I've never played in this area before so wasn't sure what to expect, but the course was immaculately maintained and in great condition (greens were fast, but that's no real surprise). The staff were all fantastic giving us the lay of the land, loading our bags and chatting over the course of the day. We had weekday rates, but compared to similar courses with the same price, they really set themselves apart. There are a lot of homes in play on the course, so worth being careful, but the community is beautiful so you get some eye-candy along the way.

I went canoeing with my bf a few weekends ago and it was so much fun! I was a little nervous at…read morefirst because all the reviews for this place were really old. We rented a canoe for 4 hours and enjoyed every second of it. The lady up front was superrr nice and she was very open to rescheduling because of weather. My bf and I tried on life jackets while she grabbed our canoe and paddles and she pushed us out into the water. There are two paths, a scenic path and a path with food, both are very pretty though. We saw so many animals but I could only take pictures of so many. When you go to the restaurants you do have to tie up your boat yourself but that's super easy like even I figured it out. There are two restaurants on the path, a bar type restaurant and a seafood restaurant. We went to the bar and i'd definitely recommend it! Overall we had sooo much fun and I can't wait to come back again!!

We decided there to keep our original reservation since it there was only a small chance of rain. The staff on-site was super nice. They helped us load into the water & helped us get out. They had life jackets & various sizes so you could choose one that fit. Unfortunately for us, it rained about 45min after we got into the water but we found some trees to hide under until the rain stopped. It was actually pretty cool experience to watch it rain. Super relaxing. It was a nice kayak trip! Definitely will be back!

I imagine that this dog park is for the community only. Seems weird. This is a large area that's completely fenced in for your dog to run. The fence did seem suspect though as I'm positive that little dogs could go right under them and run away from their owners! It was dark though so it was hard to tail(we were using our phone flashlights). There's not a lot to say about dog parks but I can say that it's set up in the perfect spot. You can unleash your dog in the park and keep an eye on your pet. Meanwhile, you can unleash your child and let them play on the playground directly behind you. Perfect for the local family.

My family camps a lot. With the kids, dogs, and our aging bones and joints, we gave up tent camping…read moreyears ago. We have a pop-up with air conditioning, and that's how we've rolled for 5-10 years. But then my son joined Cub Scouts, and so I've had to break out the tent a few times. This preface is intended to give you some idea of my camping experience and where I'm coming from. Our latest scout overnight was here at Tunnel Mill. We were assigned a nice wide space with a small roofed-over picnic area, a fire pit, latrines, and water. We were in the Sequoia site, and the whole area had a slight slant. If you are picky about a perfectly flat camp site, then pick another. The site was free of litter and had a decent amount of shade from the tall trees surrounding the clearing we were in. It was a pleasant place to camp. As far as facilities, there were outhouse-style latrines in our camping area and bathrooms with running water (sink and toilet only) a short walk away. These bathrooms were in a shabby state of repair. One sink I used to wash up and brush my teeth had no drain pipe. The used water just emptied onto the ground and flowed toward the floor drain. The playground area was mostly in good shape. The kids had a blast there for a couple hours. They have this large wooden pirate ship thing the kids can run all over. When we were there, there was some safety fencing preventing anyone was walking onto a small area of the pirate ship with some rotten floor planks. There were holes that could have easily turned someone's ankle, so I was grateful they fenced it off. We camped in late April and found a couple ticks on ourselves. Bug spray and regular inspections for bites are good ideas. Overall, we had a very positive experience here. We only spent one night, but it was comfortable and just right for our scouts and the adults. But you do need to adjust your expectations in certain areas since this is a volunteer-run place. Unlike a KOA or Jellystone or some other for-profit campground, this place has to make do with what it has and what it can get in terms of labor and materials. So yes, some things needed repair, but everything important was clean.
