I used this cleaning service for about 8 years, so I was a long-time, loyal customer. The work itself was generally decent but not exceptional--however, their prices were reasonable and they were fairly consistent, which is why I stuck with them for so long. That's why I was pretty shocked by how our relationship ended. Out of nowhere, I received an automated email saying that "Your service visit by Cleaning MD Services is complete." There was no explanation. When I called the company to ask what that meant, they told me they could no longer afford to come to Philadelphia and were dropping all Philadelphia clients. What's frustrating is that if I hadn't called, I never would have known what the message meant until they simply stopped showing up. Even worse, this happened two days before my next scheduled cleaning. After eight years of being a reliable customer who never missed a payment, the lack of communication and last-minute notice felt pretty disappointing. I completely understand that businesses sometimes have to change their service areas, but the way this was handled--via a vague automated email with no direct communication--was frankly unprofessional and inconsiderate to long-standing clients. read more

The worst cleaning service ever. The owner is a joke, and his employees are even worse. They arrive late and ask to be paid up front. And I don't know how he can claim that his employees are bonded and insured when the woman, Yani, he sent to my house, told me she was recently released from prison, not that long ago. I love the crews Jim sends. Each one is different. Some are more thorough than others, yet they are all sweet women and men who do try to please. They work long hours for very little pay comparably speaking. I am thankful for their help in maintaining a sanitary home at a reasonable price. After cleaning my own home for 50 years I know it is an hard job and not one I would chose to do on a daily basis day in and day out. So if one month it isn't done exactly to specs, the next month may be better. If one really wants a job done exactly right they should do it themselves. I can't because I am disable, but I did for many years and I admire these women and men who go into other people's homes and clean up other's messes. I needed a local company in an area I just purchased a house in to clean up after the previous owners. I talked with the owner who assured me what I asked for was possible and should take 3 hours with three people. So far, so good... He was supposed to call me back to set up a time and get payment. Never did. I reached out and he was unavailable but finally got back to me an hour later than he estimated he would. We set an appointment, it was clear that I wouldn't be at the property, that I wanted a deep clean and that I had fans that needed serious dusting and cabinets and drawers that needed cleaning. An unusual request was also said to be no problem - the previous owners had left the fridge freezer and a chest freezer full of their food and I requested that be taken out so the fridge and freezer could be cleaned and the food tossed out. I was told the ladies would arrive at 3pm and text me before and after photos. Ladies didn't arrive until around 6 pm, had to have me reiterate what I needed done and while they called me to explain that there was no hot water so they were unable to mop, they never texted photos. I arrived at the property a couple days later to find the house an icebox. They had left a slider door cracked open. Thankfully no pets that we know of made their way in. They left the ice box out of the fridge freezer so there were ice cubes everywhere and a buildup that prevented the freezer door from closing. They left dirty towels in random spots. They cleaned most of the kitchen drawers and cabinets well but said they couldn't do the oven because it was self cleaning (there are multiple self cleaning oven safe cleaners on the market). They didn't clean bathrooms cabinets or drawers or do a good job on the counters and sinks if they even did try... They also didn't even sweep or vacuum. They didn't dust the fans or any of the obvious spots on the walls that needed it from being behind furniture previously. I would've given them 4 stars had the owner responded to my texts of what I found and the photos of what was clearly not done and remedied it. I know the lack of hot water made mopping an impossibility but it doesn't effect cleaning cabinets, counter tops, dusting, or sweeping... and it most definitely doesn't affect how they left the garbage bags in multiple spots on my porch and our slider door open. But even after leaving a phone message I have yet to hear back from this company. I ended up having to file a dispute with my credit card for the over 3 hrs of "work" I was charged for. I could've done more than they did all by myself in less time... absolutely awful. read more

When I talked with the owner Jim he told me that they will come 3 people that are professionals and do all deep cleaning. We used them for a move in clean. (The house was empty) their cleaning equipment is gross. They leave your floors soaking wet. They used cloths to wipe down stuff but nothing was really sprayed with cleaning product. They charge $99 an hour, which we were okay with except they take multiple breaks and stay on their phone numerous times. So you pay for a 4 hour clean that was done in an hour. There was still grime all over the cabinets, fridge which was not done. Would not recommend if you're looking for someone to actually clean your home. read more

You might get lucky and call to schedule a cleaning and they might show up on time. They might even do a 4-5 star job which was my experience. Just when you think you are ready to rely on Cleaning MDs for all future cleaning they no show. You call the number and no one answers so you leave a message and then they call 45 minutes after their window of time to let you know they are running late. 3-5pm was my window. They called at 545pm to tell me they won't be there till 615-630pm. Unacceptable. I am now back to the drawing board because this isn't the first time they missed their window but it will be the last time. read more

