I debated whether or not to leave a review here because it will be based entirely off of one…read moreinteraction. That being said, it was so positive, I've got to do it. Last summer, after having lived in Portland only a few weeks, my bike was stolen out of a secure bike storage area at my apartment complex. I was told by coworkers I'd never see it again and that it probably wasn't even worth filing a police report. After a bit of convincing by one person, I figured it couldn't hurt to file a report anyways (worst case it's a waste of time, best case, I get my hike back). Anyways, I filed the report, bought a new bike, and forgot all about it until a few weeks ago when I got a call from officer Dave Sanders. Dave did some good old fashion police work, arrested one bike thief, and was able to track down a stash of bikes at a homeless camp. Sure enough, one of the bikes found was mine. Dave was incredibly friendly during the whole process. He even waited around after his shift to get my bike back to me then, to save me having to get it out of evidence which would have added some extra legwork on my end. When I showed up to get the bike, he helped me get it registered on Project 529 (great way to keep tabs on your bike if this sort of thing ever happens). That about sums it up. I'm still speechless they were able to find my bike. Not only that, the thief even put new grips on it, and it came back in better condition than when I lost it! One more thing: Dave said the vast majority of bikes they recover end up getting auctioned off because people don't file reports when their bikes are stolen. File that report! You can do it online and it only takes 5 minutes.

As a recently sworn-in police recruit with a documented history of serious heart conditions and…read moremultiple prior cardiac surgeries, I entered the academy process with both commitment and vulnerability. During training, I experienced alarming symptoms, including tasting blood, and raised concerns about my health. I did not feel there was meaningful follow-up, individualized assessment, or clear coordination to ensure that my medical condition was being fully evaluated in light of the physical and academic demands placed upon me. Given my documented medical history, I found this deeply concerning. Police organizations appropriately hold recruits to high standards of performance, discipline, and accountability. Those same standards of care, communication, and attentiveness to serious medical concerns should apply internally as well. When someone's health, career, and reputation are all at stake simultaneously, there should be a clear and transparent process that prioritizes both readiness and well-being. I hope future recruits with documented medical histories receive thorough, proactive engagement when concerns are raised

Who knew I would review a police department - especially when I do not live here! I definitely do…read morenot like to need the police but was so grateful. This experience made me more likely to reach out to the police. I do delivery driving and prefer to work through the middle of the night because I genuinely feel safer. During the day people order from apartments that have no where you can safely pull over with all the cars. The cars on the road are excessive and aggressive. The people you drop to barely tip yet are very rude. Nighttime is the opposite usually and most deliveries are just to nice people who work late like security or laboratories. I get lots of houses all over town and have the joke to please get stoned and order but stay conscious to leave your porch light on at least. 230am I get a Taco Bell pickup and drive it over to a very lovely Lake Oswego house with a large solid magnetic gate with a fancy keypad and voice. They left the code saying to just leave the food and here's the entry code. Cool, through the gate, drop food and take the photo. I went to leave and was very confused as there is zero trigger to get back out. I looked and looked. I tried the text to customer and calling the customer. The house has zero signs of life and Ubereats customer service was ridiculously unhelpful. I called the non emergency line for Lake Oswego and the very kind dispatcher and I chatted - she really made me feel better. I do not like being trapped and there was a one foot space under the gate I even tried to see if maybe I could squeeze under but nope. I thought the police would take forever, not take me seriously or something... I made a lot of assumptions as I was genuinely a bit scared and distressed feeling helpless and trapped. I was in shock as to how fast the police arrived - seriously it could not have been even five minutes after she said she was able to dispatch someone. He was so kind, went right to the keypad to enter the code (I seriously will never forget this person's gate code!!!) and the amount of relief hearing that magnetic lock unhinge...I resisted the VERY strong urge to run straight into his arms. I wanted to shake his hand while thanking him and seriously hearing him say his first name versus that authoritarian attitude you expect was so nice. Also, him giving me their number and stating that since I am over there delivering hopefully I don't need them but that they are definitely there if I do.

They are mean and pulled me over for having no plates They camp behind corners and do nothingread more

This department is a joke . I have been getting harassed by my neighbor for over a year I've called…read morethe police for help now they're acting as though I'm a nuisance and I'm a bother because this person is seemingly getting personal information and I don't know her like that . I express my concerns and my fears and Beaverton doesn't care. I had my same neighbor put up text message from my mother and my view I don't know this person like that of a text message that I sent my mother yelling at her about the abuse he had me indoors and how she traumatized me and she took that normal I don't know how she got it she posted it on her door for everyone to see my trauma and my abuse . I called super 10 again and I was ever full crying inconsolable crying officer called me back and asked me if I'm okay and in between me crying I said no I was going to cry more than cervical I was trying to stick words out of my mouth but I was so emotionally traumatized the officer made me feel like I was a burden and I was just being bothered from and they are up no help they were just let somebody emotionally and mentally abuse you and not care as long as they're not doing something physically harmless I would rather die deal with this Police Department or ask for help over 60% of the officers are a joke . They really need to treat people like people and see damage that's being done whether physical or emotional and be there to stop Behavior like that . Instead you get treated like you are a burden and you're bothersome and their time is precious . Bought the Beaverton Police Department they're assholes they'd rather see you die than help you . The reason I say that was because if I hadn't been working hard on my mental health what happened to me with my neighbor and I called that officer I probably would have killed myself . And then Beaverton would come out and maybe that officer would be like wow I just talked to her and maybe then they'd see how serious the issue was . I have to be dead for them to care or do something . Even had this girl trespass from my door in my building and the office or was like nope can't do nothing I don't care that she touched your door continuous to harass you and exploit your mental health and tell everyone your private business .

On or about 10-25-24 a Milwaukie Sgt. noticed a bike out of place in their impound. He ran the serial numbers and found it to be the $5,400+ bike that was stolen. YAY! I am a retired police chief and knew all sorts of officers. My salutations to Sgt. Inman. He is a reflection of nothing but the highest standards of good police work in Milwaukie and its department. Whether they will leverage this find to root out the other , very expensive, bike remains to be seen but the person that got arrested with the bike may be sweating a bit right now. Seriously it has 197K miles on it and it's just your average white Japanese Grandma car. Nothing special. Nope. Nothing. But for some reason your patrol officers find it a delight to troll me when I'm driving my wife to the Max station and back. I don't know what it is about that car - again nothing special - that you feel necessary to "do that thing" where you hold way back and run my plates only to find there's nothing in your system. Then you speed up flip on the lights pass me in a narrow two lane street (Johnson Creek between SE 45th Pl and SE 32 Ave). What is that all about? It's happened more than once, or twice, or now five times. I'm still a fan and I won't change my review stars, but come on, Milwaukie Police Department, don't you have anything else better to do than seriously pull this crap on a local citizen? Seriously.

While she was sleeping someone took the screen off of the window, pushed the treadmill over and was halfway into the apartment before he dropped his lighter and she woke up. She got up to see what the noise was and he walked right past her. She said he looked her full in the face. We called the non-emergency number and were told to fill out a report online. We did and were told someone would contact us. (The lighter is still laying where he dropped it. No one has touched it. We included this in the report.) We called to see what was happening with our report, had to leave a message and were told they were reviewing it and we would be contacted in 5 days. 5 days later. Still nothing. No one has come out to talk to us or check out the lighter. It's still there. We don't know if he was just taking the opportunity because the window was open or if he saw our daughter and had bad intentions. Truthfully I don't care what his intentions were. I just want someone to come get this damn lighter and act like they give a rats ass that someone tried to come into our house!
