Here is where the real trouble begins. I wound up with five pairs of shoes, only one of which I'd actually ordered, all of which they charged me for. Now I'm supposed to find time in my busy schedule to drag four boxes in to their physical location because these idiots (and I do not use that word lightly) are trying to unload their extra inventory onto customers who ordered something else entirely? Do not shop here. They are bad-faith actors who stock a lot more ugly shoes than decent ones, and their customer service is a nightmare and a joke.

I noticed that the innersole of one of the shoes (made of cork) was starting to disintegrate. I called the SAS store that I purchased them from (in Evanston, IL) and spoke to Linda, the store manager. She looked up the sales and noted that the shoes were over 2 years old. She was not interested anything I said and responded that if I got 2 years of wear from them, I should just replace them, (noting that 2 years was as long as I should expect them to last . ) I should mention that in IL, most people don't wear sandals through the winter season. I have bought many SAS shoes prior to Linda being the manager, and was very disappointed with her attitude . I no longer will buy at that store and wonder if she is correct about the longevity of SAS shoes? Ellen..Evanston, IL

Review (Edited) We…read morearrived at the store and were asked to put our name down. We started with one salesman who needed to leave and then turned over to another, so since we were first online and had to wait because there were 6 people and only 2 salesmen. One salesman spent time with a young girl and sat with her for a while while we were handed boxes. The service was awful, and I noticed two people left because they had no assistance. We have purchased from here numerous times and would have left if I didn't have my cash points. We will no longer shop at this store. Service is now here--try it on and put the shoes you don't want nicely back in the box. Add but pay $$. You really need to bring your customer service back.

There's about 25 customers in the store, but one employee. I know retail is tight, but this is downright dangerous for this employee. Because of this, she was constantly checking out people and could not help anybody, including us trying to reach the top self. We waited 15 minutes to get help from her. We also found out after getting the total that only 1 of the 6 we got were on sale. The rest were full price. I wanted to leave there, but my mom really liked her shoes. The lady barely knew how to work the register. What really soured me was the manager. He started out nice, but I could clearly see this was an act because he turned extremely rude to his employees and an older customer who he talked down to. He screwed up and forgot to give her a discount and then acted like he was "doing her a favor". Combine that with no bags and barely any sized 13 shoes, I'll pay more for shoes down the street at Dick's I used to be in retail. I know it's a thankless job and customers tend to be pretty bad, but this guy should not be in management. If he is the face of Sketchers, it doesn't reflect well on the store. It seems like this store and company have given up.

What is old is new again! I love a good neighborhood thrift store. Family owned and operated,…read moreThrify Thrift in Skokie, IL is a true gem. I think they're a fairly new establishment which opened over a year ago. I've gone twice in the past month. The prices are crazy excellent where you can find quality clothes if you dig deep enough. Clothes are available for all sexes and age ranges. They don't just sell clothes either. There's a good variety of things for sale like basic housewares, accessories, music, movies and comic books. I even saw a few items like tool sets, a set of golf clubs and a vintage Nintendo Cube set for sale. On both occasions, I spent an hour here and never left empty-handed. Look out for their 50% color tag sales that are generally offered daily. That's where you'll find the biggest savings. The only downside is that they don't have a dedicated changing room but they offer their single occupancy bathroom as their changing room. Disclaimer, the bathroom/changing room did not smell pleasant. It had a strong sewage stench. Hopefully their bathroom sitch gets fixed with time. At least they offer poo spray in the bathroom. If you have a sensitive nose, you may want to avoid. Another disclaimer - All items are final sale. They give no returns and no store credit is offered. They accept cash and card payments. There is free parking in the public lot to the right of the store. Currently open Tuesday - Sunday but check Yelp or call for their store hours. Happy shopping!

I just moved to a new neighborhood and saw Thrifty Thrift on the map while I was learning what was…read morenewly near me. I love thrifting and buying second hand and was so excited to see a new option close to me. I slipped my plans for Thrifty Thrift in with some other errands on a Sunday. They are open 12-5 on Sundays and it was between 12pm and 1pm that I stopped by. They had a sign out on the sidewalk that said they had parking, but I'm not sure what parking is actually for them. I parked in a lot that was just East of the store (the direction I was traveling). It had snowed in the few days prior to my visit and Thrifty Thrift did not have any of the sidewalk in front of it's store shoveled or salted. I'm not sure if it's not required or they think customers won't appreciate it or maybe I just happened to be by on a day that they didn't have enough staff to get it done, I'm not sure. Inside this store feels very much like a cross between a flea market stand and a small second hand store. It's relatively tight inside with all available space used. Every surface has more items available. There are clothes racks in the back, they are too tight for 2 people to look at the same row at once. This is a place that somehow felt like it had so much and nothing all at once. If you're a thrifter, this is definitely a spot you need to dig through and if you find what you're looking for it was exactly perfect and if you didn't find what you were looking for, then you found nothing. IYKYK. There was one man working at the front, and I was greeted. He was not overbearing and did not speak to me again, and I did not have any questions to ask. I didn't purchase anything on this stop so can't speak to overall price of items. I'm not sure this will be a stop for me regularly, but if you're looking for a particular thrifted good, this could definitely be an option. I do always appreciate a non-corporate option for second hand buying. Thank you, Thrifty Thrift!

Order #116641 I…read moreplaced my order on Friday, July 24, and received an email confirming the purchase. By July 29, after sending two emails requesting an update on my order status, I still had not received any response from the vendor. I eventually had to call the company myself to find out what was happening, only to be told that my order could not be fulfilled because the color I selected was no longer available--even though it was listed as in stock at the time I placed the order. I am extremely disappointed with the lack of communication and customer service. Customers should not have to repeatedly follow up just to learn that their order cannot be fulfilled. If there is an inventory issue, the company should proactively notify customers instead of leaving them waiting without any updates. Based on this experience, I cannot recommend this company. The inaccurate inventory information, poor communication, and lack of customer support made for a very frustrating buying experience. I'm sharing my experience so other potential customers can make an informed decision before purchasing from this company.
