In this case, The Peaks Pet Nanny was hands down the company that met all of my criteria. Additionally, they were highly recommended to me by a friend of mine and one of their long-term customers. On my first phone call to The Peaks Pet Nanny, I spoke with Gina, who owns the business with her husband, Patric. During our conversation, she answered all of my questions. I found her to be bright, articulate, knowledgeable, and professional. In less than half an hour, I had a schedule worked out. She transmitted me all the necessary paperwork and advised me she would call me with the information on the dog walker they were arranging for me. Shortly after that, Gina called me and told me about who would be walking my dog. Within a minute of her scheduled time of arrival, the walker, a wonderful young woman named Olivia, appeared at my front door. Olivia is an experienced dog walker who is kind, compassionate, and the most punctual individual I've ever met. In the month that I've used the service, Olivia has never been more than three or four minutes late. When my dog sees her, he goes crazy. It's the happiest time of his day. He leaves with his tail wagging and returns smiling, panting, and tired. Exactly what we were looking for. Recently Olivia took a much-needed vacation for a few days. I made a phone call to Patric. Within half an hour, he provided me with a substitute walker, Debbie, another experienced dog walker who lives within walking distance of my home and who, like Olivia, is kind, compassionate, and professional. On Debbie's first day, Patric called me to confirm that everything worked out, and I was satisfied with the temporary arrangements, which of course, I was. From the first to the last days Kristy kept me in the loop how Denali was doing with text messages, Facebook Messages and lots of pics. It looked like Denali was having so much fun that she wasn't going to want to come home! I just picked Denali up and thank G-d she remembered me and literally leapt into my arms as she recognized the whistle that I have for her. She looks GREAT! The green bean and kibble diet has worked like a charm and she is back to her svelt self! I was also pleasantly surprised that while I had not packed enough green beans that Kristy and Allen had gone out of their way and purchased enough for her to last the rest of the stay. As I was getting my dog I was informed in a very nasty tone that I would not be charged this time but next time I would be. When I questioned this, being that it was literally 3 minutes, I was attacked. I was screamed at...cursed at...told I was inconsiderate, that we could no longer do business together. I was then blocked from and bashed on the personal Facebook page of the owner. This has happened to not one, not two and not even three other people that I know of....there have been several incidents of this nature that I have been told about. I have seen the unprofessional bashing of customers on Facebook as well. If this is the type of customer service that would make you want to do business with this establishment then I would highly recommend Golden Delight Kennels! After how I was treated I would rather drive to the other side of the County or even into Orange County before doing business with an establishment like this.

Two of my dogs have had terrible diarrhea for 5 days now. They had a clean bill of health from the vet prior to boarding. Their bedding was in such sad shape we had to throw all of it out and when questioned about the conditions, we were told that she is unable to keep the dog runs dry enough so she left them to sleep on the cold damp concrete. The night we picked them up we had to take one of them to an emergency vet for a massive UTI as our dog was in distress and pain. My oldest dog is also unable to bear weight on his right leg now. They are traumatized and sick, and we will NEVER bring them back to her again. When asked if we could be refunded at least the emergency vet costs, she refused.

I gave specific instructions on how medicine was to be administered and it was on the box also and they gave 3 times as much. I called to several times to see how my dog was doing and they said he was doing great. My dog was in good health when dropped off and had just seen the Vet. My dog could not walk by the time he was picked up. He had a UTI and explosive diarrhea in the car. He was missing patches of hair around his anus. (I suspect this had been going on for days and they let the explosive diarrhea go on for days and just combed out the feces from his fur to the point he has bald patches around his anus). I called and the owner finally admitted "Oh, I was wondering why patches of fur were coming out". And then admitted to me he was never given a bath after being in constant urine and feces. If you expect your dog will get medical care when it gets sick at this place ... guess again. I am guessing - by the shape my dog is in that this has been going on for at least a week - and I was being told he was okay. If I could upload the pictures, I would. When you drop off your dog, ask what they will do if it gets sick. When I called every time they lied and said my dog was okay. If they had told the truth, I would have had my Vet visit the kennel and prescribe him medication. (I would have set everything up all on my own. All they had to do was be truthful). Unfortunately, I finally looked at their YELPP reviews and two other owners have had the SAME EXACT THING OCCUR. (When the dog gets sick, they cover it up). Makes no sense. The first thing they should do is inform the owner. PLEASE CHECK YELP BEFORE YOU SEND YOUR DOG HERE. And if you do choose to send your dog here. Make sure your Vet does out of office visits/home visits. And demand they call you immediately if your dog gets sick and you can arrange for your Vet to come to Dog Mountain Lodge; because these people will not tell you that your dog is sick ... even when you call repeatedly and ask how your dog is doing.
