I have been using this awesome insurance broker for the past 18 years and he has never disappointed me...even when he was not able to get me the best rate. For instance, I have 2 special automobiles. AMICA which is number one insurance company in the nation for non military people was charging me close to $4K a year. This includes a 100/300/50 thousand and a 4 million umbrella policy at a cost of $56 for the whole year. He told me there was a company who specializes in collectibles or classic automobile insurance (Hagerty Classic insurance). I investigate the company and it turns out its a solid company. Now, I am paying less than $1600 a year and I get to keep the same coverage. On top of that, I got a CBR Honda 2017 and I paying less than 200 bucks for the whole year under progressive...thanks to Ritesh too.
On the other hand, I also wanted to get a home insurance policy including earthquake. He told me I was already getting "an awesome deal from Amica" once he reviewed my policy. In fact, He could not match a high risk to insure home (I live surrounded by nothing but vegetation and also in a top of a hill). I am paying about $2200 a year for both (home and earthquake). The closes he got was at $3300.
I am always try to do some homework before speaking to a professional. For instance, I learned through Consumer Reports that if you have a good health insurance, you don't need to pay for the "medical" portion of the your car insurance. I also learned that 15/30/5 is really nothing when it comes to bodily injury and property damage. Are we crazy? that covers you a couple of chonies in the Emergency Room. I understood I had to get an Umbrella policy. It is always nice to have coverage after your insurance reaches a max. its very inexpensive and a no brainer.
