Bean clothing and gear is not incredibly overpriced -the least you can get at the outlet besides a very minimal 30% off is a little bit of good customer servicing, but you're not gonna get that here in Ellsworth. They're all walking around talking to each other and ignoring the customers .What they really care about is pushing the L.L. Bean credit card so be ready for that. Sorry to say, but at this rate, L.L. Bean's gonna join all the others like Eddie Bauer and they're going to end up closing their stores because they charge way too much and the sizing is poor and the customer service stinks. Of course it's geared towards the tourist so that's their saving grace cause people want the name ....Honestly, it's really not worth the money. I looked at a man's shirt that was an extra large that looked like a women's medium. It literally was crinkly like it had been taken home, washed and shrunk and returned, which yes customers do this, but shame on L.L. Bean for putting it back out on the rack that should be donated not re-sold You have to be careful at the L.L. Bean outlet because a lot of the stuff is product that was ordered online or from the catalog that the customer wore washed or used for a year and returned So keep that in mind. Once in a while when they have something at 50% off, it's definitely worth looking at but my grievance today is walking around the store and all the sales women working in there; they Just look at you and walk away and ignore you so i personally don't think I'll be coming back to this store in Ellsworth again. Corporate needs to have a little chit chat with the manager about the attitude of their employees at their little satellite stores. Leon Leonwood would be pretty disappointed :(

Someone outside was joking about possible reasons they were doing it, but I assume it is the recent surge in Covid. At least I think he was joking. Because of the success of vaccines and Paxlovid in slowing down the spread and reducing its impacts, I think some people believe Covid is finished rather than that it is now like flu strains. Anyway, the wait outside the store was short. I tend to shop more closely in the Home Goods section rather then in the clothing, unless there is something in particular I am looking for. They sometimes have surprising items for sale, such as the time we found our brand of decaf coffee at a great price. The variety of decaf available at warehouse stores can be pretty limited, but if you have a Kurig you are made in the shade. They must sell a lot more of it and make more profit. So i don't shop at TJ Maxx regularly but I like stopping in occasionally to see what they have at that particular moment. It helps me miss Zayre's less from when I went to the Broadway Shopping Center decades ago now.

They said they'd put on hold till sunday, but to be sure we came back the next day. We shopped for more items and left our cart for 5 minutes, which they took and started putting the items away. When we asked for my items on hold they had already put it all away too. Wasted hours of our time, came out in a snowstorm, called management today: "They don't care." Someone must be a restocking Nazi there. They put our stuff away twice before we could buy, and we are not people who spend anymore time shopping than necessary.

It is always a hoot to see a lot of hunting gear, gardening supplies, regular groceries and a wedding gown Bridal section. It looked like their inventory of gowns was extensive. You have to make an appointment to say "yes to the dress". There is so much to look at here. I do miss the older items that used to be here though, such as the chain sold by the foot that came up through the floor. If you need something then Hussey's should have it. If they don't then you probably don't need it anyway. If you are in the area, I recommend visiting this unique store.
