We stumbled past the storefront while walking on a food tour or Reykjavik (something you MUST try), and the exterior was so inviting that we made a note that we needed to return. The inside is fun and vibrant. The ROYGBIV bookshelf bar counter is pleasing to the eyes, and the jet red chairs and chairs and lamp shades give a vibe of a cozy yet trendy coffee shop. The food was incredible and was affordable. You should definitely try one of the local beers. I'm not lying when I say, Iceland Beer is some of the best beer I have ever had, and I'm bummed you can't find it in the states. Viking beer was my absolute favorite. This location was very welcoming and the staff extremely hospitable. It's also located in the heart of Reykjavik. It's a must try place if you find yourself in the land of Fire & Ice! Cheers!!

After some research on "montvask " places in Copenhagen, I found the Laundromat cafe. The guy was nice to instruct on the use of the machine. It only takes 10 DKK coins and the soap comes out of the machine so I was relieved because I did not bring any detergent. The cashier was nice to give me change. The wash is 50 DKK and the dry cycle was 10 DKK for 7 minutes. I had a small load and it is a huge dryer so it took my clothes only 7 minutes to dry anyways. While waiting for the laundry to finish, you can sit inside and enjoy the free internet. Or you can eat in the cafe. We did not try the food as I wanted to try next door's food which I bookmarked via Yelp. There are also boutique shops to peruse while waiting for your laundry.

So I came here expecting to waste a whole day without much happening. Although my process got off to a bad start due to being redirected to the wrong section twice Must blame it on the new ticket system and the employees getting used to it), the third time I was called (about 2 and a half hours after my arrival) I was processed with everything in the one day. The staff are very friendly if you are friendly to them, and more than willing to help you start your life in Copenhagen. Although the main detractors for me were the wait and that I was sent to see the wrong people three times (it seemed this was quite common on the day), I would recommend that you head in before they open in the morning to give yourself the best chance of getting in and out quickly, have all of your documents (Passport/contracts etc) and then you can come out with residence, CPR, SKAT (tax) all complete in half a day! Facilities that you can use while waiting are free wifi (very important) a printer and copier in case you forgot to make copies of everything, which believe me, you will need. In short, it wasn't what I can refer to as a great experience, but what bureaucratic processes really are? This place makes it easy, and you can always be expected to be served with a smile.....when you do get through the waiting. All of CPR/Tax/EU Registration in one place makes it easy, plus I got free tickets to a museum to welcome me!

The first place I went to was closed and looked perhaps permanently closed, but then I found Møntvask (Vascandia). I agree with the reviewer who said the instruction are a bit opaque, but you can use your Google Translate camera feature or, if you were lucky like I was, have a nice elderly Danish man help you. Once figured out, the system is easy and best of all you can pay with a credit card (tap and go). This added feature was greatly appreciated since I only had Euro in cash and the machine only takes coins. The machine came with its own soap (which was a nice touch) and the dryer dried even jeans in 24 minutes. The cost was about $12 total. Also, unlike the substantive other review here, I found this laundromat to be clean and comfortable.

Møntvask is simply a laundromat. This one is nice, clean, big, with many laundry machines,…read morecentrifuges, and dryers. It is equipped with table, so you have a place to fold your laundry. There is an option to purchase soap, but it's recommend to use your own. Prices are average. These days, not so many people use laundromats and I think we will see less and less of them here.