Find another cleaning company! We used them for 2 years and over the last 6-9 months they've gone downhill. They've damaged multiple pieces of furniture in our house by running the vacuum into it, somehow gouged our wood floor, and dented our trash can this week. My husband called and the owner was very unapologetic, so we are going to look elsewhere. The cleaning is average at best. They seem to rush the job for 3 cleanings (6 weeks) and miss large areas and then do a better clean the next time. They charge what every other cleaning company does too, so it's not like you're getting a discount. Seriously, save yourself the time and aggravation and use another company! The worst experience with a cleaning agency. First Jim, I don't know if he is the owner or customer service, but he is the worst. What they have done is spread the garbage throughout the house. It looks like a deep cleaning service but it is not. Apart from coming one day late, the next day they put a window for us from 9 to 11, they arrived at 12 and they cleaned in a rush because they had to go to more places. Cleaning the oven is pressing the self cleaner button, which I could have done. They don't even use a vacuum cleaner. They were 1 hour and 40 and they charged us for 2. I don't blame the girls that came for how they left the house because they had to do more, I am to blame for trusting people. And don't be fooled, they have those good reviews because if you give 5 stars they give you a discount. Horrible!!! I will not recommend them to anyone, quite the opposite. read more

Cleaning MDs is the worst cleaning company I have ever used in my life. 3 team members arrived and cleaned my house over the course of 3 hours. My kids and I stayed in the basement in an effort to stay out of the team's way. Once done, Stephanie, the team supervisor, announced that the house was clean. When I went upstairs to review their work, Stephanie was waiting by the front door awaiting payment and the remaining the team members were already packed up and sitting in the company car. So I quickly walked through the first floor of the house to give it a hurried look. In the meantime Stephanie called her boss, Jim, so that I can provide my credit card over the phone for payment. Stephanie informed me that I would be charged $210. Once the cleaners left, I thoroughly inspected the house. The 1st floor and basement was decent. The 2nd floor, however, was a complete rush job. They left behind dirty mirrors and dirty shower floors; the ceiling fans were not dusted; one of the bedrooms was not touched at all - the trash can was full and the bedroom floor was not swept or mopped. The cherry on top was my master bathroom vanity mirror was broken. Upon this discovery, my husband immediately contacted Jim who ensured us that he would look into the matter and call us the following day with a resolution. A few minutes later Stephanie texts my husband to say that the mirror was already broken when she arrived at the house. While the team was at my house cleaning, Stephanie found empty bottles at my bar and came down to the basement to ask me if it was ok to discard the empty bottles. Stephanie also came down to the basement to tell me that she found a few pieces of jewelry in my kids' bedroom. If the mirror was already broken, why didn't she mention it like she did the other 2 times? So Stephanie and I went back and forth on text a few times. Jim, on the other hand never called us back the following day. We called him again several times and followed up with texts requesting a call back to no avail. Cleaning MDs are irresponsible, unreliable and unprofessional. They provided piss poor customer service experience. Thankfully we paid them with a credit card because I was able to dispute the charge and have my account credited. DO NOT USE MEDICAL MDS TO CLEAN YOUR HOUSE. We used Cleaning MDs for about 1.5 years. Jim McVee (the owner) personally came out and walked our house to see what the space looked like prior to taking on the job. He was very nice and personable, and gave us a very good rate. When we started out, the employees that came to clean our home did a pretty good job (there were some minor hiccups, but nothing we couldn't work through). After about six months, things just progressively got worse. Many areas of our home would go untouched, and simple things like vacuuming weren't being done. When I called and let Jim know after one ridiculously poor service, he had someone come back out a couple of days later and redo the house (that cleaning was good). However, it went right back to shoddy service from the next time on. We changed crews a couple of times, and still no luck. We finally fired Cleaning MDs after SIX WEEKS (3 services) of them not cleaning a dusty ledge in plain sight in our master bathroom that we wrote "MDs" on in the dust hoping that would at least draw their attention! (see photo) There are significantly better services out there, so if you want a clean home I would highly recommend staying away from Cleaning MDs. Sadly this company appears to have thrived and prospered enough to not consider their quality. We made numerous efforts to speak with the owner for some resolution, to no avail unfortunately. Cleaning MDs have been my cleaning service for over two years. I have just fired them. The cleaning has decreasingly become slipshod and my son's collection of Lego Space designs has been damaged twice without the cleaners notifying me about the damage. Also, the cleaners talk constantly on their phones and to me about their family situations (Mother being on dialysis) and do not do any work while they are talking on the phone or to me. I am so disenchanted with these cleaners - they are poorly educated and only concerned with their family situations. The cleaning services they provide are poor and non-efficient. The owner, Jim, is hard to reach and very uncooperative. I will be looking for a new cleaning service. read more

