As a small child I remember when my father would take us to the "dump". You would vomit the minute you got there because of the smell; the seagulls would attack you and when you left there was a 99.9% chance you had come into contact with a deadly disease. Everything you know or remember about going to the landfill has changed. The moment you drive in you are greeted by a nice attendant who directs you to a large garage-like area with a cement floor. There are a few attendants directing you on where to park in the garage. Once you have parked you simply throw your items on the floor of the garage. A few more attendants will sweep or pick up what you have left and you never have to vomit, get attacked my birds or catch something. It's fun to push all of the stuff out of the bed of your truck on the floor and drive off!

For a fee, Rockport picks up your garbage, provides water, sewage and natural gas. When things go wrong, they make sure that things get fixed and working in a reasonable amount of time. When Hurricane Harvey came, they worked overtime, tirelessly, non-stop to keep the water flowing, the trash picked up, the sewage lines clear, and everything working as normal when the world was turned upside down with a hurricane. I am quite impressed by the tenacity of the utility department of Rockport- when nearly every power line in the county was down, they helped get things up and running. When the sewers were overcome with sea water and flooding, they worked nonstop to pump it clear of debris to keep things flowing. I owe my gratitude to the Aransas County Utilities District! They undergo vigorous training to make sure that their skills are top-notch. The Fulton Volunteer Fire Department also organizes the Fulton Oyster Festival! Many thanks to the Fulton Volunteer Fire Department for helping to keep the Rockport / Fulton area safe. They don't just stick to Fulton- they go out to Rockport and Igleside as well, when needed. Parking was available on the side of the building or street parking. The building smelled a bit musty, but it looked fairly old too. By the time we made it home a few days later, our letter was waiting in the mailbox. Pretty good for a small town in the US.

Is completely incompetent, rude and a liar. I have paid them for my daughters permit and they we are still without it due to them having to wait for their IT to get back to them about the issue. I had to force my daughter to hand over her phone to them just so I could speak to a supervisor to get some type of clear answer as to why we were being told to drive back over 20 miles to their office just for there to be no guarantee that on a third visit the computer issue would be fixed and we would get her permit. Gloria called my daughter today after she left the office without a temporary permit as her grandfather was driving her home on the busy freeway telling her she needed to come back bc she failed to get a signature from my daughter. Everything was relayed to us as if it was our issue, our fault. Paperwork that was given to Gloria at the first appointment was asked for again today for no apparent reason. Paperwork that should already be in their possession. There was no accountability or apology for making us waste gas, lose out on money from taking time away from our jobs to leave without a permit we paid for. I know this facility will do nothing to fix this issue and reprimand someone as incompetent as Gloria. I know this happens to other people and it's unacceptable.
