I don't get the review-love for this post office…read more Let's start at the beginning: the parking lot for this post office is very small and very poorly laid out. You can get stuck on the roadway waiting for grandma to pull out of the front space so that some guy in a big truck can get off of the single-lane curbs and park in two to three spaces. When you leave, you'll be holding up traffic! Inside the service area also has a traffic flow problem. There's no way to stand in line without blocking the doors. There's no way to leave the counters without running into the line and folks trying to come in through those same doors. The employees are standard postal employees - exactly as helpful as they need to be to get you out of their line, they move at the pace they chose. Some are fast, some aren't. Some are friendly, some really aren't. There's always a line here for services, so don't expect to pop in and out quickly. You're going to stand there for a while, wondering how long, exactly all of those stacks of mail have been around the service counter. For alternatives, I'd suggest anywhere but the A Street Post Office. It's a post office - stop in if you must to drop off a package or send something certified. Otherwise, you might want to just print your postage online and drop it in your neighborhood box.

He loved the library and they dedicated space for other children and their parents to sit down and read a book.

I'm so happy to have this library downtown…read more I used to stop by when I needed a change of scenery after a couple hours working from a coffee shop and didn't want to purchase anything else. Their wifi never quite worked for my work laptop but I can use the hotspot data from my phone so it was never an issue for me. My work laptop stays home these days but we still stop by to use their printer (first three pages are free). I recently decided to stop using their computers to pull up the pages (to save time) and found that sending the pages from my phone (using the instructions from their website) works well for most things. We have also been enjoying their evening story time series. Many events for children are during my work hours so I'm glad there's at least one at 6pm. Thirty minutes is perfect for the reading and singing part in the meeting room. Some people also arrive at the library early and/or stay for a bit after if they'd like to chat or explore the library toys. They also have events for teens and adults but I haven't explored those yet.

Their online renewal system works great, and they've been very helpful with knocking down late fees when you need it (often through donating canned goods to wipe the slate clean)! It just shows how large the territory used by the Nez Perce was (and when you look at the size of their reservation now, sadly how small and confined they are now). There's a museum at the park headquarters which goes into the culture of the Nez Perce and how it was changed and evolved with the introduction of horses, white settlers, and to the present. If you're also looking into the history of the region, one stop is Canoe Camp, where the Nez Perce helped Lewis and Clark by feeding them and to carve the canoes that took them to the Pacific Ocean Captains. The Corps of Discovery spent more time among the Nez Perce than any other group they encountered in their journey, and entrusted them with their horses and gear as they embarked on their final leg of their journey to the Pacific Ocean.

Some of the campus could use some upgrading, but it's like that at most of places. I haven't been to the satellite campus, but I heard there is some cool stuff going on there.
