We arrived on time and we were warmly greeted by the captain and 2 crew. After a basic safety briefing we charted out towards Culebra in overcast weather. Instead of Culebra we settled on the uninhabited beach of Caya Luis Pena before Culebra with crystal clear waters in about 20 minutes. The waters were translucent clear turquoise and beach sand was pristine. Water temp was around 79-80F. Weather was overcast and comfortably cool. They laid out a simple light sandwich buffet for lunch with beers and tropical cocktails. Snorkeling, swimming and relaxing for a few hours, we spotted small schools of fish and a very cool bachelor Stingray circling looking for scraps. Crew was incredibly friendly and helpful and everyone enjoyed the short beach visit. The return trip was much smoother and after jumping back on the bus we were able to stop by a bbq joint for coconuts and fried stuffed empanadas.

Buying our tickets and getting all the info we needed before our experience was a breeze. We all felt confident headed into the trip. Finding the harbor was equally easy. Now onboard the boat is really what earns this a 5 star review. And even more specifically, our guides are the real 5 stars. Oscar, Eric, Thalia, Naty are THE crew you want to go on a trip with. Each were so kind, so accommodating, and contributed to making these memories last a life time. Of course, they highly emphasized safety as well. During our snorkling we saw sea turtles, tons of fish, and even saw a dolphin at Icacos (apparently they're a regular!) The food was delicious, shout out to the chef! Exactly what you want to eat when you've been in the sun and water all day. Filling, delicious, but not heavy. Drinks were good and generous. Alcoholic and non alcohol available for everyone's taste. Everyone agreed this was their favorite activity and we also ziplined at Toro Verde and did the bioluminescent bay kayaking in Fajardo (also great experiences, but this was just THAT GREAT).

No shoes on the boat, but you can still bring them with you, just got to keep them in your bag. There are two levels, the second being smaller, I believe they said that they can accommodate up to 50 people maybe, but 29 of us packed it really tight. You get a safety briefing. The staff is bi-lingual, energetic, and funny. For my plus size peeps, this is a size friendly excursion. The stairs are big enough to get in and out and they will get your floating safety belt on that body, comfortably. They do sanitize the gear right in front of you, but they also don't require you use the mask and fins. They also give this homemade delicious lunch & of course, drinks with rum. You snorkel for an hour and then spend time at the beach for an hour. If you get motion sickness, take it prior and you should be fine. Would definitely go into the sea with this crew again. *captain featured in the second picture! Thanks for getting us there and back safely captain

Every time we visit an island in the Caribbean, we like to do a snorkel trip if possible. Quite…read morefrankly, I picked this one over the others simply based on what they offered for lunch! The reality is, several of the other tours that leave from the same place and go to the same island, Icacos, all follow the same itinerary for the same length of time. Really, the only difference is what they serve for lunch. If you drive yourself, you park on the street, which, in the early morning, wasn't an issue, and wait by the front gate of the marina. They come with a golf cart to pick you up and take you back to the boat. There are restrooms on the dock that you can use before boarding. There is also a restroom on the boat. Once on the boat, they go over safety instructions, and then they set sail. You can see the destination from the harbor, and it was a nice trip over to the island. They anchor the boat right next to several other tours, and you can go down a staircase into the water, and then wade to shore if you want to sit on the beach. Or, you can take the snorkel equipment and start snorkeling right then and there. Note, you are not allowed to take home any shells or coral from this island as it is a preserve. After spending a little more than an hour on the island, you can head back on board for lunch. They have a basket of the most amazing bread, then a spread of lunch meat and other fillings to make an amazing sandwich. They had a big bowl of fruit, chips, crackers, cookies, everything that made for a great meal. We aren't drinkers, but from the time you left the harbor throughout the entire trip, the drinks were flowing for anyone was interested. However, there is no pressure to partake, so those that weren't drinking don't feel singled out. A little while later, they pulled up the anchor and sailed to a reef about 10 or 15 minutes away. At that point everyone is encouraged to get off the boat to snorkel. When the snorkel time was over, we sailed back to the dock. They did throw bits of leftover bread into the water where we were snorkeling, which brought throngs of fish up to that area, so you could see lots of different fish swimming by. That was pretty cool! The crew was exceptionally nice, friendly, and funny. I would highly recommend this tour for anyone looking for a good time on a catamaran.

