The tow driver Jimmy was kind and great - this was the only good part of this experience. When i told them insurance was towing it to a shop I usually go to, they started saying it was $4,000 in storage fees for the few days it was there. admin fee is $450 yard fee is $250 tow out fee is $250 reposition $250 car cover $250 clean up $200 maintenance $450 and a dozen other fees that he rambled off that made zero sense i don't even think they know what half of that crap is. Insurance said they'd cover it, whatever, but when the people who were going to tow it go to pick it up they were told they'd only ACCEPT THE $4,000 IN CASH. insurance doesn't pay businesses in cash. they fought tooth and nail about giving up my car because they were pissed I wasn't getting it fixed there. If you see these guys coming to tow your car you have to refuse them as much as possible, it's been almost a month now, the price has gone up and they held it as long as possible to get as much out of my insurance as they could and i still have a damaged car. Do not go to them. They are complete scam artists who benefit off of your despair and misfortune.

Not only did my car come back running great but it looked practically brand new because of how great the detailing came out. I believe I had the boss package detail which was around $150 but worth every penny. Car was showroom condition and smelled great inside. The repair costs were also very reasonable and cheaper then most other mechanic shops around the area. And I also checked out the used car side of The Carfather shop and ended up buying a cheaper car at a good deal with financing even though I didn't have the best credit. My overall experience here was really above expectations and the staff were straight forward with me and honest about all costs through the entire process. I will be definitely recommending this place to friends and family, and will be doing further business here as well. Thanks again guys.

I actually got their name google'ing another dealership in which people had horrible experiences…read more Since there are so many HORRIBLE dealerships around, I decide to take time to write a [positive] review. The other reviewer recommended Nekta, and I would too, because they're great! I spent some time browsing through their website for a used car and went through some models/makes before finally settling on one. The car-buying-system is a bit different. I'm used to driving (or rather taking a cab since I didn't have a car) to different dealerships and test driving whatever is on the lot. With Nekta, you pick out the car you want online through the nationwide database of dealership auctions. You get a set amount of time to buy the car before it goes onto auction. If the price is accepted before auction, they work with you to get that car and bring it to you. This is more like an eBay of cars, but with a dealership and the assurances that someone is checking up on details. (FYI - Dealerships have laws they must follow and reputations to uphold, regular folks selling cars online do not). Mine was an Acrua RDX, 2007, with 89k miles from PA. Stanley was good on communication and emailed me status updates, from leaving the lot in PA to getting the car inspection, to getting it on the truck to NYC, and then to getting it registered. The dealership in PA was slow to get the title to Nekta, which they shipped separately for safety. This caused a delay or two, but it wasn't their fault. Stanley drove the car to my home (on a Friday night no less) and it was all good. I'm already two weeks/weekends into it and my RDX already drank a tank of gas (mine only drinks premium!). That's my fault for some fun drives to test the handle & response of the car. Testing it late at night on some highway driving to make sure there's no rattling or any craziness. ALL GOOD!!! TIP 1: VIN Numbers. You can google them. Copy & past them onto google. Sometimes, you can get a FREE carfax report :) TIP 2: They have a Chase account. You can either get a bank check and then bring the check over and wait for it to clear. Or you can just wire the money to them (much faster, no fees). TIP 3: Cars from east coast cost less than bring to NYC than cars from California. That's a "DUH" moment, but just in case you didn't know, location does matter. TIP 4: Since the car will be coming from another dealership, they'll have those stupid annoying stickers on them. Have windex and a towel handy :) TIP 5: If you're buying a used car that's over 5+ years old like me, scratches on the bumper is inevitable. Inspect the pictures and assume some small scratches. My friends 3 year old BMW already has a scratch bigger than my 2007! :) TIP 6: Tax, title, & registration is extra. Make sure you factor that in. Hope the review helps!!! Yes, I'd recommend them to friends and family. I'm actually looking at second used car through them! And no, I am not being paid for this, nor did I get any "special" discounts either. Just thought I'd help out for any first time car buyers out there. PS. If you need fuses, PM me. I have a few to spare. The cig lighter on mine was blown when I got my car. Less than 5 minutes to replace (Youtube is amazing), and a box of 120 fuses on Amazon is only ten bucks.

Lacky is an amazing mechanic, and a genuinely good individual that cares about your car troubles…read more Nice older Greek dude, has been in the business for decades. I was having issues with a 1999 Honda Civic I recently bought. I had no CEL code, but a smell that was putrid, like gas and oil mixed together, was coming into my cabin. I searched on Honda forums and the symptoms may have been a cracked exhaust manifold. Lo and behold it was. On the LX model of the 6th generation civic, the exhaust manifold and catalytic converter are together. Curses, it would be an expensive part, but I needed to get it fixed. Lacky took my car in that faithful Wednesday, and I decided to take the day off to see him fix it. Unfortunately, and this is not on him, a lot of parts stores could not get him the exhaust with the converter. He was very worried, and told me to leave it over night so he can get his hands on one. The next day he calls and tells me the job is finished. I took a look and was amazed at the solid work. It helps to know a little bit about cars, your model year and generation especially. New exhaust manifolds have a chemical residue from factory from left over production/checks for any leaks before shipment for quality assurance. I left the lot eventually smelling this because the manifold and converter get really hot. Eventually, the smell subsided around 300 miles of driving, normal. So, if you get an exhaust and converter switched out, expect the smell. Pricing was very good. Been getting quotes and wanting to go back to mechanics in this area I have given business to, but their pricing was high close to $1k, or more, for parts and labor. For labor and part cost at P&K, it was under $800 after tax! I checked on quality rock auto, and the part was only $7 more at P&K. So genuine, Lacky did not upcharge me at all. Other auto shops around this area have. Truth be told, there are many auto shops here where their mechanic turnover is frequent. If not that, there are veteran mechanics with bad attitudes. They'd look at you like an idiot when their shoddy work was the issue. I've been a customer, yet they treat me like another number. They slotted me a week down for a serious cracked exhaust manifold issue. So, I am glad to have found a new mechanic for harder jobs I cannot accomplish myself. Thank you Lacky, it's a shame there aren't many good hearted mechanics like you left in this area anymore.

They'll give you a lift home or pick you up, at least if you live nearby. The very few mistakes they have made on my cars they fixed without complaint or additional charge. They have done a few jobs for free for me, though I usually insist on paying their shop rate. (Nobody can work for free.) Their shop rate is currently less than $70/hour, which strikes me as fair. The one caveat is that the owners are from Poland, and the wife (who answers the phone) speaks with an accent and can sometimes be a little difficult to understand over the phone. This has never proven to be a real problem -- I just ask her to repeat what she said. SHE understands ME just fine. I've never had a misunderstanding over what work I was requesting. I highly recommend this shop.
