Inspired by the obscenely pleasant weather we've had over the past few weeks, I stopped by…read moreGermantown Municipal Park. Municipal Park is one of my long-time favorite suburban hang outs. No matter when I visit, it never seems crowded. There are tennis courts, a pond (with ducks), a pavilion, a playground, and a big open field that's perfect for playing. It's also the home of a historical home. The John Gray house is one of the oldest brick residences in Shelby County. It was originally located in Eads, but was moved to Municipal Park in 1989 for preservation. I've never been inside; every time I've been at the park, its doors have been locked. After a bit of enthusiastic jumping up and down (I'm short, and the windows are high up), I can report that the house is furnished as it probably would have been when it was built in the mid-1800s. Municipal Park is right next to the Germantown public library, which makes it a perfect place to catch up on your reading. The open field is perfect for picnics, and the playground has a huge jungle gym and swings.

Jones a drug test and placed him in the back of an ambulance. He was drunk or high on drugs, speeding in a residential neighborhood, no insurance, and no valid drivers license. The deputies are Davis badge number 10049 and Purtle bade number S11510. It's sad that they refuse to do their job. I bet if I were a white citizen they would have arrested him.

If you are looking for a quaint place to spend the night in Memphis, look no further!!…read more From the wonderful and welcoming folks in the Intake area to the kind and compassionate Jailers in central booking, I can't think of a more fitting experience when you are in the Detroit of the Delta!! The kind of characters your will meet in the sprawling facility are second to none..most will welcome you to their fair city with open arms and tales that are unparalleled. One word of caution: if you are looking for some famous Memphis BBQ, 201 Poplar if not the best choice. While there are many great options just beyond the razor wire topped fences, old school Americana dominates this menu: bologna sandwiches seem to be the cuisine of choice. I was somewhat saddened to see my stay end, but there is a reason people come back so often! With free transportation offered throughout Shelby County, it's hard for most to stay away for long!!

First thing is the kiosk that asks you a few questions about why you are visiting today, then gives you a printout with a number. There were two of us here to see someone for different reasons so two tickets. We were 9 numbers down and sat in comfortable chairs looking at a big screen that showed which numbers were being served. Each time a new number was up they announced it over the intercom and with the window you are to report to. In order to get to your interviewer you open a door and walk into a hallway and seek out your cubicle which has two chairs and a plexiglass divider between you and the staff person. I like this arrangement because you have total privacy from the room full of people waiting and some semi-privacy from the few people around you. I was called approximately :15 minutes after getting my number and my wife was only a couple minutes after that. We both were getting replacement social security cards plus I had a short interview to do for my son. We both were completed in under :10 minutes after interviewing with very professional and cordial people. Overall I was very happy with.the whole experience from beginning to end. This is absolutely my choice for a social security office even though they try to get me to go way downtown Memphis, nope I am going across state lines to a closer, less crowded and more pleasant outpost. Olive Branch and their crew have it together.

Also, a library card is not required to reserve a study room...I felt like I was visiting someone in jail because there's no privacy between the study rooms. Rooms 1 and 2 were separated by a glass window. I didn't like studying while trying to mentally block out the person in room 2. Having a tinted window or curtain to block the rooms would have been great. I was thankful that the security officer removed the clock out of my study room per my request. The ticking sound of the second hand on the clock was a distraction to me...I was able to accomplish my study goals!

I took my toddler just to explore and see what they have to offer for his age range and I was pleasantly surprised and impressed by the amount of resources. When I pulled into the parking lot, there were plenty of places to park. I also noticed a place to charge electric cars! Nice touch to a modern day facility. There is a blood pressure station as soon as you walk in. I tried to check mine, but my toddler wouldn't let me sit still long enough. When then walked to the front desk and they showed us to the children's area. It was super inviting with multiple stations to learn and play! There were coloring sheets, puzzles, legos, blocks, and so much more. I also loved the unique reading areas with a huge selection of books! We checked out four of them! I loved the outdoor play area. It's so kid friendly and clean. The staff were absolutely amazing! They were helpful. Matter of fact, they selected the books for me to check out. My toddler got a little fussy and they didn't hesitate to assist. I appreciate them for that. This will definitely be somewhere we add to our weekly routine. Love it!