They played only a handful of Spanish music the rest was catered to the white tourists. The lunch meat was slimy. The buffet was just not good - very basic- no savor. The other word thing was the mother who undressed her little girl in front of if everyone - wiped her down completely while men looked . The father just smiled. It was so weird having a new born, a toddler and school aged kids on a catamaran tour with liquor being served. This was weird and shameful. Don't bother.

When in Puerto Rico, support local! Miguel, boat owner and captain, and his gf are two of the best…read morepeople you'll ever meet! We booked with Miguel for a half day yacht outing for a bachelorette party and it couldn't have gone better! During booking, Miguel was so patient and was able to accommodate our whole party, even when we had a booking mishap and he had to send our booking offer multiple times. As soon as we booked, Miguel sent us a text thanking us and giving us super detailed instructions. The boat - ya'll the boat! The boat was so spacious, comfortable, and clean with ample seating and a bathroom with shower downstairs. As soon as we boarded, Miguel took us to Icacos, where the water was crystalline clear and the sand pristine. It was such a vibe - he let us connect and play our music, and Miguel and his gf were rocking out with us. When we anchored at the island, Miguel started taking out all the goodies from the boat! We had life jackets for the girls who couldn't swim, thick noodles for floatation, snorkel gear to see the fishes, and a giant floatation mat connected to the boat for sunbathing! And then the heavy gear came out - we were so confused when we saw a drone flying near us. It turns out Miguel has a drone he uses to capture footage of the trip that he sends to you in near real time! It was increeeeedible! Miguel's girlfriend is also such a photographer - she took the best angles and even gave us posing tips! During our outing, they surprised us with the best food - we had a charcuterie with cheese, cold cuts, fruits, chips and the best guacamole I've ever had! They also gave us made-to-order burgers - we had salmon, beef, and vegetarian patties as options! I opted for the salmon burger and it was the best I've ever had. Seared to perfection with a self-serve bar of condiments and toppings. The actual best after swimming for so long! Miguel was so great to talk to - we had a conversation about yachts and the cost and upkeep, as well as how the industry is run in PR. You can tell how much Miguel loves sailing by the way he talks about it - he's so passionate, caring, and an absolute delight to talk with. I also have to stop to give special kudos to Miguel's gf! One of our girls got super seasick, and Miguel's girlfriend literally held her hair back for her and gave her dramamine to help with the nausea. I ended up with a huge cut on my foot and she had waterproof bandages and disinfectant at the ready! She really felt like one of the girls and was such an incredible human. In case it isn't crystal clear like the waters of Icacos, Utopia Tours PR is legitimately a slice of utopia. You won't regret coming out - Miguel puts in so much effort and love into every booking, and it shows. If I could give 10000000 stars I would, legit the best yachting experience I've had!

They gave us instructions for snorkeling, and helped everyone to securely fasten their gear. We stopped at three spots for snorkeling. The first one were very close to Icacos Island, which was deliberately in a shallow area, so first time snorkelers like me can get some practice before going into deeper waters. The other two spots we stopped were in the middle of the ocean, among the reefs and vast expanse of the Caribbean Sea. Herbert, an experienced diver that guided our tour, dove down and flipped lots of rocks and caught little star fish, urchins, shrimps, crabs and other interesting creatures for us to see. It was amazing, and something I couldn't have done if I were on my own. Snorkeling is such an easy sport, even though I've only swan in water parks before, I find it easy to swim the sea with no problem. Lunch was prepared by them, with cold cuts, cheese and sandwich bread. I'm not a fan of these type of food, but I didn't expect hand pulled noodles in the middle of the sea either. Food was not the point of this trip anyway. If you don't like these food, you can always bring snacks and just put them in the cabin downstairs. In the end, we sailed by this small piece of land and saw iguanas climbing up the trees. It was really nice. I learned about this tour rather late, so I didn't meet the book online window (at least 12 hours ahead), had to call in and make reservation. I would recommend everyone taking advantage of their online booking system, it is real-time and you get $10 off.

