The management company phoned me at 9:00 am to change my appointment from 3:00 pm that day to 10:00 am. I could not make it there by that time. They then said 11:20 am. I said I would have to shuffle some things around, but I would manage. I arrived at 11:00am, handed over all of my insurance cards again. Then I sat and waited for 1hour 15 minutes. I asked the girl behind the desk why I was still waiting when they were taking people who came in after me. She nonchalantly stated "they forgot about you." I asked when I could be seen, "I will go back next but I would have wait to wait till everyone else had been." By calculations that would be another hour or more. I had other appointments that I had already rescheduled to accoommodate this long distance management company! I walked out! Telling them that "they better not charge my Medicare or sup insurance, I will keep an eye on it!" Tried calling to talk to someone at the long distance office, had to leave a message. Tried cancelling an upcoming shot, left 2 messages so far. No one calls back and they will not give a phone number for the Timonium office. I believe the only thing the woman at the desk in the office does is take insurance and process the payment. I have change Drs., one who has a real practice, not a long distance management company.

Then the medical review begins with Ms Christina. She is a good historian and very attentive. PA Patel comes in next and is a blessing! He puts my at ease and he is compassionate, empathetic, genuine, and a great listener. He allowed me to be interactive with my care and he made my fears melt away. I did not feel judged, criticized, doubted, or rushed. He took time to make sure that we got to know each other, know the plan, and know we could be a good team! I appreciated this medical encounter and I have confidence in the care that I received today! I feel blessed to have this team added to my medical community. After sitting there for over 35 minutes I told my husband, who walks with a walker, to sit there while I went to the other office down the hall to see if we were in the right place since no one had come to the desk to check us in. There I was told that we were in the wrong area and that he could not be seen since he was considered late by this office. I explained we had been sitting there all that time in an empty office with no service. If that office was closed for procedures today why was the door unlocked with no one there. I was told they didn't know because both offices did not communicate with each other. After being quite upset that he would be rescheduled another person came to the desk and said they had an opening for 11:00 if we wanted to wait. I said yes after driving an hour to get here and getting my husband out of the car and into the building we would wait. I then went down the hall to the other office to get my husband. Still an empty office, unlocked, and no front desk help. It's very unnerving to hear that two offices working for the same faculty do not communicate with each other and could care less about an unlocked, unmanned office, and handicapped people under their care.
