The Tailors Cat

I am getting married next year, so have been around a few of the bridalwear shops in the area (not…read morethat there are very many in Cambridge city to begin with!). This was the first place I tried - and it was by far the best! You do have to book in advance if you want to try on wedding dresses as it gets very busy, especially on weekends. There's a room downstairs for private fittings, where (once you've made your appointment) you can try on dresses to your heart's content! The service is fantastic and the staff really professional and patient. If you tell them you have to stick to a budget they will try to accommodate you. The range of dress styles is amazing too. If like me, the blancmange doesn't do it for you, there are plenty of really classy, simple dresses in there - everything from fishtail to column dresses - you name it! Ironically I ended up buying the second dress I ever tried on - after then trying on endless other bridal dresses! The service is fantastic - there's no hard sell or any of that rather intimidating aura you sometimes get in these kinds of stores. I've recommended this shop to several of my friends.

Emma and her team are so helpful that you will surely be overjoyed with the service they can give you and the advice you receive. A must if you are getting married.

I saw a bike in here, a really nice vintage bike for £50! That's cheaper than some new ones and it looked so much better, more classy! I LOVE THIS STORE…read more If this store were in the US, I would go there everyday. Ok, not everyday, that is weird. But at least once a week. I went to Cambridge in the summer of 2005 and went to this place on a recommendation from a U.S. friend who had been there like, 5 years earlier. This store is like a U.S. Urban Outfitters but 39495859 times better. Very hip and stylish. The clothes are awesome and not too expensive either.

But if you want a trendy alternative to the Top Shops of this world, I would definitely recommend Cult. They have pretty good sales too!

It has a nice cinema, a music shop, and (i hope it is still there) an awesome cart that sold the best dried fruit and baklava ever. The location in the city centre makes it sometimes exciting to leave your quiet room, sad you may think but it is quite thrilling. After my morning activities, I walk few mins to the bus stop to catch the park and ride bus all the way to the city centre. Then walk a short distance through the park to Grafton centre, where I fill my eyes with the things I can't afford and the things I can definitely go home with me. After all the shopping and the tired feeling, I stop at one of the restaurants to have my lunch before going home. It is a great way to spend ones Saturday and for family shopping.

They sell all kinds of things, from party type outfits to jeans, vest tops and coats. Compared to the little store in my town, this one is huge and is lovely to walk around.
