For 130 NOK or about $13 US Dollars I bought a soda can, loaf of bread, and 2 sandwiches. If I bought this at the fish market it would have cost $50 at least. That was done quickly!…read more I think I've only been visiting Kløverhuset for specific shops the latter years, cause when I revisited on Saturday for "shopping" with friends, I was disappointed and surprised to experience how boring it us. I think the highlights are the dress shop Coast, the Day Birger et Mikkelsen on the first floor and the Netty lingerie in the basement. You will also find nice, expensive designer's wear at Scabal, but there's a high risk that you will find the same clothes on every second 14-year-old in the city, who's parents have either too much money or bad conscience, or a combination of the two. The centre is the oldest in the city, dating back to 1852, so I'm cheering on Kløverhuset and hope they find a better mix of shops and services to put themselves back into the game.

Mainly Scandinavian design, and definitely put together for the Scandinavian taste. The location is just across the road for one of the entrances to the big, underground parking house "Klostergarasjen", so you don't have to carry your new crushes long to get them home with you. Illums is the place to go for gift shopping, for inspiration, for setting up your wedding present list or for finding everything you need to decorate your home. The centre is popular, but not crowded, and pricey without ruin you. A treat for a rainy day.

I stopped by the Bergen location a…read moreweek ago and found a mountain of beautifully designed items from salad servers, candle holders, lamp shades to calculators. The store is conveniently located downtown and the perfect stop for anyone with discerning tastes or anyone shopping for those with discerning tastes. If you're not stopping, I still recommend stopping by for a look to experience great design. During the holidays, they have specials on unique items everyday. They have the day and the highlighted item posted on the window and wall right when you enter.

Living 3 hours north of Bergen, in…read morea town with limited options for shopping, our day trips to the city of Bergen, taking the bus early in the morning, was centered around the visit to Galleriet. And one still can not avoid it. It's located in the heart of the city, on Torgallmenningen. Seven floors of shops and services offers you everything from a haircut to cheap dining, from books, via clothes and accessories to groceries. What used to be a dream of a shopping centre, has however turned in to a centre I am trying to avoid. I think it's me who has changed, cause the centre is more or less the same as it was 20 years ago. So what is it I do not like? The seven floors can, and will, contain a lot of people. It's always crowded, and for me I get a feeling of stress the moment I step inside. Also the shops are not all that interesting, without me being able to point a finger on why. The reasons why I still drop by: the chocolate shop on the corner, the farmacy that is located few steps from my bus stop, the sandwich / coffee cafeteria on the first floor, offering free crossaints along with your coffee before 10 a.m. and the book store Norli. Also every now and then I am forced to use the escalators to other floors to look for last minute birthday gifts, or visit the the grocery store in the basement, that is untidy and overprized, but still have a great variety of fresh produce.

Bergen Storsenter is a good shopping center in Bergen, Norway. Not a large mega mall, but it is…read morenot tiny either. Fine mix of retail shops ranging from grocery stores to snack kiosks to clothing shops to pharmacies, and everything in between. Get ready to pay more than in the United States. Norway is an expensive country to live in. Clas Ohlson and Meny were my two favorite stores here. My only complaint would be the tight parking spaces. Be very careful when opening your vehicle's doors. Overall, though, Bergen Storsenter is a nice place to browse and pick up a few items.

Esthetically speaking, Bergen Storsenter is not beautiful, but this multilevel mall area is a nice…read moreplace to escape any potential bad weather you may find in Bergen (since it rains a lot here) and maybe grab a quick lunch or buy something you didn't know you needed. The stores here are the same as you'd find in any mall I've been to in Norway so nothing really impressed me or wow'd me in terms of variety, but it was easy to navigate around and was overall pretty clean. In keeping with Norway traditions, keep your 10 Kroner on you so you have it ready in the event you need to use the restroom. It's connected to a Ton hotel which is convenient if you're a guest there. Honestly, nothing really blew my mind here. I stopped in because I had an entire day in Bergen and the city is pretty small so eventually you just find yourself at places. Okay overall, but there are so many beautiful sights to see here in Bergen that if you're a tourist you don't need to rush here.

If we had TGR in America I would be spending all my hard earned coins here on things I truly don't…read moreneed, so I'll have to stick with spending all my Kroner on things here in Norway! TGR is, in the simplest of terms, a discount store, which fears hundreds of different items you may (or may not) need. For me, it was the cheapest place to find those little things you may have lost or forgotten on vacation- ear buds, lip balm, facial tissues, and things of that nature. Ear buds were $5 USD in comparison to the $20 USD I saw everywhere else. They have toiletries, toys, candies, beverages, and so much more and for having so much inside, it's amazingly organized by these lovely employees who smiled and were in such a good mood while working! I was able to get what I needed, and maybe a few more items and be on my way quickly. I would have bought more, but my luggage can only hold so much, but now I know where to go next time I'm in town.

Established in the building that used to contain the telegraph of Bergen in the old days, the…read morebuilding has the right historical atmosphere and the potential for being the frame for a unique and exclusive shopping centre, and I think that was the idea from start. However; something went wrong along the way. Like for most of the shopping centres in Bergen, they're struggling to stick with the concept. When visiting Saks 5th Avenue, you know what you'll get, likewise if you go to Macy's instead. In Bergen every centre is just a mix of the shops the management company managed to get in there. On Telegrafen you get 4 shops for women's clothing, mainly lower end. You will also find an ok shop for kids' wear, one for menswear, a quite cool shoe store and a good hairdressers. In addition there is a very average lunch café in the middle and a cheap accessorise shop. I've always been fond of Oasis, and for many years a was visiting at least weekly. Spending less time shopping, I still find that Oasis has the shapes, style and colours that I like, at reasonable prices. I hope that the rest of Telegrafen goes back to its original concept and increases its value to me.