I had Cleaning MDs come to my home for their 2nd time there and Julia who has been with the company for w/o yrs. knocked a large ducks unlimited picture halfway down the wall which hit the trim to the wainscoating and the other corner of that same picture hit a smaller picture over the thermostat and hit it and it came hanging off the wall. so now I have trim for wainscoting that has to be replaced because it put a huge chunk of wood out of the trim and have to have the thermostat replaced. it cost me $125.00 for the heating company to come out and give me an estimate for how much it would cost to get it replaced. I then just had another company come out and replace it for $100.00 less than the other company which wanted $400 to replace it. I called the owner about this and his response was that no one told him about this and he can't see Julia doing such a thing when she has been with him for so many years. well I will be showing him the receipts and he can be a good businessman and pay me for the damage because the wall also needs to be painted. she has scraped the wall with a little table I have and a chip of paint off the wall that she probably hit with the vacuum so that needs to be painted now too. For all the damage they did they should have been paying me. And the young man pressed down so hard on the towel holder to dust it that it came out of the wall which we didn't know about until we went to dry our hands and it fell out of the wall. my husband was able to fix that but he can't repair anything else because he is not a handyman that can do things on the side like some men can do. I would never recommend them or use them again. I hope Jim doesn't fight with me about the damage or we will be going to court. Unfortunately I don't have any pictures but I will have a few tomorrow. If I could give zero stars I would. Three woman arrived an hour late to "Deep clean" my home. I received a call from one of the workers a half hour after their scheduled window asking "what am I supposed to be doing today, just the bathroom and kitchen?" I notified the woman I requested a deep cleaning of my entire house, she was not pleased with my response. Cleaning MD's crew arrived a half hour after the call and were gone within 1 hour. Mind you, this was supposed to be a deep cleaning. No way possible for the listed services described to be complete in this amount of time. Baseboards were not wiped, tub was not clean, furniture was not polished.. the list goes on and on as to services which were not completed as promised. The only thing noticeably clean was the toilet, sinks and floors. THIS IS NOT A DEEP CLEAN!!! I could have cleaned the floors, toilet and sinks on my own within the hour they were here. I never leave bad reviews and feel bad for doing so. I don't think it's unreasonable to be upset when services paid for were NOT COMPLETE. Please everyone do yourself a favor and look elsewhere for home cleaning care. A total waste of money. Very upset I hired this company and had faith they would "deep clean" my house before a holiday gathering. Looks like I'll be cleaning my house from top to bottom before family arrives for Christmas. I wish my parents had looked at yelp before they hired this company. Sadly, they are a bit older and don't always know where to look. The two women that came to their house were two hours late and very unprofessional. They did not have the required equipment/supplies. They did not do doors, ceiling fans, windowsills, or the top of the refrigerator because "they could not reach them." Well, neither can my parents - that's why we hired you. I told the woman she could stand on something and she grumbled and complained. Things that were easy to reach were not cleaned either. She asked me to come "check" their work and I repeatedly told her that things were simply not cleaned. Her reply was, "Oh, well SHE was supposed to do that," all while the other woman sat in the car. I told the woman I didn't have time to go through the entire house and point out everything that was not cleaned and watch her clean it there in front of me while the other worker sat in the car. I said, "Well can the other woman get out of the car and clean the refrigerator while we do this?" When she said no, I thanked her for her time, paid her, and asked her to leave. I was hoping I could get some customer support, but Jim was rude. His reply was "Oh, we don't supply step stools. I didn't say we supplied that." I was told I would have a team show for a charge of $99 an hour. Two people show up and the lead told me it was $77 an hour for two....ok honesty up front, thats good, right?! The downstairs was cleaned well but I was asked if she should move things on my kitchen countertop to clean and I was asked if I wanted them to clean the floors. When you are told that everything from top to bottom will be cleaned, I thought floors and countertops were obvious. Upon inspection upstairs I discovered that the dusting occurred around the items on the furniture, the fans were not cleaned nor were the blinds in the bathroom. I was ready to chalk it up to miscommunication until I was told I owed $354 for 2 hours and 21 minutes of their presence. I told them what I would pay based on the $77 an hour. I hired this company to clean my rental after the tenants moved out, never again! They arrived an hour late after I had to call the office and inform them. Then after only 30 minutes of cleaning the home (3 bdrms, 1.5 bath) they requested to have the final walkthrough with me!! Seriously? How can you finish so quickly? Do not use Cleaning MDS. The owner is disorganized. He cannot keep track of a schedule request. Also he does not appear to vet or train his employees. While some employees did a professional job, one employee made an unmade bed by pulling up the bed cover. Some employees did not clean the shower ceiling or the upper part of the walls.
