Antiques on High has the proper smell of old things and has an interesting range of antiques. Rather than focusing on big pieces of furniture, which so many antique shops do, it uses its space wisely to host: Jewellery, books, records, clothes, ornaments, pictures, maps and various collectables. The condition of the goods varies, but they're priced fairly reasonably. I find it's best to go in without the aim of buying something in particular, but just to browse. I can't say anything has ever caught my eye enough to want to buy it, but I've seen plenty of other people who have found the perfect addition to their home or the ideal gift. The best bit is the craft section, where there's a gallery of jewellery, leather, pottery, glass and art in general, all produced locally and all promising to be valuable antiques in the future. There's a great range in here and you can get something for less than a pound or spend hundreds of pounds. Equally, you can pop in for a few minutes or spend hours browsing - it's almost like a mini museum. If you like antique shops, this won't disappoint; if you've never been in one, try approaching it. Don't be put off by the prison-like bars in the windows; the staff are friendly and it's a different world inside.

Claires sells jewellry, hair ties, scarfs and accessories mostly aimed at the younger generation (by young I mean teen and younger) although there are some great things at a cheaper price for older ladies. They have their own makes of all the products: most are good quality. You can get nine pairs of crystal earrings for £6, a bargain! Hairbands are in the £4-5 range. Great bargains available in the sales, lots of fun stuff to put in party bags! The staff are vigilant and will approach you immediately with a basket as you browse the store. They can also advise you on what looks great. They usually offer some incentive at the till too.

Although there is some lovely 'hen' night items available and very nicely priced. They sell jewellery, bags, scarves, hair accessories, socks, gloves, sun glasses etc etc etc. And everything is very affordable. A great place to take your teen/pre teen to spend their money.

Visited this store today as I regularly do to buy a few new items for payday although felt violated…read moreafter visiting the in store fitting rooms. I took a few items over to the fitting rooms where 2 girls were chatting before handing me the card for me to head down to a room. All the rooms I passed were full of other peoples clothes that had been left, which is common in the store so I just entered and went along with my day. Shortly after entering the room someone started making remarks about using that room and demanded I leave (at that point I was in my bra as was about to try on a top so felt a bit uncomfortable) to which I apologised saying the room was taken. I could hear a few murmurs although couldn't make out what they were saying before the curtain was opened on me and this girl demanded I give her "her stuff" back (new look items that were just in the room) to which I through my top on as quick as I physically could, picked up my stuff and went to leave. The 2 staff stopped me saying I needed to return the items and card which I usually would but felt I needed to just get out of there after what happened. I told them I just got kicked out of the fitting room before getting called back and scolded at for not returning the items with nothing mentioned of the girl harassing me outside the changing room then opening the curtain to get me to leave. Staff sided with that girl who had violated my personal privacy and covered their name tags as I asked if I could leave before one of them eventually left her colleague to go retrieve the items. Personally, if you have any sense of dignity then stay clear of this New Look. Staff are generally rude and not caring in the slightest.

Split into multi…read morelevels across two floors the shop sells mainly womens and young girls' fashion clothing and accessories including shoes. Elevator access is available for moving between floors and there is also a lift for disabled customers. The store is vast with lots of space between the clothing stands so it does not become crowded. The sale points are also roomy with several tills available to queue at. The staff are always manning this area so there is never any wait. The staff are helpful and quick to serve. They fold clothes neatly into a bag before passing it to you. The prices in this New Look are quite reasonable. There is often sales and promotions on with a large sector of clothing reduced. An excellent central location in the mall it is definately worth a visit.

The clothing is not aimed at teenagers but more mid twenties upwards as is much more sophisticated than the usual. This also means it's a little bit more expensive but the quality makes it worth it. They have £9.99 Harry Potter-themed necklaces that I couldn't say no to, and most of them are nice or decent-looking. The Hedwig and cauldron necklaces were lackluster. They have a decent variety for the scarves, sweaters, and jackets, and they had accessories galore. Lots of horcruxes and wands on display and for sale. They even had Slughorn's hourglass and Gryffindor's sword! The mirror on the wall is between a narrow hallway where some Harry Potter stuff are displayed and a wall on the left, so it's very cramped in that area. This is one of my two complaints. The other complaint is that the employees there are so down-on-the-dumps or have that "ok let's get this day over with" attitude. They were helpful in that they helped me view and get everything I asked for, but they were so monotonous and dull that it's like they've never been delighted in their lives before. Two more things before I end this.. I have to talk about the University of Oxford gear and British souvenirs. The other half of this store had University of Oxford gear and accessories on sale as well. There's a good variety of ties, jackets, sweaters, etc. on sale. In the middle of the store, there are typical British souvenirs you see in London. There's a wide array of oxford hoodies, T-shirt's, and on top of that, Harry Potter stuff! I walked out with three oxford hoodies, a 9 3/4 coffee mug, and an oxford t-shirt. Little overpriced, but I understand why. After all, it is a tourist location. The woman who rang me up was rude, no smile or indication that I was welcomed and didn't ask if I found everything okay. Maybe it's just a UK thing, but if you want tourist money, make them feel welcomed!
