EVERYTHING. we wandered around the town knocking on every door of hotels and pubs to no avail and tried the next town Goodwick without much hope. Most places were also closed, but lucky Farmhouse Kitchen, a small cafe that serves burgers and sandwiches were still opened. My boyfriend ordered a burger, I ordered a lemon chicken sandwich, he got a soda water, and the total was 15 quid. Not that cheap given the quality of food, but at least opened. Food was reasonable and service was great. It's two floors and you order and pay at the top floor with a huge parking lot in the back. Strange little place that fed us okay.

A top quality deli at the westernmost point of the British isles. Manned (womanned?) by a dedicated group at the back of the shop who will knock you up a sandwich to go in minutes. Great local cheese counter. Lots of tasty pies, pasties, sausage rolls and scotch eggs. A couple of shelves of excellent white and red wines. And lots and lots of great quality bits and bobs from chocolates to pasta to dairy products. It's really well curated and the sort of place you'd expect to cost the earth. But it really doesn't. Very fair prices. A large baguette packed full of whatever you want will cost less than a fiver. We go there every day when we're on holiday and take our booty down to Whitesands for a delicious packed lunch. And when we're cooking, it's a great place to buy posh produce and a bottle of Pouilly Fume to go with the lobster or crab from down the road in Solva. Insider tip. Go early. Lunchtime gets crowded and although they work quickly it will be a bit of a wait if you're getting a packed lunch. This place is an absolute godsend if you like your food and wine. I was there at the end of their opening hours - so get there early. There were musicians sitting there so I guess I missed them playing their stuff. Small but seemed to have every thing that was needed and I bought some scones which were as good as home made. So on your way to or from the boat and it is a Saturday try them for yourself...and I would recommend the scones - small and tasty.

The beef was overcooked, the roast potatoes were burned (almost totally inedible), my wife makes better Yorkshire puddings than were on our plate (doughy and rather flat). The broccoli in cheese sauce was actually pretty good as were the other veggies. The service was good and prompt but they were very busy and several of the young staff seemed a bit overwhelmed. With a little research we discovered they are advertising to hire a cook. That makes sense. It has a very nice pub atmosphere and I particularly liked the Royal Navy cap tallies over the bar.

If you've got a car and wondering where to eat after a day trip in Skomer...this place is perfect for you (IMHO). We initially wanted to go somewhere else as it had 4.5 star rating on yelp but that other place was closed on a Sunday so we re-yelped and found this absolutely fabulous little hidden gem very close to the hotel we were staying at, the Cleddau Bridge Hotel. As we parked the car, we said to ourselves, wow this place is gorgeous and it seems that not too many people know about it. We were super hungry as we'd just spent a day in Skomer and so when the food came it was bliss. EVERYTHING was so delicious and I dare say it's not because we were very hungry. We had the steak and stilton pie, the Sirloin steak with creamy mushroom sauce and gloriously fried fish and chips and ended with the crumble of the day. The pie was simply perfect, the steak was a great showcase of Welsh beef and it's sauce was one of the best mushroom sauce I've had and the battered fish was perfectly fried. Crumble was lovely. Oh dear, I'm hungry just writing this review. OK - now to the visuals. The pub itself and interior is nice and cozy. Quite pretty in fact with cute decorations here and there. And then there's the outside. We would have sat outside if we hadn't been outdoors on an island with no shade for 5-6 hours as the view was just lovely. You could easily come here on a beautiful evening and have a very romantic (and as above, DELICIOUS, meal) seeing the sunset on the River Cleddau. Needless to say that we will be back here again on our next trip in Wales :)

It offers a small but useful selection of food and groceries, including a small selection of fresh vegetables as well as chilled and frozen items, baked goods, wine, beer and snacks. It also sells newspapers (but if you are after a particular one, go early). It is particularly useful for last minute items, and also if you are in the area, self catering on holiday. Friendly staff.
