History
Established in 2013.
Chris and Bruce Westwood purchased a 73-acre property on Civil War Road outside Carthage, MO, in 2013 and have turned the property facilities into a multipurpose events complex that features a barn originally built in the late 1800s, probably between 1880 and 1890.
The Wedding Barn Events Center includes a second-floor L-shaped banquet hall with two 9' x 3' windows overlooking the ranch pond and wooded areas south of the barn.
The first floor has been remodeled to include a men's restroom and women's restroom that connects to a large bridal dressing room. There is also a catering preparation kitchen and a large stairway that leads up to the second floor.
The central portion of the barn's first floor is open (except for the original support beams) for banquets and other events. Three of the original animal stalls and the tack closet have been left in place to add to the charm of the rustic country barn.
In addition, the pole barn across the courtyard has been preserved.
Meet the Business Owner: Chris W.
Chris and her husband, Bruce, are originally from Utah but have made Carthage, MO, their home since 2001. Bruce and Chris are also owners of Westwoods Cabinet Hardware, an online cabinet hardware supplies company based in Carthage.
