quickly and helpfully. At the time of our conversation, I did not realize that Eliot is one of the firm's co-founders. As I subsequently wrote to Eliot, "You knew from the first few moments we spoke on the phone that I was not a potential client. Most people in business, including attorneys, would have cut the conversation short for that reason. You, on the other hand, chose to be kind and helpful. And then I came back with more questions and you continued to help. My conclusion is that you have learned something very important about life that few understand - doing the right thing is more important than making money. You should be proud of yourself for being so evolved." I share this now in the hopes it might help give perspective on the spirit of the firm.
