    Jury duty today.
    Holly S.

Jury duty. I love the architecture of the courthouse, and the history behind it. The check in process took HOURS, and I sat in a room with about 300 other people.....and waited. and waited. They need to update the waiting area to reflect the world we live in now. Some outlets and charging areas for mobile devices would be nice? The court is not the cleanest place ....but I do love the architecture. If you get called for jury duty......bring and extra battery for your phone.....and a kindle or book to read. They do show "movies". Men in Black was movie the day I was there. Seriously....a 20 year old movie?

$15/day Jury Duty (I worked as a juror a single day summoned 2018.07.06, mostly with a crowded yet quiet room waiting patiently and sitting still). First and only employment in the U.S. (specifically after being a Quebecois International Student so very super far away in Canada there) for me officially, only job hiring and paying immediately in cash, maybe that is the promised job that my earlier 2017 government job training said.

My Husband and I chose to ditch the Big Wedding planning and had an incredibly private justice of the peace wedding. The entire process couldn't have gone more smoothly. The lady who married us looked like she hated life and was disgusted by anything involving marriage LOL but we had a great time.

The judge just wants to leave and so you are guilty until proven innocent and since innocence requires evidence and the judge doesn't understand evidence or logic, you are guilty - better take that terrible deal the prosecution offers. What a farce of an institution. There needs to be oversight over these people. Such evil needs to go back to the third world country it was stolen from. I watched the judge ask for time estimates. The lawyers all knew what she meant, but a regular man representing himself didn't understand what she was asking him for. In response to his question, this racist judge asked him if he needed an interpreter because he had an accent. It wasn't even that thick an accent and he did not need an interpreter. He just didn't know what the time estimate entailed. Had I not paid a lawyer I would have had trouble with such a question and I exclusively speak English. The judge didn't explain, but asked the man again, only more condescendingly. Obviously embarrassed, the man just agreed with what the prosecution had proposed - 5 minutes. All the lawyer estimates were around 5 to 10 minutes, with 10 minutes being the longest. The prosecution and judge clearly just wanted to get out of there as fast as possible, facts and justice be damned. I was appalled by what I saw in that Kangaroo court. I lost all faith in the justice system today and honestly, as a woman watching a female judge and a female prosecutor teaching a younger woman how to be corrupt and incompetent (literally laughing at having to admit a mistake to her boss before the courtroom opened) I kind of get why some people oppose the 19th amendment. That's how bad those people were; they have me questioning my own right to vote. Where is the good representation I was promised as a kid? Where are the good examples to support the 19th? Not the judge or prosecutor I can tell you.

I'll spare you all the details, but I am a litigant before the court, and the judge in question clearly has prejudged my case and is biased. In addition, he seems to have issues respecting the notions of due process, equal protection, and the First Amendment. I've asked for a new judge, and hopefully that will happen and the court ultimately will prove to be neutral and unbiased, and keep in mind that the real reason most people, myself included, go to court isn't to pull a fast one, bully someone else, or any other negative reason. We go to court because we are counting on the court to be fair, unbiased, and a means to resolving conflicts that we cannot resolve ourselves. Unfortunately, the judge in question appears to have lost sight of that.

I only had to go 20 feet away to the clerk's office, which was within their view. Still they would not allow me to enter and suggested that I hide my phone in the bushes outside. Can you believe that?! Of course I declined, so I had to walk back home, and back wasting a good hour in the process. When I finally got in, the process of dealing with the file clerk was simple so I'll give them a star for that. Lessoned learned: if you ever have to go to court, for ANY reason, leave your cell in the car or at home.

