I took a backpack in to have new straps fitted. The item was not ready after 4 days, so I was asked to call in at 3pm. I did so, it was still not ready. And so was hastily stitched while I waited. With a large scissors, he cut the old straps into stumps, to save time presumably. Though we had agreed he would leave a longer piece that could be more strongly stitched along its length. Then he quickly ran a couple of lines of stitching across the top, to join the original and replacement straps. The fastest, most basic method.
Due to his hasty chop and sew, I cannot now take the backpack anywhere else to have a stronger repair made. The one we had originally agreed he was going to do.
