Was contacted in early December to be told I finally got to the front of the queue for an NHS place. Booked in my appointment. That appointment was cancelled by them a week later, which was then rescheduled. Twenty minutes before the second appointment (whilst I was in the car on my way) I got a call to say that the dentist I was due to see wasn't taking on new NHS patients, and neither are any of the other dentists, so they're not able to see me now. Basically told to look elsewhere. What an absolute shambles. ------------- Reply from Clarendon on google reviews: Dear Richard Our email was sent inviting registered patients only to book into some spare slots we had available. No new patients were invited! The online booking link which you used (or had forwarded to you) also made clear it was for existing patients only. When it became clear you were not a pre-existing patient and booked your self an appointment incorrectly your appointment was cancelled. We are attempting to rebuild our general nhs list in an equitable manner prioritising pre-existing patients by age group. We are unable to make exceptions and sorry for any inconvenience caused. -------------- UPDATE: Just to respond to your reply. You're making it out like it's my fault. See attached the email to me. Nowhere does it state it's for existing patients only. YOU haven't made this clear. Its not me misunderstanding. You sent me the email and text me! It wasn't forwarded to me by anyone else. The first appointment got cancelled and you called me to apologise and set me up a new appointment. If it was only for existing patients only, why did you not advise me at that point? Why on earth did you wait till I was on my way to the second appointment to tell me then? I've never had an email from you before offering an appointment, so why would I assume it wasn't for me? If it really wasn't for me, then why did you send it to me in the first place? Your lack of responsibility and attempt to gaslight me is disgusting; trying to blame me for your error and assuming I've tried to circumvent your system. read more

My appointment was unnecessary as you were unable to do an extraction due to my chemotherapy medication. Could have been avoided if my medical details had been reviewed prior to offering an appointment. I am still waiting to be informed of what you have done with my refErrol. I have subsequently requested my own dentist to submit another referral. read more

My appointment was really quick and the dentist was friendly. I was just a bit taken back when I was given the local anaesthetic by injection without a warning. This was my first contact with a dentist ever so I don't know if that was a normal thing to experience or an oversite. It would have also been nice to receive the email on pre-appointment preparation well before the day of my appointment as I did (7 hours before my appointment). Thankfully, I did not have any drugs to avoid 48 hours or even the morning of the appointment so I was not affected. I also had to sign a document to consent for the procedure after I had already been given anaesthetic. Although it was just local, I feel this could have been done when I was waiting to be called in and was more calm rather than when the procedure had already started. Finally, it was also a bit strange that I got an email on my way home about pre-sedation instructions when I was not sedated for my tooth extraction. I don't know if it was sent mistakenly or I was actually expected to be sedated and did not receive it. Overall, the staff especially the dentist were nice and there is no doubt that he is very skilled at his work as I had very minimal pain or swelling after the extraction. read more

My child has been referred for treatment at the community dental service. I was given a number to track on a website and it appeared as CDS which I was told is Clarendons. I called and the receptionist was having trouble finding my child's record. She transferred me to manager who explained the situation but her manor was inappropriate. She seemed very impatient and like she had no time for me. She was aggressive in explaining my child has not being referred and tutted at me when I tried to ask for help as the site was confusing. I finally managed to get the number to contact the correct place but she seemed reluctant to help me and made me feel as though I was causing her a great inconvenience. She put the phone down before I could even say goodbye. No respect read more