BEWARE OF JUDGE DOROTHY WILSON and the DISTRICT COURT OF MARYLAND, BALTIMORE COUNTY…read more I suggest that before having your case tried before this judge, read my following letter to the administrative Judge Wilson, who of course did nothing. There appears to be no accountability for unethical conduct for judges in Baltimore County. Your case will be decided at the whim of the judge. They could care less about justice. If possible, take your case to another court. These are awful judges and awful people. Pion failed to address my complaint, and ignored my evidence. He refused to answer any questions. This is just another example of an arrogant judge not providing justice. Wilson failed to acknowledge that Pion ignored my evidence. She could care less. Two awful judges and awful people! ANTHONY RAYMOND 973 Circle Drive Baltimore, Maryland 21227 (410) 247-0837 traymond51@hotmail.com ________________________________________________________________________ November 22, 2020 Judge Dorothy Wilson Administrative Judge District Court of Maryland for Baltimore County 120 East Chesapeake Avenue Towson, MD 21286 Case Number#: D08 CV20008343 Anthony Raymond, Jr. v. Tanglewood Road, LLC COMPLAINT ABOUT JUDGE KEITH PION Dear Honorable Judge Wilson: This letter shall serve as my complaint about my treatment by Judge Keith Pion. My case involved my payment to and work not completed by Joseph Shryock and Tanglewood Road, LLC. There were two issues. The main issue was the bathroom heater not repaired properly. The secondary issue involved his not finishing the doorbell repair. This year I got the doorbell repaired for $100. Consequently most of the $275 paid to Shryock was for the heater. Judge Pion stated that I could not prove the defendant promised to return and fix the doorbell. I asked him, "Can I ask a question." He said "I won't answer any questions from you and walked off of the bench. I wanted to ask him why he did not consider or address the issue of the heater. I presented to Judge Pion photographs of the doorbell which Shryock left in disrepair. I provided documentations by other contractors indicating the heater did not work and needed repair. I provided a copy of the check and my bank statement clearly indicated my check paid for services not rendered. Other letters from two agencies and Home Depot and Pro Referral were also included. Apparently not only were all of this evidence ignored, but I couldn't even get an explanation from him. Nobody likes to be scammed. My tax dollars should ensure that I receive justice and a fair trial. I believe that I should be entitled to ask a question from a Baltimore County judge. In our judicial system he and your District Court should be part of the solution. Instead, he is part of the problem. He should try dealing with people with integrity and ethics. It's pitiful the way he has treated me. I hope that you take measure to address this situation, and ensure that others don't waste their time and money in your court trying to have their case addressed properly. I am very disappointed as well as outraged by my treatment. Please have the court, or more appropriately Judge Pion refund my wasted court fees to include my process service fees. Sincerely, Anthony Raymond

Maybe breaking up the cases for that day over a few judges if they're going to be more than a certain number. I didn't leave there until after lunchtime and we all know that everyone wants to take their lunch so to think that there could be a possible recess before the rest of the people were seen was quite crazy. have to say everything was very clean not a fan of the parking. Quite professional and I'm grateful for their assistance. Literally took only 10 minutes. That's pretty good for any government agency. Parking on site is a nightmare. I recommend going to a different spot. There are a lot of court cases going on, so smart to walk over here. Signage is pretty decent, and this is better than a lot of courthouses.

Howard County Circuit Court - Jury Assembly Kitchen (June 2023)

June 2023…read more Disclaimer: Review based solely on jury service experience I was summoned back in April for jury service, but was sick so was excused and resummoned for June. If you are summoned for jury duty, note that the parking garage is a zoo so plan to arrive early. Fortunately they don't start promptly so it's ok if you are several minutes late. Upon arriving at the courthouse, you will need to go through security. The jury assembly room is upstairs to the left. Upon entering the room, you sign in at the desk on the right, then you can be seated anywhere. There is plenty of seats including counter seats with outlets if you need to work on a laptop or charge your electronic devices. The jury assembly room has a kitchen with vending machines, a coffee maker, microwave, refrigerator, and two dining tables (each seats 4). There is also a water dispenser (accessible for bottles), coat room, and restroom. The judge came out and spoke to us and thanked us for our time and service. Later, a circuit clerk called our names and gave us a badge with a number on it. This would be used as our personal identification instead of being referred to by our names if we were selected to be a juror. We were then instructed to go in line to get our parking validated and to receive our $30 expense money. We were informed mid-morning that we were dismissed from service and given documentation to provide to our employers as evidence of our service. It was the funniest thing to see how quickly everyone bolted out of the courthouse. It had the same feeling to me as Black Friday. Lol. Getting out of the parking garage was comparable to leaving a venue after a concert or an event. It was jam-packed and slow getting out. Note, the gate was open so it wasn't necessary to check out at the kiosk. I liked my jury experience in Howard County much better than when I served in Montgomery County mainly because parking was more adequate and I am slightly more knowledgeable of the process this time around.
