The outside displays are always enticing; everything from fresh herb plants to produce can be seen as a backdrop to a small outdoor seating area, which is a great place to chill once you've grabbed a quick ready-to-go item for a snack or lunch. Typical items are sandwiches, fresh pizza, baked goods. Also, coffee is pretty decent. I'm a big fan of their move to support gluten free products. They currently carry Purest, a brand that's based in ON, and every Wednesday is gluten-free day; they have pizza and sandwiches that are really yummy. And, today I even scored a GF brownie - delicious. Prices definitely reflect the quality, which I won't complain about - it just makes it a more occasional stop for me.

Cute little local coffee shop located in downtown Picton…read more Indoor seating is currently not available due to COVID but they do have a couple of spots to sit at outside. We've come here three times now during our stay in Prince Edward County (my mom and step dad rented a cottage in nearby Cherry Valley for the month of July). I've tried their iced decaf Americanos (hit the spot) and on the most recent visit, their peanut butter confetti bar (which was delicious). They also have a Gelato counter, with lots of tasty looking flavours, baked goods, a small menu of mostly sandwiches, and a curated selection of food stuffs. A nice place to stop in to grab a beverage or light bite!

I love the assortment of pre-prepared and refrigerated foods like shrimp skewers, scones from St Anne's, charcuterie, butter tarts, hot sauces, fresh bread, locally roasted coffee, and the list goes on! I must confess that we only ended up buying a couple of Melinda's bottles of PEC made lavender bergamot lotion ($17 each, which smelled better than any of the lotions I tested at the lavender farm) but had we not been running late for dinner, we probably would have purchased more in the way of food items. I can't comment on the service like the last Yelp reviewer since ours was limited to the purchase transaction. Conveniently they have tables on the front porch. A few people purchased charcuterie and jams and bread from the Agrarian Market and were enjoying them with cold alcoholic beverages purchased from the adjacent LCBO. Because of the selection of high quality products offered and the overall shopping atmosphere and experience, I can see myself stopping by here again while in the area.

The cafe itself is tucked away behind a church and has a lovely court yard. Right now, due to COVID restrictions, orders are taken through a window then patrons who are staying to eat seat themselves. I waited in line to place my order (we were looking for Americanos) but was bummed to discover they only offer drip coffee here. The lady at the window was super lovely and directed me to try across the street at the Public House for espresso based drinks. Since I didn't want to leave empty handed, I ordered a humming bird cake to go to split with my hubby on the way home. The cake itself was super moist and chock full of pineapple, pecans and coconut, all topped off with a glorious cream cheese icing - it was so good!