On my assessment to check whether I was a suitable patient for sedation, due to severe dental anxiety, the female nurse put me at ease, and talked me through each step before it happened. Sad to say that on my second visit the female nurse was not there, barely spoken to at all, made my anxiety trigger, and I'm pretty sure they gave me so much sedation that that they had to hold my jaw open, and they opened it much further than it can safely do so, as now I can barely open my mouth, and hurts to speak, due to having several tooth extractions I was expecting pain in my jaw but not in the joint. Very disappointing. Only good thing is that I can't remember anything after being sedated read more
This is my favourite dentists - EVER!! I may only be an NHS patient (GOD BLESS THE NHS) but I feel like I get private paying patient service. The Dental Spa itself is very clean, nicely furnished and I must admit I do enjoy the chandeliers! The staff are professional and thorough. I've been really impressed with the dentist that I've seen, especially as they don't try to make me buy floss! I trust them with my teeth; they don't mistreat them. read more
No, I haven't been back to have more teeth out, but I have had more dealings with Clarendon Dental Spa. Being something of a hypochondriac (some might say 'wuss'), I was worried that the ache and swelling in my jaw hadn't subsided after five days. I phoned up, and the receptionist said she'd get someone to call me back. A couple of hours later, a friendly lady called back to ask how I was doing. Despite reassuring me that it's normal to have pain and swelling for a week afterwards, she said that I could come in the same afternoon to have it checked out if I wanted. When I said there was no need since she'd reassured me that my symptoms were normal, she reiterated again that I could call them any time, and they'd fit me in for an appointment the same day. Very impressive. read more

I recently visited Clarendon Dental Spa, and my experience raised several concerns, leading to an overall sense of dissatisfaction with the provided services. Below is a detailed review of my observations: 1. Brief and Impersonal Initial Examination by Dr. Ahmed Al-Ani: The initial examination, conducted by Dr. Ahmed Al-Ani, at Clarendon Dental Spa was completed in just 10 minutes, lacking any consultation or discussion about my dental health. This left me feeling as though my concerns were not fully addressed and that there was a lack of genuine care for my individual needs. 2. Inadequate Hygienist Appointment and Lack of Facilities: a. Dr. Ahmed Al-Ani recommended a 20-minute appointment with the hygienist, Mariam Al-Ani. However, during the appointment, Ms. Al-Ani expressed that this time was insufficient for a thorough cleaning, leading to a rushed job. When I expressed my willingness to pay for a longer session, she cited scheduling constraints with another patient coming right after. b. Furthermore, Ms. Al-Ani did not use a dental mouth mirror to show the results of the cleaning, particularly the areas at the back of the teeth. Additionally, Clarendon Dental Spa lacked a sink or drain for rinsing, and the alternative of spitting in a cup resulted in splashing on my clothes, which was inconvenient and unexpected. 3. Unfulfilled Promises from the Secretary: When I approached the secretary at Clarendon Dental Spa to request communication with Dr. Ahmed Al-Ani regarding a prescription for high fluoride toothpaste, she promised to follow up but has not provided any response despite the assurance. In summary, my experience at Clarendon Dental Spa has been suboptimal, marked by rushed appointments, insufficient communication, and unfulfilled promises. I hope that these concerns can be addressed to enhance the quality of service for future patients. read more

I can't praise Lucy enough for the incredible experience my daughter had at her recent dental appointment. After a previous tooth removal procedure left her quite distressed and reluctant to return, I was understandably apprehensive about this visit. However, Lucy completely transformed her perception. From the moment we arrived, Lucy was wonderfully caring and gentle. She immediately put my daughter at ease, softly describing everything she would do, and reassuring both of us that everything was okay. It was clear that my daughter's needs were her absolute priority. She took her time, fostering a truly relaxed environment, ensuring my daughter was comfortable and experienced no pain whatsoever. When it was time to remove the tooth, Lucy worked with impressive speed and effectiveness, minimizing any potential discomfort. Afterward, she took a moment to ensure my daughter was fine before presenting her with a lovely Disney sticker and a certificate from the Tooth Fairy. This thoughtful touch was pure magic; my daughter genuinely believes her tooth simply "fell out" rather than being extracted, which made a world of difference to her. While dental treatments aren't always desirable, Lucy made this necessary experience feel inviting and happy. My daughter went home that day smiling and giggling, feeling like a "big girl" and excited to place her tooth under her pillow. The entire experience was incredibly pleasant and positive. It's a shame Lucy isn't my daughter's full-time dentist, as I feel completely assured and can rely on her to consistently maintain high standards and genuinely put my child's needs first. I cannot recommend her highly enough! read more

