Either way, I like to buy food that has a longer date because when it is on offer I buy it to keep it in the house. Best Sellers means that whenever you buy the food, you kind of have to have it straight away which doesn't suit me. Not a favourite of mine but some people love a bargain

I always wondered how he got so much food there. So one day I ventured to Best Sellers. I was amazed. Bottled water for 20p? Crisps for 10p? Soup for 50p? Then I took a look at the expiration dates on the food. Oh. That's what's going on here. But if that doesn't bother you, then Best Sellers is your place. And, really, how can water go out of date? Not all the stuff is out of date. They also have a dairy and frozen food selection that is thankfully in date. I don't think any place would last too long selling out of date milk. Even in Belfast. Some of the food is just...unusual and this is where it winds up. I expect to see a whole lot of those Walker's World Cup flavour crisps here pretty soon...

To my surprise this store could not have been more different, it was serine and relaxed, to be honest it felt like I was watching it in slow motion. Price Attack sells everything you could possibly think of, it is a little bit mixed up if I am honest. On one isle there was various dog toys and treats and right there on the opposite side there was a range of rugs and carpets that were being perused by an elderly couple. I thought this was a little strange and there was no real separation of different products. Price Attack also sells hardware and general household goods but I would suggest you call in because the items in store certainly will not break the bank. One thing I noticed about Price Attack is that they did not have the typical shopping jingles playing over the speakers, instead they had a Radio 4 debate about benefit fraud so you might just learn some topical information by calling into Price Attack.

Very dramatic, and much better than the mundane 'Pound Shop'. Effectively, that's what Price Attack is...a sort of pound shop. Of course, not everything is a pound, but there's certainly a sufficient number of goods around this price to justify the overarching label. Goods such as stationary (five rubbers for a pound etc.), household cleaners, hardware / outdoor accessories and all the sort of usual discount store stock. As means of explanation for the next bit of info I provide you with, I'm going to contextualise it for you. It has been said that I'm a bit anal when it comes to cleanliness (you'll see where I'm going with this in a minute), and I rather like those mini bottles of hand gel that came into vogue around the time we thought we were all going to die of swine flu. Despite not giving in to such beliefs, I just decided to purchase one for times of need, and since then I've gone through tubs of the stuff. My friends have begun to make fun of me, but hey, they're not complaining when they need a hand-clean and I'm the only one with the gel... Well, to my delight, I'd spotted a 99p bottle of Carex hand gel, and remembering my current tube was dying a slow death, I decided to purchase this new one. Unfortunately nothing else caught my eye, so it was my only buy....which rarely happens in a discount store. At least now my world will continue to be a happy and clean place. And all for 99p...

The store is big and spacious and there are plenty of parking spaces. It is well laid out and is pleasant enough to browse around and the staff are very helpful. It is worth visiting this store especially if you are looking for those seasonal items as the deals are very competitive .

We stopped off and walked into this huge cave of a place - a mixture of ladies, gents and children's clothing. There were groceries, household products, sports equipment, jewelry and pet store products. I trawled through lots of different clothes, some marked with stickers that say 'This garment was produced for a popular high street store' - I guess they have a small amount of factory seconds but most of the products are too expensive for customers looking for a bargain. I did buy one top for £7.00 so I was happy enough. My sister, who usually loves shops like this, thought it was full of things you could buy in the pound shop for half the price. I won't be back.

Cotters is really your average cheap 'n' cheerful pound store, selling everything from hardware to confectionery. I've myself a few bargains in here (of the sweetie variety, no less), including four packets of sweets for a pound, five 'Caramel Bunnies' for a pound, and a packet of Riesen...yep, you guessed it, for a pound (which, if you haven't tried, you really should). It's a more old-school discount store, as opposed to the up-and-coming chain stores such as Poundland and Pound Stretcher. Some of the stuff is a load of old junk, but most of it decent enough quality, and you can't go wrong in the food section. It's always my downfall, and you truly get a good few offers in there. The store itself is very well laid out with lots of space between the aisles. staff are very helpful with a welcoming g smile. There is good parking facilities at the door and ample disability parking. The store is easy to find being just off the main Belfast to Bangor road. I really am impressed with this store and will certainly be back and recommend it to others.

