great care,quick exams & people know what their doing & do not make you wait hours to be seen

My daughter went there for an x-ray of her right lower arm. My Neice took her because she was unable to drive. Long story short, they refused to x-ray her because she would not sign off so the visit could be workers compensation. My daughter mentioned it started hurting before work and then went to work and continued to hurt during day and after. They immediately brought papers for workers compensation and were trying to force her to sign it. My daughter did not want to sign it because she didn't want to go thru workers compensation just a vist. My Neice is an MA for an urgent care in bklyn and she knew they couldn't force her. They told my Neice to leave the room. She refused and they told my daughter they wouldn't X-ray her. We choose this urgent care because on a Sunday urgent care with X-ray is scarce and close to our home. Now she had to go driving 30 away to another urgent care with X-ray to be seen, because this facility denied my daughter health care. Staff were very rude and unprofessional to both my daughter and Neice. If I could give 0 stars I would. read more

Do not go here. (Forest Av)The elderly doctor they have there is a very unprofessional one. She just assumed what was wrong with me. She kept changing her mind & saying it was one thing or the other WITHOUT properly examining me. Then proceeded to prescribe me 3 medication that I don't know even know if I need. She proceeded to talk about how hungry she was & seemed very distracted & had a hard time using the computer. I really think she shouldn't be working this unprofessional. She needs to be checked & make sure she does her job correctly before she hurts someone. Not my 1st bad experience with her. read more

I've had excellent experience each time I've come to this City MD Urgent Care (which has been a handful of times, unfortunately). It is always kept clean, the staff is friendly and helpful and we always get seen in a reasonable amount of time. Horrible experience. Very bad customer service from the front desk individuals. On top of that , I had to call them few times and finally pay them another visit for them to properly send the escript to pharmacy. Horrible, will never ever go to that place again. You are very sick and they cannot properly send the prescription to the pharmacy. read more

I was hesitant to come into Urgent Care for stitches but knew that the emergency room would be worse and I didn't want to spend 10+ hours. I called prior to arriving to ensure they would be able to do stitches if required and provide my insurance. I was greeted by staff and instructed to check in; I waited no more than 15 minutes before the nurse came to get me. When meeting with the nurse and doctor their bedside manner was exceptional, and seeing how anxious I was about needing to receive stitches she walked me through the entire process so that I would know what was going on. She was so helpful with answering any questions and ensuring the area that needed to be attended to was fully numb before moving forward. I was pleasantly surprised by my visit to this location and will definitely return as needed! read more

forest ave today told provider had penicillin allergy- she prescribed amoxicillin anyway- cvs intervened. Terrible and life threatening

doctors know nothing. I've had migraines for a week, body aches, 102 fever and a cough. All they did was give me a Covid and flu test. when the tests came back negative they were stumped and sent me on my way. I told her my headache was a level 9 pain and she said if it gets to 10 go to the ER...as if that's a difference. CallEd back a couple days later and the front desk is disgusting and wouldn't let me speak to a doctor. She got the nastiest attitude. You're dealing with sick patients. do better. read more

I had to wait 45 minutes INSIDE the waiting room where chairs were inches away from each other for COVID testing. I was told I was not able to wait outside and would not be contacted if I did wait outside. All other CityMD locations are allowing you to wait outside and have social distancing rules in effect, this one does not. read more

If I could Give ZERO Stars I would!! 9 days I took my daughter to here for a COVID-19 and Antibody Test. They informed me the results would take 3-5 days!! There are still no COVID-19 results and my daughter has been quarantined with the only symptom being loss of taste and smell. It's outrageous!! Why would anyone go here?? Everywhere else takes about 3 days, I only went to this place out of convenience. The staff is uninformed and when asked to see if they could check with Quest to see if the test was lost they offer zero response except "Ummm no". read more

Why this says CALIFORNIA is not correct. It is CITY MD STATEN ISLAND -- ANd it was NOT a good experience. I have an ongoing excellent relationship with a Gastroenterologist in NYC. I have problems with Diverticulitis rarely; however, when it occurs, I need an antibiotic to reduce pain and infection. I have had many CatScans and appointments with professionals who all say, at this point, using an antibiotic is the way to go. I take care of this with professionals but it was a Sunday and the infection was/is causing pain. The female doctor, with an accent, refused to give me an antibiotic unless I went to the hospital for a CATSCAN. I've been to other health clinics over the years when this occurred and ALWAYS received the help needed. We are packing and moving to another COOP -- going to a hospital on a Sunday on Staten Island would have been a nightmare. My doctor is on vacation so I left a message. I feel the OCD perfection of this doctor was out of line and she was of no help. I am still in pain and trying to manage life as it occurs. My husband has a PhD in Organic Chemistry AND a law degree, partner in a firm. He agrees that this was uncalled for. This inadequate physician is trying to live a perfect world with absolutely NO emotional intelligence. She cannot make a decision without proof in front of her. I'm a licensed psychotherapist. I have two docs as clients. I was not someone who is not monitoring and taking care of this. My advice, stay clear of this CITI MD. read more