my son was originally referred to Clarendon from his NHS dentist due to needing work doing but my son has a fear of the dentist & they couldn't provide the time or type of pain relief needed. Lucy was just brilliant! She was so patient, caring and knowledgable. she spoke to him in a calm and patient manner and in a way he could understand what the problems were & how it needed treating. She was able to do an X-ray which his NHS dentist couldn't do. In his 2nd visit he had the treatment & she again, was patient & took the time needed to get him through it. She reassured him & went at a pace he was comfortable with. When the treatment was finished my son cried with relief not only because he had the treatment but because he was able to get through it & he was proud of himself. In a space of 4-5 years my son has seen 4-5 different dentists. i felt a lot of mum guilt because they all said he brushed his teeth well but couldn't explain why he had cavities. Lucy was able to diagnose him with chalk teeth which was something none of us could prevent and had never heard of before. Lucy was honest about the kind of treatment he needed & what the realistic options were. Thank you! read more

I was very pleased to get an appointment very quickly and on a day and time that worked for me. I would rate the whole experience as excellent from the customer service i received from the receptionist to the orthodontist. I was taken in by the nurse who was so nice friendly and supportive throughout the tooth extraction. I was seen by Eson Rasikh who was also very friendly professional and did such a smooth and effective extraction. I was very surprised how efficient and quick the extraction was in a good way of course. Eson was great he was explaining each step and also asking me throughout if i was doing ok which was really helpful knowing what was going on and the nurse reminding me to breath through my nose which was encouraging didn't get that advice before. That stood out to me because you don't think to do this but this helped me not take anything in and not think about what was going on. I'm still bearing through the pain as this is expected with wisdom tooth extraction. Hoping it will get better very soon. read more

A very nice and professional dental clinic in Leeds/England. I was visiting Leeds as a tourist and felt some pain in one of my teeth. I searched Google Maps for the closest dentist around and I found this gem. I liked the reviews I read so I called for an emergency pain appointment, and I was lucky to have on the next day. The reception was great, and Dr. Soumia Djebbar was fantastic, friendly, and professional. When she realized I have a medical insurance in Saudi Arabia, she managed to treat the pain with minimum work and asked me to follow up with my dentist in Riyadh/Saudi Arabia. She also described an antibiotic and Ibuprofen for me. When I came back to Riyadh and visited my dentist here, he admired the work done by Dr. Soumia Djebbar and talked highly about her work done. Thank you everyone in Clarendon Dental Spa. It is a real dental Spa in Leeds. Much appreciated. read more

I had a wisdom tooth extracted which was extremely difficult to get to and get out as had a difficult position to contend with regards angles, ability to dislodge & positioning, etc and an extremely large cavity The Dentist was extremely caring, patient, empathetic and explained the process and procedure with care and in a manner that was non patronising and detailed I also received a depth of consistent 'verbal flagging' of what would be going to happen next, if I felt uneasy or in pain to raise my hands to gain a break etc Her manner was very calm and patient - centred, excellent inter-personal skills and genuine and not forced attention to my comprehensive care along with an relevant level of displayed humour and creation of positive energy and dynamic All of the above helped greatly to reduce stress and anxiety levels and was greatly appreciated read more

Care was good. the doctor and Nurse were very helpful and sympathetic. The only problem we had is that when we arrived at the clinic and drove round the back the car park which said was for private patients we parked there . I am a Blue Badge holder and both my husband and I are in our late 80s . The two ladies at the reception asked us where we had parked and we told them round the back as there was just one car there. She insisted that we have to move it or we would be fined . Thankfully our son was with us and he was able to move the car . Both me and my husband are Cardiac patients and find it difficult to walk . My husband is a retired GP and the son accompanying us a consultant at the HRI and we understand Rules but the people dealing with patients should be allowed to make allowances in certain circumstances . Thank you. Mrs Priti Bhasin read more

