They are laid out in order of size, so if you need a size 6 womens shoe, you go to the womens section and find the size 6 shoes. There are big signs on each aisle letting you know the size. They also sell trainers, handbags and purses, along with the usual shoe cleaners and insoles etc. They have alot of different names, but I wouldn't say they are cheaper than Clarks for example. They sell Clark shoes and others such as Hush Puppies etc. The advantage is they are all under one roof.

This shop is on one of the main shopping streets in Bedford, close to Debenhams. The entrance is very large and is similar to all River Islands. They stock a large amount of womens clothes, a small section of shoes and a small section of accessories. They also have good sale stock for when it is that time of year. Upstairs is the men's section which I believe is quite large compared to others. I have found the staff very reasonable in this store - for example I wanted a dress, but it had a mark on it, so the manager offered me either a discount or the chance to return it if I washed it and it didn't come out. This shop is always a good place to look if you want a nice outfit, for males or females!

You'll wade through lots of crap (Barker had the widest selection of any of the stores we visited, though very little was fantastic) to find a pair to love, of that much I am sure. It was not until I spotted the last box of 3.5's that I had any hope I might find what I was after. My eventual purchase made me especially happy because the Minerva model was a shoe I'd had on my target list prior to coming to Northampton (and one that is currently available in Barker retail outlets at double the price.) In sum, Barker is worth a stop if you're already up in Northampton but not worth making a special trip from London for.

This is one of two Tyrells stores in Rushden. The other is situated on Irchester Road…read more This store is smaller than the Irchester Road branch, but on the whole I find that I prefer this one. It always seems a friendly place and the staff always say hello when you walk in. They normally have the radio on which gives it a good atmosphere. The prices are great as they are factory prices and the staff are also really helpful and are more than happy to help you find your size out the back if it is not on display. As well as footwear, they also sell handbags and a small range of clothing at the back of the store which is also really cheap and there is a changing room for trying on too. This is normally the first place that I go for shoes in Rushden, especially in the summer as the range of women's sandals and flip flops is great and half the price of most other stores.
