All the neighbours have been talking and this feeling is universal. Just a small example, they are working in our driveway and have fencing around the whole. Our door is down the driveway and I asked that when they are done for the day they make sure to push the fence away from our house so that my wife can get the stroller down the driveway even if no one is there to help. They were totally understanding and every single day since the fencing has been pushed back. The organizational culture of service is truly incredible. Kudos to everyone there.

Contract signed a few days later stipulating that work would begin before the end of August. Job not started until mid September and still not completed by end of October, 6 weeks later. After contract signed and before work started the project manager said that the job would never be completed in two weeks, however she told me twice that once started her crews would not be pulled off to do other work. There were periods from 3 to 8 days when nobody appeared on site. 25 feet of corner foundation was open to the world and left exposed for a week with some plastic sheets blowing in the wind. Crews did not know from one day to the next if they were returning to my home to continue work. My calls to the front office were received with comments about how crews can't work in the rain ! Retaining walls were not removed but buried just beneath the surface; I stopped one crew from using a Sawzall to cut buried plywood only inches from an underground natural gas line. In frustration I terminated the contract and hired two independents to finish the job. Consequently other contractor schedules were thrown off and ultimately unable to finish work before the winter set in. During the final conversation with the general manager he only said that he would take my complaint as "constructive criticism" never once apologizing for the inconvenience. If you do hire this company to work on your home expect to have them demand a cheque from you every few days for each small step of work they complete. At one point I had an email requesting payment for work no yet completed. I do not recommend this company.

Last summer, my wife and I hired Mazen and his team to apply EIFS cladding to our house. EIFS…read moreinstallation involves several stages and the work took nearly three weeks. Mazen, for whom pretty much nothing is undoable or unsolvable, led a cheerful, energetic crew (they actually sing while they work!) who put in long hours during very hot days. The end result far exceeded our expectations. We were particularly impressed by some unplanned nice touches: covering an unsightly split concrete windowsill and a cracked concrete piece at the base of the door to the deck, for instance, and forming a couple of circumscribing groves in the chimney cladding for improved aesthetics. When I asked Mazen, a year later, if he could patch up a recessed wall area where a utility box used to be, he came that same day, and then returned a few days later for the finishing coat, graciously declining payment. All told, when it comes to EIFS/stucco projects, I recommend Mazen and his team without reservation.
