Stopped by Clark's after a stroll around the marina for a quick bite to eat. Item has that older ice cream diner feel to it, with lots of nostalgia around the room for decorations. Item is a fairly quiet establishment, which I found nice. The staff was super friendly and attentive. For the food, I ordered the Nashville Chicken sandwich and a side of poutine fries. First time visiting. Great Fish and Chips. Servers were polite and attentive. We enjoyed sitting outside. Check it out.

The food gets a 4, because the price is outrageous. 3 people $80. Don't get me wrong, it's worth every penny, but I had no idea it was that expensive. Oh well, great eats. Apparently everyone has heard of this place! It came highly recommended as one to visit if you are ever in Cold Lake. The view must be gorgeous in the spring and summer as it overlooks the lake. When you first walk in, it is decorated as a general store in the main restaurant area. There is plenty of seating and plenty to look at to entertain yourself if you are a solo diner. The staff is friendly and accommodating. The menu is extensive. They have the typical late breakfast, hotdogs, burgers and sandwiches. A decent selection of entrees and seafood as well. If you call ahead, you can catch your fish on the lake and have Clark's cook it up for you! I just had a simple BLT on my visit but it was a tasty meal. I like Clark's for its nostalgia and old epicentre feelings it gives off. It's a staple diner in cold lake for sure. I'm a bit bias because I used to work there 5 years ago and I noticed that some of the pieces and Knick knacks collected were more organized and taken away which almost seem to take away from the original clutter that gave it more of an authentic place to sit and check out while eating and enjoying a classic milkshake. Drink options have become limited as well and they do not serve many options like draft or very many cocktails. Food was nothing special but it never really was anyways however there would be daily specials which were not there anymore either. I'd totally recommend still going but only to hit up the milk bar and that's about it. read more

Cute little restaurant with a great view of Cold Lake. The staff are very accommodating and the food is usually good. I have ran into inconsistencies with my meals, but staff turnover is the nature of the restaurant business in Alberta, and I believe this is why. I still eat here once or twice a month, so it obviously doesn't bother me. The decor is phenomenal if you nostalgic trinkets and collectors items. And they have (or used to have) the best draught beer made in Alberta-Big Rock Pelican Ale. Hello everyone I had a bad experience at a local restaurant over the weekend! Warning to all senior citizens and families with anyone who is hearing impaired. Took my 78 year old Grandmother (hearing impaired , she has a hearing aid but she still can't hear well at all) to Clark's eatery for lunch today and was told I'm talking to loud before she was even seated . I was apparently disturbing other customers when we literally just walked in the door and there was one other family that walked in right before us ( we watched them walk up as it takes quite a while for her to walk from the car with her walker) , a mom and dad and two children. ( they did not look like we were disturbing them the mom actually looked at me and cracked a little smile ) Side note my grandmother has lived in cold lake since 1984 and Clark's has always been her favourite place to go( She has been hearing impaired since before I was born and we never had an issue until this new owners taking over now) she recently has had many health issues and this was the first time she has left the house in months close to a year for anything other than medical appointments. So all in all if you're hearing impaired or someone in your family is do not visit Clark's . Their owner has no respect for the elderly in our community which come on buddy give in twenty years and you'll be just as old as she is , So sad considering people are just trying to support local but when you're treated like that you'll never go back . P.S I got my sister to call and talk to the owner ( I was so upset That he was treating my grandmother that way I couldn't even call and speak to him myself ) and he's went off yelling You can come back if you figure out how to talk to her quietly ! P.S.S I never yelled at any staff members I nicely told the man who approached me who claimed to be the owner of the business that she is deaf she is hearing impaired he said we have customers here that are being disturbed and walked away) the server was so apologetic for the owners actions I would've never spoken Rudely to her I felt bad enough for her having to work for this man every day! read more

Great milkshakes, quesadilla's, view of the harbour. It has a diner style, with a touch of uniqueness. The staff are nice and in the summer you can sit outside. It is a refreshing change from the other restaurants in town...try the dill pickle soup ;) Or get them to fry up a fish that you have caught on the lake! read more

This place is a wonderful change from the local chains. If you stick to the basics (burgers, fish and chips, salads, and quesadillas and beer) you will be satisfied and happy. Staff is attentive and the location is great. Stay away from the prime-rib special - I had a long conversation with the waitress about wanting it medium-rare - she said it comes rare to medium rare except for the end pieces. Mine came medium to well-done. Very disappointing. Also the closing time is 9'ish. Which means if you don't show up by 8 on a weekday it may be closed. read more

Went here for lunch and the food was really good. Wait staff was attentive without being annoying. Needless to say we WILL be returning!

Overall horrible experience, when we (2 people) entered the waitress was going to seat us at a table for 2, asked if it would be possible to sit us as a table for 4 as the 2 tops are very small. She said that she wasn't allowed to do that and then 30 seconds later when another couple came in the same waitress immediately sat them at a table for 4 while there were numerous 2 tops available. Not that big of deal. We ordered appetizers and entrees. Our appetizers came out in a timely fashion followed immediately by our entrees, huge pet peeve. Food was mediocre at absolute best. Fries were undercooked in the middle and waited over 10 mins for tarter sauce to go with my fish and chips. Would not recommend this establishment at all. Have given it numerous chances and have been consistently disappointed. The only thing this establishment has going for it would be its milkshakes. read more

I've been to this place several times and one thing I will say is the food is quite good. Atmosphere of the old general store and the look of the old time 40s or 50s look is great. The issue I had with this place is the service. It was shall we say, less than perfect. I don't mean that slow because it was exceptionally busy, but slow because a couple of servers really didn't seem to care one way or the other. Sit outside on the patio, beautiful view of the lake. But.. Almost feel lucky if they bother to serve you. You can sit 15 minutes before someone will come with a menu. The other server wont help you because "It's not her section", but cant be bothered to tell the other girl she has a table full of people waiting for service. Mention this to the one who finally comes out and she snaps at you "Well you should have let me know you were here". Gave this place several tries, both alone and with groups and service seemed to be a hit and miss. Why bother going back? read more

Clark's is truly a nostalgic place for the people of Cold Lake. It has a retro 50's diner feel and the food is great! Not to mention a fantastic location with an unbeatable view of the marina and Lake. The staff are warm and welcoming and also attentive.
