If you are a good tenant, communicate your needs, document the faults of the house when moving in, clean when you move out, and follow basic house hygiene and don't be a nasty human like 50% of people that rent then clearview is for you. They will do their part if you do yours. Be responsible and don't look for handouts. We had problems when we lived there but they always came and fixed it and gave us the benefit of the doubt. They give you a cleaning list they expect to be done when you leave to get your deposit back. The house we rented was dirty when we moved in, the yard was full of garbage and debris from the previous tenant. We asked them to send someone to pick up the large items. They are still there 2 years later. Do yourself a favor, steer clear and let this company fold. They tried to charge me rent 58 days after I gave notice. Hoping I wouldn't catch it I guess. They tried to push back the release of my remaining deposit as well. Both illegal. If maintenance does show up, it will be a 90 year old man who will work for an hour or so then tell you he will be back. Guess? Yeah, he won't. Job half done is good enough for the owner. I'm posting this in hopes that someone will see it before renting with Clearview. All of the previous reviews sounds very similar to what we dealt with. When we first moved in there hadn't been any work done to the house. The paint was old, the bushes hadn't been trimmed, and it was INFESTED with roaches. Not to mention the carpets had animal hair from the previous owners and when we complained they told us it was professionally carpet cleaned and that's all they would do. (It did not look professionally carpet cleaned as we vacuumed cat hair for weeks after) You will be responsible for pest control regardless of how bad it is. It took me months to get the roaches "under control" or at least to the point where we were not killing 6+ a day. We received a notice that we had to trim the bushes and trees around the house, which hadn't been done in years. We also were responsible for doing gutters that had not been cleaned out in years When we moved out I was deployed. I had sent an email saying that we wouldn't be renewing our lease. The agent told my wife that my "email wasn't clear enough" apparently "we will not be renewing our lease on X date" isn't clear enough for Clearview. To top it all off the auto pay drew rent for the month after we left, they claimed that it was our responsibility to turn off the payments, but then canceled them with ease. We finally just got our money back with the security deposit settlement. We where charged a total of $825 for cleaning and repairs. My wife and mother in-law cleaned the house thoroughly, but again apparently not well enough to get hardly any of the security deposit back. PLEASE STAY AWAY!!!!!! read more

My husband was killed overseas and I moved back to the west coast so my kids could be near family. I left my property to the care of clearview. One year later there have been more than $40,000 in damages to me and my husbands only home together I'd like to thank clearview for giving me one more nightmare and headache to live out this year. I'd also like to thank Colleen for consistently being rude and short on patience with me. Please find a different agency if you care at all for your property or the kind of people you will be dealing with. For the last year I received constant complaints from my neighbors that the house was being mismanaged, yard was not mowed for an entire year, trash was piled high all over the yard and so on. Clearview said they did checks on the property to make sure it was properly maintained. Not at all true with my property. This company is by far the WORST property management company I have ever worked with! They charged us for repairs that they approved and took it out of our deposit. They wouldn't let us talk to the home owners and they refused to do a walk through with us before we moved out and tried to charge us for issues that we were not aware of. We were excellent tenants who paid on time and did everything to make sure the home was well kept and immaculate upon moving out. Now, they still won't give us our deposit back! This company does not appear to conduct business correctly. All my experiences with them as a perspective renter were very unorganized. I was following up on a home that a tenant had just moved out of and was told it was first come first serve. There were severe damages to the home by previous renters and every time that I called to see if they would get repaired they always gave an excuse. I never got a call back, which is why I was so persistent and kept calling myself. They told me to call back Thursday to see what the owners decided to do. I called back Thursday morning and they said it had been rented. Nobody in their right mind would have rented that house as is without any repairs being done. They have clearly mistaken my kindness for weakness! I should have known from my first encounter/impression. I went back into the office to return the key after viewing. A lady with a baby on her hip and attitude on her face snatched the key out of my hand, did not make eye contact, and when I proceeded to ask a question about the availability she cut me off literally saying, "yep yep yep, I'm not sure". I'm really disappointed. I have followed up with them every 3-4 days since December 26, 2017. I feel as though I was lied to from the gate. They require your social security number and background information for all adults before you can even look at one of the rental properties. The form they gave me to fill out when I asked to view one of the properties was as extensive as most rental applications. When I casually asked if they really needed the social security numbers for me and my wife before I even looked at the property, the terse reply I got was "It wouldn't be on the form if I didn't need it." I have read reviews of Clearview and they were negative. I wish to make a positive statement. Having worked with Laurel for about a year, the only complaint I have had is that the home owner did not advise Clearview of the true status of the house. I have learned that from my own inspection from a qualified person, who informed me that the pool had been in a sad state of repiar for a long time. And that is so for the garage door. Neighbors had complained of the noise from the pool and the door. At no time has Laurel passed the buck or the blame onto the home owner. She assumed responsibility and made sure all necessary issues were corrected in a quick fashion. Also, I had that the people I have come into contact through Clearview have been some of the niceswt people I have met in North Carolina. I strongly recommend Clearview Property Management. It is clear Laurel worked to ensure the home owner and the renter were both taken care of. I extend my thanks for Laurel for her professionalism, great charm and character. read more

I would give this a score of ZERO if possible. I DO NOT recommend renting from Clearview Property Management. When we first moved they claimed that they had cleaned the carpet, but there was still dog hair on the floor and the whole place smelled like wet dog. They also claimed they had cleaned, that wasn't the case either. We are renting a house and the garage doors were broken when we moved in and they promised to fix them promptly, 3 months later they finally sent someone out to fix them. The previous tenants had let a holly bush get so out of control that it was taller than the house, something they said they would fix and then once we moved in said yard work was our problem. The holly bush got infested with bees at the beginning of spring, all kinds of bees living together in perfect harmony, was told pest control was our problem. So, now we can't even go outside because of the swarming bees. Now, our A/C is out and the repairman said a coil needs replaced after it took them 2 days to send someone out......looking like the earliest we may have is Monday or Tuesday.When we moved in the refrigerator was broken and had bugs in it, took them a week to replace that. Dishwasher was broken, another 2-3 weeks to replace. Getting even the smallest thing repaired is an act of Congress. I would like to hear any experiences you have had, good or bad about this rental company......I also wish he had checked the BBB, because they have an F rating.
