My answer from the school employee was, " I don't know. Well , in this town nobody wants to put the seat belt on the kids." I took it as it was ok. Not. It is the law. If an officer was checking cars after these people pick up the kids, there would be some tickets given. Thank each one of you for serving.

They hiring cousins and people that know one another instead of building a strong respectful city... The polices don't care they to busy trying to intimidate people with ther uniforms and car lights.. You call them they never come... Being a woman of past domestic violence they give all care to the man especially if he pays his monthly club ties to the city... The police to busy making issues when you see them coming or driving... I think when you start working for dallas you lose yourself...

Tried to get assistance from Troup PD Dispatch Jan/Feb 2014 to see if long time friend was ok as he…read morenever responded to me like he used to but would get back to me a week later; but in this case, he never called me back. The dispatcher, Charlotte, finally came back and said if he doesn't answer back, then there is nothing they can do. I was still worried that I haven't heard anything same day and I had to call back and the same dispatcher sounded harsh to me and said that he doesn't want to hear from you that he got your message and if you call him again, he is obligated to file harassment. I reported this to the supervisor - Paula and she didn't help the situation but went along with the game, like they all do as political and bureaucratic police departments are.

Got scammed out of a massive amount of money via real estate wire fraud…read more The scammer tried to get me to send additional money to a Dallas-based account, which the bank CONFIRMED existed and whose owner is TRACEABLE, as did the FBI. FBI told me to call the DPD's Financial Crimes division to get them to look into the account owner, who is either intentionally or unwittingly acting as a fraud ring money laundering mule. When I did, the DEI phone operator, probably miserable at her lowly position with zero prospects for advancement so late in life, was rude and unsympathetic, telling me I had NO PROOF that this happened!!! I have proof - documents, emails, texts, and the wire loss itself, LOL. For her to say that, and so pompously... these people are not "protecting and serving", that's for sure, lol. Just collecting a paycheck and pension off the taxpayers like ticks.

It was unfortunate for me that I was stopped by a police officer while following a construction…read morevehicle and going over the speed limit. I did not see the posted sign, my fault, but the local truck in front of me was not stopped first and I was singled out. Also, I had out of state plates and could not defend myself locally as I was going to New Mexico. There was no provision to attend the defensive driving course since I live out of state. I think the local laws are discriminatory against out of state drivers and the police officer decides which vehicle is going too fast and does not stop the first vehicle he sees. Better signage would help but that would not be in their financial interest.

Picture this: You leave at the crack of dawn on a mind-numbing 14 hour drive from Houston to Middle…read moreTennessee. A few hours later, you miss a turn in Lufkin and end up heading Northwest on Hwy 69 towards Tyler instead of North on Hwy 59 towards Nacogdoches. At that point, you haven't even noticed you're off-course. In this part of East Texas, regardless of which road you're using, you must slow from 70 to 35 mph as you go through every small town or risk becoming acquainted with the local constable. Now imagine yourself about 30 miles up the road from Lufkin, just South of the booming metropolis of Alto when you miss one of the reduce speed signs. Still out in the countryside, an unmarked Alto police vehicle turns on his lights and follows you into town and cites you for doing 65 in a 55 mph zone. I wonder whether Alto has a large enough tax base to support the municipality without this extra speedtrap revenue. At least the ladies at the municipal court were pleasant on the phone a few weeks later when I called to settle the matter. I sure as heck won't make a wrong turn in Lufkin next time...
