There was no warning, either on the menu or by the waitress that it may be heated! The thought of all that butter oozing into the scone - ugh! When I got to the till and I was traditionally asked "Was everything OK for you" I pointed out that I would like to have had a choice of how the scone was served up I was told that I would know another time - and would be able to ask for it to be served cold!! Not perhaps the sort of customer response that I would have liked!

They sit, cooing over each other like innocent sixteen year olds, splitting half a toasted teacake and a pot of tea. My nana isn't very well, and so this place is quite perfect for her on trips out from the nursing home. The walls are a cheerful yellow, it isn't extremely packed or noisy, the cakes are homemade and unapologetically stolen from Delia Smith's classic cake book and quite glorious for elevenses. I do realise that some people go to a garden centre for the plants, and not just the tearoom, and so I'd also like to say that they have very lovely plants and flowers. And chutneys, and garden furniture. And the prices are a lot better than the other garden centres nearby.

The garden centre is lovely…read morethe plants are reasonable prices and the hanging baskets are lovely and they will make them up for you, this is a very good service. They have a small gift shop with some nice gifts in. well worth a look. The tea rooms are ok but I feel the sandwiches and a lot of the food very overpriced. I had a ham and pickle sandwich for £3.99 nothing exceptional about it but I do not understand why cafes insist on putting crisps with it and a leafy salad. Please just the sandwich and lower your prices. The staff are not particularly friendly (in the café) which is off putting' However, the staff in the garden centre I have always found very helpful.