I was referred to Clarendon Dental Spa for a tooth extraction , I arrived and the receptionist was very pleasant and told me where to go, I waited for about 15 minutes over my appointment time which I didn't mind, when they fetched me they told me of the procedure Dr A. Docrat was a pleasant and patient also his assistant was very pleasant and friendly she new what Dr A Docrat was doing ( forgot her name sorry ) I waited for the anesthetic to kick in, after that I went back in then the dentist started to pull my tooth the pain was unbearable so he stopped gave me some more anesthetic to numb more of my gum after that the tooth came out very comfortably I would like to say a big thankyou to Dr A. Docrat and his assistant would recommend this dentistry. read more

Clarendon Dental Spa was great with me on my appointment! First time visiting them for a dental extraction, and the gentleman who took my tooth out talked me through it whilst removing it as i explained i was anxious about the procedure before hand. The nurse was also great, she answered all my questions and gave me a clear run down of the aftercare i should be following. The office staff were great! They were very polite and helpful! I was 20/30 late to be seen to my appointment but they were very apologetic and it was due to them having a delay with the last patient, but it just shows they were making sure the last patient and me were seen to thoroughly and made sure we were okay before leaving the surgery! Overall an amazing surgery. read more

recently visited Clarendon Dental Spa and had an excellent experience from start to finish. The team was professional, friendly, and made me feel completely at ease throughout my appointment. The clinic was spotless, modern, and very welcoming. The dentist took the time to explain everything clearly and made sure I was comfortable during the treatment. I was really impressed with the level of care and attention to detail. The reception staff were also very helpful and accommodating with appointments. I would highly recommend Clarendons to anyone looking for high quality dental care and outstanding customer service. Definitely the best dental experience I've had. read more

I had a wonderful experience with Dr. Aisha Al-Salam, and so did my two children. We're so happy to have her back as our family dentist! She is incredibly careful and professional. During my root treatment, I initially thought my tooth needed to be removed, but she advised me to try the root treatment instead. I'm so grateful I took her advice because now my gums are no longer swollen after the cleaning. Her expertise, patience, and gentle care made me feel comfortable throughout the treatment. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a skilled, caring, and trustworthy dentist! read more

had a tooth extraction done yesterday on a back tooth that I had been having ongoing issues with. I was feeling nervous but instantly put at ease and everything explained very clearly about what was going to happen. The procedure itself was quick. I was feeling abit dizzy afterwards from the injections and was given a glucose tablet to help which made me feel better. I would highly recommend the staff and they were very friendly and professional. I also received aftercare information by email the same day to help with the healing process. read more

I actually visited the Huddersfield ptactise as I live in Elland and I do not have transport,a carer took me. The experience was brilliant,I've always been terrified of the dentist. On this occasion i went to have an extraction. The dentist was amazing,I never felt a thing. He sang to me he was brilliant like I say. I wish he was a nhs dentist. Actually I had been to see him prevpiously,a referral from my own dentist too who are based in Elland. Both occasions were brilliant,no pain,no swelling and not too much bleeding. read more

This is ab excellent dental service and a very pleasant premises to visit as the waiting room and washrooms are very clean and comfortable The staff are uniformly pleasant and helpful, from the receptionist to the dental hygienists and actual dentists. Over the years I have received very good treatment as an NHS patient from caring and skilful practicioners The only fairly minor criticism is that occasionally it is difficult to get through on the phone as it either rings out or goes straight to the answerphone read more

I am surprised at the poor reviews I read here today. my own regular dentist had said my required extraction was too complex and so referred me to Clarendon Dental Spa. As one would expect I was feeling rather anxious. I need not have worried, I was given time to talk through with Hassan my concern. I was treated with patience and understanding from both Hassan his nurse, and the receptionist. My treatment was completed in under 15 minutes without any problems. thank you all for your kindness today. Jane. read more

Hi, after attending the dental spa today along with my 10 year granddaughter, what a relaxed atmosphere, so calming. From walking in the receptionist was friendly and the dentist Mrs. Williams was once again amazing with my granddaughter, asking if she had any questions or worries before we were discharged. It's made a very nervous girl feel more relaxed about going to the dentist, both Mrs. Williams and the dental nurse were very kind and patient. Thank-you to all concerned with the care we received. read more
