I have tried several dog groomers to get my Great Danes nails trimmed and all of them failed miserably, giving up after five minutes. My dogs hate people touching their feet. But the amazing dog whisperers at Claws and Paws in DHS had clipped my two Great Danes and my Chaweenie in 20 minutes with no issues. I made the appointment on Monday and they got me in on Thurs. There is a great zen atmosphere inside, the dogs in the waiting area were all chill and relaxed. I was very impressed and appreciated how comforting and careful they treated my 16 year old Chaweenie. My two Danes are 160 lbs. and 180lbs. and were treated with patience and care. I'm very grateful after months of me buying the quiet dremel and multiple clippers and just ending up frustrated. I totally recommend bringing your dog(s) to Claws and Paws it's worth every penny. read more

Absolutely I would highly recommend this business. The owner is so nice it's like taking your fur babies to meemaw's house. You can tell she loves and truly cares for her clients and their fur babies. Now let's talk about how beautiful my mother's two Chihuahuas came out. My mother has been taking her dogs two hours away to be groomed. I found this place on yelp and thought I'd give it a try. Wow I'm so glad I did. Her Chihuahuas look like a different color. We take our 2 dog there a lot and they have always been very good to our dogs.. They always give that little extra attention to the dogs.. My Dog is a Chaweenie, with the attitude of a Chihuahua, the look of a dachshund... Most vets have to muzzle him when he goes in there to see them, not Claws an Paws .. They treat him like he's the rest of the family and he gets along extremely well with all the rest of their pets waiting to be groomed... Pets just know if the people are good and if the people are bad... There's no doubt in my mind that's their hearts are in there job...!! This is about Claws and Paws Pet Grooming in Desert Hot Springs. Let's make it short. We brought our 2 dogs at 1 pm, the owner told us that she was a "little" behind. Define "little"... after several phone calls, we couldn't take it anymore and at 8 pm we went to pick up our dogs, 7 hours! They were still not done and she was working on another dog, instead of doing one at a time and finish the job. not an apology just plain arrogance and a disgusting behavior. I very rarely yell at someone but that was the only way to be heard. My poor dogs were terrified, dying of thirst and my poor Shitzu was shaking, her skin irritated and red. This woman doesn't give a s...t about her customers and their pets. 0 professional ethic and manners. Run away from that place. read more

I took my toy Pomeranian here for the first time for a nail trim. Darlene (owner) and Michelle were so welcoming and sweet. As soon as we walked in, we were greeted with smiles and reassurance that our baby would be well taken care of. Michelle trimmed her nails and she was well taken care of! Michelle even gave her a toy! From the moment we walked in to the moment we left the shop, it took about 10 minutes altogether. The price was also very reasonable for the service. I know some people say they take too long but I honestly see how busy they can get and some dogs can be difficult to keep still, so in my opinion I don't mind them taking to long, because I rather them take there time and do an amazing job. I just read the response from the owners to my response 7 months ago! How dare you say I'm being dramatic!!!! This is my baby and he was literally abused. For him to be happy to go in and out of grooming and then be scared to death after seeing you guys is not a coincidence. Not only that, I am NOT THE ONLY REVIEW SAYING HOW TERRIBLE YOY GUYS ARE. In fact, the reviews left besides mine have the exact same complaints. I think delusional is what you people are and I don't ever write bad reviews!! If you look at my history, I support businesses and have had some bad experiences but don't review them because that's not me. However, when I see abuse like this!!!!!!!! Also reported by others!!!!!! I will absolutely say something. Maybe focus on how to care for the pets you have under your negligent care over writing a novel to me about how great you are. Service is good but they keep the dogs way too long. I've gone about 3 times where I drop my dogs off at morning/noon, and they won't be ready until 9pm ! In my opinion that's an excessive amount of time to keep my dogs, what was the purpose of an appointment time? 9pm is too late to go pick up my dogs from the groomer considering they were dropped off at noon. read more

This is hands down the best groomer I have ever been too. I have a very finicky bischon frise and everyone else just shaves him. But the attention to detail this place takes ! They carefully shaved around areas you want to grow out slower ( butt, eyes) then left it long in places like his cheeks and head, really took their time ,he looked amazing! This is the best pet groomer in the Coachella Valley. I am shocked how many negative reviews she has because she has always taken great care of my dog and she has always smelled and looked amazing. My dog not the owner haha. Although I bet the owner probably smells pleasant as well, I just don't go around smelling other people . Please ignore the negative reviews I like to give my dog a playdate whatever she gets her haircut, I feel like it's less stressful and more fun for her. I appreciate a person that actually takes their time and does quality work. Over a person that rushes and has clients in and out, this is not McDonald's. If I go to get my haircut done and I am out of the salon in 5 or 10 minutes I feel duped, because I feel like that hairstylist didn't care and just rushed me to get as many customers as they can. What puts this place over the top and better than every other dog groomer in the valley is that they actually give your dog a certificate that your dog was great. It feels like you just won a dog pageant. I just wish they did cats too. I would love to take my three cats in to be cleaned and groomed. read more