This store opened up in 2009 and seems to be doing very well. I love going in for a wee hoke about and while, like at most second hands, the results are varied, I've managed to find a few little pieces amongst the rails. It is predominately clothing, but there is the odd bit of furniture which tends to be beautifully crafted dressers or wardrobes - just what you need to hold all your beautiful vintage items, right? The staff are always very welcoming, the prices are right and there's always something new to find, rather than the same old stuff you see on the high street normally. Plus, it's run by the East Belfast Mission who do a lot of good work in the poorer parts of East Belfast, engaging with young people and homeless outreach, so everyone's a winner!

This isn't just another vintage shop, it's slightly better quality than the others. They do a great job with mannequins, I'm always impressed with their window dressing skills. The clothes in the shop front was the first thing I ever noticed about the place. It's always a really good job. So kudos to whoever sets this up. Inside the store it's always laid out brilliantly, some vintage shops are a bit like TK Maxx at the best of times, you need a good few hours to sort through the jumble until you find the gem you're after, but in Vintage they've got everything in order around the shop and you can immediately find some real gems. They sell (amongst a myriad of others) trousers, skirts, dresses, shoes, jackets, formal and casual wear. Anything and everything. Paradise! Even their furniture is for sale (so pretty too!) Like most vintage shops they don't offer refunds but do offer a credit note exchange. I find this particularly handy if you don't have the time to try items on. You're always going to find something you're after anyway.

Apparently this epithet applies not only to this one shop, but to the entire Woodstock area... Bargain World, as Emma (the previous reviewer) rightly notes, is much more of a hardware store - tupperware, tools, kitchen utensils galore - than your run of the mill bargain shop. In saying that, I did find two bottles of deodorant for 99p each, which was notable for three reasons: 1) I've never found them for 99p elsewhere. 2) They're incredibly difficult to find. 3) They were pretty grimy and needed a clean. I took them anyway (after giving them a rub with a tissue). Perhaps the most notable aspect of Bargain World is the greeting as you come in the door. I almost jumped the height of myself when I walked in, and a recorded voice said "Hello and welcome" (or something like that...I was too busy nearly wetting myself to remember). Even when you leave, the little detector picks up your movement and says exactly the same thing, which I thought was quite amusing. Well, you have been warned...watch for that welcoming voice, and prepare yourself to find a few bargains.

It's a bit like an indoor market - and I don't mean that in a derogatory sense - it's just not a fancy boutique or upmarket shop. It's a hardware shop - and I kind of like hardware shops, especially the locally run ones as you can get your cleaning products and household good really cheap here - hence the name. They also sell big plastic planters much cheaper than you would get in a garden centre and I'm sure the gardening enthusiasts would be happy with them. I know if I was getting kitted out for a new place to live, it would be a good place to go for your kitchen bits and pieces as well as cleaning products.

It is hard to put your finger on what type of shop this is but one thing is for sure it has become very popular recently. This is sort of a brick a brack shop selling cut price sweets, fixtures and fittings for your home, toys and industrial goods. It is one of those shops you would go to if you just want to have a nosey around and are not quite sure what you want. The staff are really helpful too, today I watched one of them go out of there way to search the stock room for two cushions for an old lady. They always have plenty of staff on too, so you will not be searching for anyone to help you.

To be honest not much has changed it is still jam packed full of random things and its selection of sweeties is amazing. Me and my big brother used to spend all our pocket money in pound stretcher but it certainly went a long way as we came out with bag fulls of rubbish. This shop has gone a little up market recently focusing more on home wear and I quite like it. It has a huge selection of little items like throws for your couch and decorations that could spruce up your house/flat. It is an ever present of the shopping world but my one criticism of the place is that they stock there products to the rafter and it is often out of the reach of my mum who is a titch and told me to include that criticism. If you are over 5 foot 5 then you shouldn't have a problem, but if not bring the yellow pages.
