As the wife of a 20yr retired Navy Mechanic/ GSE Trouble Shooter I do not usually have to look outside of our home for a reliable mechanic for my 2004 4x4 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Unfortunately when my Jeep started to just not sound right my husband was working DOD overseas and not due to return until August. So I took it to a chain store where we got our tires. They did a diagnostic (that I paid for) and gave me a list totaling almost $1800. I paid for the diagnostic and got out of there. Went down the street to another popular place and oh they could beat that by $100. My soon to be son in law had mentioned Clay County Transmission so I went by there just as they were closing the doors. Instead of locking the doors their consultant, Chris, came out to see what I needed. He read over the other quotes I had and immediately told me that half of it was "snake oil" sales. WOW! Honest reply from the start. Then he told me he would be happy to check out my Jeep for FREE to see what work it actually needed. Seriously?? I just wasted $$ up the road for the very same thing! I made arrangements to drop it off the next day! By lunch he had called and told me their mechanic suggested a valve gasket change and to change the spark plugs. My total bill was just over $330 and the work was done that very same day. THANK YOU!!!!!! CLAY COUNTY TRANSMISSION has earned my trust and I no longer have to worry about vehicle repairs when my husband has to be away. Thank you, Chris Leese, and your team at the Middleburg branch of Clay County Transmission. A very grateful customer, Christi W. read more

My name is Teresa Califano Holloway. I called Rick on a Monday about a possible Clutch/Pressure Plate and/or Transmission problem with my Trans-Am 2000 5.7L 350 with 6 speed manual. He went out of his way to listen to my description of the issue. Based on what I told him he concurred that it was probably best not to attempt to drive the Trans-Am up to them. I had it towed in on flat bed. Thank goodness I did. It turned out something called the "Pilot Bearing" got lodged somewhere it should not have and it was leaking around the seals. I am the only owner of this vehicle so it has been garage kept is in excellent condition. Rick called me back the same day to advise the car arrived safely and that they would assess the car and he would give me a call the following day later in the morning. Both times calls came to me on time with the updates. The estimate to fix the car and advise of a potential "part based on the age of the car should be replaced, however was not faulty" I proceeded to thank him for letting me know and go ahead and replace that part also. I got a call early Thursday afternoon to let me know the car was ready. This entire team did an excellent job of keeping me informed on my "pet car" as well as doing an exceptional job fixing it. The car is performing like it always did. Thank you guys - job well done. read more

Need transmission work? Consider Clay County Transmission. I drive an old Buick and the transmission was in bad shape. The car only has just over 100,000 miles so I didn't want to sell it. I took it to Clay County Transmission and they took real good care of me. Part of my problem was also a bad driver's side CV axle as well and they replaced it. Two weeks later, I took it for the check up to make sure the transmission was holding up well and it was. Just this week however, after an alignment at a different shop, I was informed that the CV axle Clay County put in there had a faulty boot leaking grease. I took it back to Clay County Transmission and they took care of me again. It was under warranty. Clay County Transmission has great workers, fair price, and excellent customer service! I'm so grateful and thankful they got my land yacht back on the road. So, if you need work on your transmission, go see Rick at Clay County Transmission! Be blessed y'all! Jesus is Lord! read more

1st thing 1st. Your search is done. Don't even bother researching other transmission companies to see what is best. This is it. I have done the research. I went to this location years ago with my Acura. I knew the owner. When I went back on 1/2/19, I found out the owner I knew sold it. I admit I was a bit nervous. I'm like many other people and do not trust mechanics. I spoke with Eric and he assured me and they would take good care of my car. I knew I had transmission problems anyway based on a noise I was hearing. Welllll, I was in for a shock. I DID NOT have transmission problems. I did have 2 broken brackets that were holding the engine in place. That is what was making the noise. I was showed the parts. All of the mechanics and owner could have lied and said I was right, it was transmission and charged me over $2500.00, but they are honest. It didn't cost that much at all. Honesty is what will bring me back. Hopefully not too soon though. read more

Started having trouble with the clutch in my car on a Friday, and called for a quote. I was told he could order the parts Monday and could be two days for parts, then a day or two to do the work. I drop the car off Monday and by the afternoon I got an update call that the vehicle was already disassembled and the delivery on the part was faster than expected. Tuesday around 10 am I got a call that the job was done, but they had found one of my hub bearing Assembly was grinding. I already knew this and had priced the part. He quoted me the part for less than i could find it which paid for the labor in my view, so i had them do the hub as well. Tuesday afternoon update call that the car was finished! These guys have been great, came in less $ than I expected and 2 days ahead of schedule. Car runs fantastic and am very pleased with the service performed on my vehicle as well as the customer service they provided. Thanks guys for the excellent experience! read more

I have come to really rely on CCT. Al has really helped me with a huge job with my truck. I was struggling trying to decided what I could get fixed and what would have to wait. Al worked with me and helped worked things out to make me safe and get everything done. My husband is a retired MARINE. CCT honored my husband and my service to our country. WE will forever support CCT. Thank you Al and the CCT team your continued support of the men and women of the military service is GREATLY appreciated. The work you did in April and the work now for a completely different issue has restored my trust in the automotive repair industry. I appreciate you. Thanks so much CCT. God bless and keep all of you and your families. read more

My daddy brought my Honda to your shop just a few minutes ago, and you discovered it to be 3.5 quarts low on oil. I was afraid the transmission was failing, due to the strange noise that I was hearing. You have no idea how much it blessed my heart that you extended your hand of love and grace to my daddy and to me today. I just wanted to thank you for your help, and for topping off the engine with oil. I will be praying specifically for the Lord to bless your family, and your business. May he extend your boarders, expand your Christian witness, and your Christian influence in our community. Thank you again. read more

They even showed and explained the repair thoroughly! I now have a my very own "go to" mechanic shop! Keep it up guys and again, THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart!!!! read more

I had my truck serviced here and I left a happy customer. They had my transmission rebuilt within a week. I assume the price is fair but I didn't call around for quotes. My fiancé's dad recommended this place. They were upfront with what my issue was and also replaced an oil seal as a courtesy which was real nice. They didn't charge me labor for it, just the part. Overall I am really happy with experience and would recommend this place to anyone. read more

CCT are the best mechanics in town. The owner is a veteran who tells it like it is. Not in a bad way, but in a way you know he's not trying to make you pay tons of money. I have been bringing my truck here for the past three years for anything from transmission services all the way to having the motor swapped. I love this place and am always recommending them to friends, family, and coworkers. read more

I was referred to Clay County Transmission by another auto repair shop. Best thing that ever happened. My 2001 Chrysler PT Cruiser needed a transmission control module and it was taken care of in just a day. I dealt with Rick Nelson who was knowledgeable and pleasant. The car has never shifted better. The work was first class all the way. Deal with this business with complete confidence. read more