If you live in DHS this is the place to go for your pets. totally trustworthy, I have 2 beautiful Golden Retrievers and I called at the last minute and this great ladies were able to take my dogs. They did a great job. I'm so grateful to have found this place. It is abundantly clear Claw N Paws loves dogs and cares about the pets. They were gentle, never rushed, and extremely thoughtful in her grooming. She keeps the my dog's safety and one of my dogs suffers from anxiety and I was worry , however after seeing how happy he was , I knew then I had found a great place to take my large dogs. We took our mini poodle here to get her clean and a hair cut for a couple of hours she was their when we went to go pick her up the lady said that she accidentally dropped her. Once we brought her home she limped instead of walking and we waited until she got better but she got worse because she couldn't walk anymore nor eat or drink by herself at all so we decided to take her to the animal hospital and they told us that she was paralyzed from the waist down and that through everything since she was very traumatized and they told us we had a couple of options either we could get her an MRI and get her surgery which would've cost $10,000 which was way to much for us, or let her be in a little cart to help her move around but life would've been really tough for her, or the easiest and the one that wouldn't cost the most would be to euthanize her which was very sad for us because we had to choose that because all of those other options were not really available for us so sadly she had to pass away this is a very sad moment in our lives that we couldn't even control she was perfectly healthy, happy before she came to that place. So pretty much they practically killed our dog that we've been having for about 10 or so years. NEVER EVER go to this place ever it's not worth it read more

The phone just rings. I'm sure it is impossible to answer a phone while grooming, so get a voicemail and call people back later, right? HASSLE after HASSLE after HASSLE, no stars, ABSOLUTELY cannot recommend, simply just unprofessional. The first time I went there, I dropped my pooch off around 11. I asked when I could pick him up; the owner explained to me she was short staffed and it wouldn't be till 4. When I didn't a call by 4:30, I called and I was told about an hour. Then I got a call saying it would be another half hour. So at 6, I took off on the 25 minute drive to go get him, showed up at 6:25.... he still wasn't ready, so I just sat around and waited. The owner apologized profusely and gave me a discount; feeling compassion for her long day, knowing how that goes, I still gave her a decent tip. Never mind my poor baby was cooped up for 7 hours and starving. When it was time to get him clipped again. I called and left a message..... no call back for 8 days. So I called again, got the owner, again she apologized and said her daughter usually doesn't make that mistake. So, I made an appt. got him in there. When I went to pick it up, I was informed they don't take credit cards. I was pretty surprised by that in this day and age. The owner said she willing to take a check. I told her I didn't usually carry a check book anymore because it's most obsolete and most street/retail businesses don't even take checks. To my saying this, one of her employees retorted that she always carries her checkbook "just in case"... so, I had to drive 25 minutes home and back again. When I told the owner I'm just done doing business with them.... SHE SHRUGGED her SHOULDERS. I told her my primary reason was the unnecessary retort of her employee as I turned to the door. The owner yelled nasty remarks I couldn't really hear I just walked out the door.... AVOID this PLACE!!!!!!!! And following is the owners rather rude response,I had a 7 year quality relationship with my last groomer, so clearly this woman does NOT care about customer service, the care of the dogs, and integrity: "That's fine you can tell all the people in your RV park whatever you would like but my side of this is you walk in with a look on your face and an attitude like nobody can make you happy and you know I cannot apologize for my daughter's comment about her checkbook but I can apologize for my actions because telling you to have a nice happy life the way I did was not godly and for that I do apologize and I'm sorry that I only take cash and not card I'm sorry that was another inconvenience to you and which is why I gave you an additional $5 off so I just want to leave this on a decent note I apologize for my actions I did try to accommodate you by giving you a little extra off because you had to go back home but whatever you tell everybody in your RV park is what it is there's nothing I can do about it I cannot please everybody have a great day" read more

My mom took our English bulldog to claws and paws grooming today and when she picked him up, found that he was unable to open his eyes. Not sure if it was shampoo or that stupid spray they use to make them smell nice but we will never take our pets there again. We tried rinsing out his eyes with water but they are super irritated and he cries when he tries opening them. Now we are on our way to the vet. NEVER AGAIN. read more

I rate them WORSE then a 0 zero! The first time I took my 2 cats in, I asked for a Lion cut, and they did a great job. The other day, I took them in, and they were butchered! They cut off one side of my cat's whiskers, chopped up his head unevenly, and was supposed to leave the head, neck, and mane alone! My cats were nicked, and did one cat's ears, and not the other. Kept them for 8 hours. I took my dog in at 9 am. She wasn't even ready at 4 pm!! They are NOT consistent, and did a lousy job on my dog. She always has an excuse for the POOR, and bad quality work, as it is NEVER their fault!! They have shady people hanging out there, too. This is my third experience, AND LAST, with this lady. I'm not going to waste my time writing what Chelsea V. wrote only to say "WHAT SHE SAID" !!!! Word for word!!!!! Doesn't call, doesn't care about how long you are waiting or who you may have further appointments during the day. This last time cost me a client. The time before cost me a doctor appointment that I made two months previous and was late because this lady didn't show up for work until an hour later than scheduled. They refused my appointment that day. Smokey hadn't been in a cage in his life until going to her. Then she takes in so many others during the day that the dogs are caged for hours. Food and water??? Smokey is 8 months old, when did he eat that day? He drank water like nothing when he got home. Then today I noticed how crappy of detailing she did. TERRIBLE for the money. Oh, yea, she tried to take off $5 because I "waited" so long. I made this appointment 2 1/2 weeks ago and told her that I wanted him in first and out by 1pm. No calls.