It is a fairly priced experience that includes good food, drinks, and is ultimately a great day not at the office. The positives are all over the reviews. My picture is from the charter even. Let's talk about what happened to detract from our experience. Captain Dan drank openly and had at least two Medalla cans of beers on the way back into port. This is unacceptable on a paid charter. Really big deal. I'm not sure what the laws are on this but my pilot, Cab driver, bus driver, doctor, and anyone else responsible for the well being of others can wait to drink after hours. Captain Dan started the charter with a quick argument with Charlie. He used the explicit and profane language quite loudly without apologies. The first stop was supposed to be 150 minutes but was only 70 minutes including the meal; so no beach time. The whole charter ended at 3:30 which was an hour short. The snorkel mask had a poor seal which allowed water into the mask. No legit snorkel vests also. The stops were really choppy. This was not snorkeling for a beginner. I can't imagine anyone doing these stops with no experience. There were strong currents near big rocks. The ladder on back was challenging with as much bobbing as the ship did on stop 2. I can imagine older folks having a really hard time. He can't control water but can pick stops accordingly. The commentary was really poor. We learned about the boat, his business plans, and his thoughts on politicians. Information on sailing, the ecology, the reef, or even the history of Puerto Rico wasn't there. I can't tell you the name of the islands, boats, currents, or anything like that. No sailing chart was shown. I can tell that Four Seasons and Disney are interested in investing in the West coast and some things about the US Treasury. The bathroom sink has not worked since at least a month. He made an announcement about it. I was able to glean this from a few TripAdvisor references. So food prep and guest hand washing happens in the same sink. Get the folks some hand sanitizer. They do a great job on prepping for motion sickness because it will be a ride against the currents with some choppy waters. I'm surprised I didn't get it. I had a good time because I was on vacation and on a boat with great weather. Charlie was great, too. The marina was amazing and there was even a shower facility. I wouldn't go back, though.

We stopped to admire a ship that is going to be used in the next Pirates of the Caribbean movie before heading out to the open water. Ingrid and Dan were more than accommodating. They even let a few who wanted to sail the boat take the helm. One was a born natural. We got to our main snorkel site where we were told we would have about 1.5 - 2 hours to enjoy the water before lunch would be ready. For those of us who had not snorkeled before, he took his time to explain how to put on the mask and how to use the snorkel. He made sure we were all outfitted with the appropriate size flippers as well. He made sure we all had swim buddies and told us what kind of sea life we'd see in the area. The lunch they provided was amazing and plentiful. (I LOVED the mango salsa). Drinks were plenty (water, soda, beer, and RUM PUNCH!) Ingrid also brought out some fruits and banana bread for snacks later in the day. We were given the option of what we'd like to do next, more sailing or more snorkeling. We ended up on a little sand island with even more clear water. The day just kept getting better and better. When we got back to the marina, Ingrid called our driver to pick us up, and provided us a key to the shower to get rinsed off. All 6 of us girls had a great time. I look forward to going back to Puerto Rico and taking on a new adventure. This is much more exciting and relaxing than one of those over priced catamaran tour boats.

I recommend wearing water shoes as you'll have to walk through thigh deep water to get to the kayak. You want to plan your trip as close to a new moon as possible as you want to eliminate as much light as possible to really see the glow. Annoyingly there is a neighborhood above the lagoon with bright spotlights but facing the water way and lingering near the other side of the lagoon the bioluminescence is still very visible and a total blast. The guides even brought us a tiny jellyfish to observe and see how it glowed as it wiggled in our hands. I wouldn't even bother bringing your phone, I highly doubt you'd be able to capture the glow while holding still enough in a kayak. Navigating the mangroves was tricky because the guides blue lights were just bright enough the destroy our night vision and not see the low hanging branches. I would hope in the future that the guides would switch to red lights to make navigating in the low light easier.

You follow the guide's car in your car to the parking lot and it was no problem. From there, we got on the boat, which was two decks and fairly spacious. We set out on a 45 minute ride to a beach that was deserted and gorgeous. We swam and did some snorkeling there for about an hour before moving to a different spot just down the way for some real snorkeling. The marine life was much more abundant here and we saw sting rays, turtles, and a bevy of fish. On the way back, we got a wrap that we had pre-selected back at check-in and unlimited drinks, both alcoholic and non.