The women who asks questions in the beginning of the visit came with a disgusting attitude as if it's my fault she choose that career. Made me feel really uncomfortable while am already not feeling good . Then the doctor or who ever this lady was comes in and acts completely and noticeably disgusted when finding out I was sick. I don't understand why choose a career with dealing with sick patients and walk around acting like that . On top of her acting disgusted she didn't give me any medication nothing for sore throat or anything to ease my symptoms she said to sleep . My whole experience was very uncomfortable. read more

Went in when they opened at 9 AM and only waited a half an hour to be called in and was taken care of right away I thought I had the flu however they gave me a flu test and a Covid test both came out negative turned out it was my asthma acting up and the nurse practitioner knew exactly what kind of care I would need and also gave me the nebulizer twice she was amazing and so was the staff will be back there for sure! read more

My experience at City MD 812 Forest Ave S I NY was a DISASTER!! I was just in a car accident and was seeking medical attention from CITYMD because they were close, I've been there before and I believed they could help. I was SO WRONG! My experience began and ended as follows: I arrived at 5:35 pm, 25 mins before closing at 6pm. I filled out the documents, presented all my insurance information, received a welcoming Email and waited to be seen. There was only one other person in the waiting room besides myself. Remember, I was there well before closing. By the time I was finally seen was 6:45 and yes, the facility was closed. I was then told VERY RUDELY by a Dr. H. Cheng that the system was down at 6pm for maintenance. I asked him why did you have me sit here all this time? Why did you waste my time and now you're in possession of my personal and medical documentation? Are you going to do an examination, I'm in pain? His RUDE answer was, yeah your time was wasted and there was nothing he was going to do about it, you'll have to find another facility. He then gets up from the chair in the examination room and just walks out. See ya, when I see ya! REALLY??? I have never experienced such medical unprofessionalism in my life! What if unbeknownst to any of us I really needed medical attention? What if I walked out the door and collapsed? Would he have in good faith fulfilled his Hippocratic Oath? HE IS AND THIS FACILITY IS A DISGRACE!!! SO NO, I WOULDN'T RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYONE!!! I WILL BE SURE TO TELL "EVERYONE" I KNOW ABOUT THIS EXPERIENCE! Excellent care for me and my needs. Very new and clean location. My number one urgent care for sure, I appreciate all that they do.

Been here twice. First time, no issue. The place is clean and has friendly female staff. The second time, MAJOR HIPAA VIOLATION! the place is newly renovated and due to the acoustics, I was about to hear the doctor other staff discuss ALL of the details as to why I was there!! (Very personal things). I couldn't believe it. Then when I mentioned it to the Dr, . I said "omg, you know I heard EVERYTHING you just said outside the door! I know I heard you, people in the waiting room can hear you too". He brushed it off and said "No one was listening. What brings you in today?" I relied "EXACTLY what he just told you in the hall". He seemed a bit agitated and said "Yes but I need to hear it from you. Don't give me a hard time". I didn't address it because I was in too much pain. But you better believe I told the manager, Hailey. (I forgot the Dr. name but he's tall and had a very deep, demanding voice. You'll KNOW it's him if you go.) Hailey stated that she would speak to him again, as she had this conversation with the staff before. Not cool!! They certainly do place lower quality of service and professionalism in minority, low income areas. Smh. I personally will not tolerate anything less than what I deserve. This urgent care saved my life. The Dr that was there did blood work at about 630pm on a Wednesday night. He called me at 6am the next morning to tell me to get to the ER immediately. I was having a gallbladder attack. I was also septic. If it wasn't for the dr calling me I would have never went to the Er. I'm not the person who goes to the hospital. While I was in the hospital they called three times to see how I was doing. I am truly grateful for their compassion and kindness. I also went there for a covid test today. The wait was not long at all and the staff is kind, considerate, and patient. I highly recommend this urgent care and this urgent care only!!!! read more
