Cityfone also has bogus customer satisfaction surveys. They provide a series of buttons to rate their service after being invited via email to do so. However, if you choose "0" (zero)as I did (because their service is so shitty...), the "submit" button is disabled. I was looking at their site to see what they had to offer. For some reason they wanted my phone number. Since then, they've phoned a few times, but never leave voicemail. I had to do a reverse search to see who the number belonged to. I won't be doing business with them because it appears they're too scared to leave voicemail, or don't know how. Customer service is horrible. They are polite but are not capable of solving problems. I ordered a phone and a two year contract to be under my phone number. They sent a phone and SIM card under someone else's account and insisted that I pay for this other person's cell phone service. I called 5 times and asked for a supervisor. Nobody ever called back. I was on hold for 4 hours one time. I emailed the company and there was no reply. It is very frustrating. Coverage is terrible. We barely get one bar with Cityfone, if any, in towns where friends using other providers - including Rogers, Cityfones parent company, get good to excellent connectivity. Our iPhone 13s are less than a year old, too, so the problem is not old technology. I have been with them for over 2 years. When you call, you get a real person right away who speaks English and is located in Canada. Very friendly and dedicated to helping with any issues. While they are owned by Rogers I think, their plans are way more affordable. They also have good deals when bringing your own phone. You also qualify for a new phone every 2 years. read more

Running a Zoomer Wireless in my province - they use Rogers network. Phone works OK - lots of dead spots when not in a city. Customer service is the worst I have ever seen. Needed a replacement SIM card - tried CHAT - it was down. Sent an email - no response after one week. Phoned during published contact hours - waited on phone for 45 min then was left an option to leave a message - claimed I would not lose my place in line - they would call back - that was 2 days ago. Was easy to sign up but only if charging monthly to a credit card. Getting immediate on the spot customer service was always difficult. My credit card is maxed so when I realized Cityfone hadn't been paid for months I immediately sent a payment through online banking which I wasn't aware was even an option with Cityfone (at sign up they would only accept a credit card). Anyhow, sending payment alerted them that my account was in arrears. Cityfone emailed giving me 24 hours to pay the outstanding $350 balance. A few days earlier I learned my BMO debit card had been compromised - a company in China made multiple bogus debit attempts and long story short I was locked out of online banking. I couldn't pay Cityfone immediately. 3 days later (Canada Day statutory holiday) got new debit card at the branch. Finally got through to Cityfone via chat. Cityfone refused to reactivate my account without full payment of arrears which I can't do right now. Within a month I'll receive a large $$$ settlement, so I signed up with Koodo yesterday but just learned that Koodo can't port my business phone # as Cityfone has deactivated the line! Cityfone seems vindictive and peevish. btw Cityfone didn't offer an unlimited data plan, so I was forced to take a 5 GB plan to avoid Cityfone's exorbitant overage fees. I'm not exactly sure if i should review Zoomer Wireless or Cityfone since one appears to be the branch of another. I recently signed onto their plans as they are having a promo. The person I spoke on the phone was clear, concise and respectful. I got my new phone in the mail within 4 days and upon firing it up, I had an awesome plan, data and a great monthly rate. The signal was strong in my neighborhood and so was the LTE. I logged onto the website of Zoomer Wireless and could easily keep track of my usage and had all the details of my contract on hand. I wish all cell providers were this easy and hassle free to do business with. One really pleased customer here. read more

Zoomer Wireless (Cityfone) smartphone plans looked like a great deal at first, but they are an utterly disgusting company in my personal experience. The fact that they have gotten rid of their loyalty program for customers is pathetic, and I hope they lose customers. I tried signing up, and they did a credit check on me, my credit is actually in good standing, but for some reason came back as bad for them. The person on the phone was so rude, "he said he talked to the account team, and that they were not willing to do business with me due to my credit rating"??? It's funny because my credit is not bad at all. What kind of credit scores are these degenerates looking for? Why would they even need to do a credit check on someone who's bringing their own phone, and not on a contract plan with automatic pre-authorized payments enabled? What a fucking sham of a company. I also did not want to but said very nicely to the person I spoke with on the phone that "I heard they accept $150 security deposits, and that I was willing to do that to get a plan." The guys said "no we can't help you." What a joke!!! Very disappointed in Zoomer's/cityfone/simply connect. I would highly recommend anyone who's considering getting a plan with this shit company to reconsider their options. After this experience I will never have faith in this company or phone service! Also they don't offer wifi-calling or VoLTE, so its really not that great of a deal. Rogers isn't that great coverage wise anymore anyways. They were okay during the 3G era but not so great anymore. Was satisfied until my last bill showed one very large spike in data usage,(3.1GB) in one day .....that's 50% more than l use in a month.My history shows l am under 2 GB per month.....the spike put me over a considerable amount....l don't believe l used what they reported...my phone usage counter has been very close to theirs in past several months....now l am afraid l will get more of these spikes.My contract is up in April....will have to look for another carrier... read more
