I was so impressed with the bouquets, boutonnieres, and all of the arrangements on the tables and ceremony. Everything was more lush and beautiful than I had imagined and their work really made our reception come to life. We ended up deciding to add in greenery for our tent poles and they absolutely completed the beautiful look we were going for. Getting married into a family with a more traditional background made me nervous. How was I going to have a ceremony that appealed to them but also didn't seem blasphemous and fake to me? The answer: Rev. Claire Goodman. Rev. Claire conducts a lot of weddings in the Charlottesville area, and her experience shows. She's incredibly organized, but also specifically deals with interfaith marriages and the challenges that can arise there. She really made me feel more comfortable discussing ceremony basics, what my husband and I as a couple did / did not want, and was genuinely interesting in getting to know us better so she could tailor the ceremony appropriately. She made us fill out a super long questionnaire that, at the time seemed like overkill, but in retrospect was worth it. It definitely asked some hard questions which probably should be asked anyway when people are planning on getting married. But, that's a topic for another day. Rev. Claire usually likes to meet at Cville Coffee and she was prompt responding to text, email and phone calls. Half way through the planning process I moved from Charlottesville so these digital forms of communication were more important to me. On the day of the wedding Rev. Claire was on time, conducted a beautiful ceremony, and even stuck around a bit afterward to mingle with the guests and get a picture taken with us. I highly recommend her as an officient.

On the day of our engagement session, it started raining. Rob not only met us early but also listened to what we wanted for our photos, which was to capture the natural beauty of the Shenandoah Valley during sunset. He changed the location to try to avoid the rain (which we did!) and decided we should leave earlier to try to get some photos in case it started raining out there. Well, it never rained and as it cleared, we thought there still might be a great sunset. Rob drove us all around skyline drive and spent extra time with us at no charge because he knew I really wanted sunset photos. We ended up experiencing something extraordinary as the sun turned bright pink as it set. He truly went above and beyond that day but we realized that he always does that. Rob is also one of the happiest people you have ever met which makes working with him extremely pleasant and fun. On the day of the wedding, Rob would do anything for the perfect shot including laying on the floor at the reception (which many wedding guests commented on how incredible he was because they had never seen a wedding photographer do that before!). We love our wedding pictures as both he and his assistant captured so many amazing moments during the day! They are so beautiful and we are so happy we had the chance to work with him on our wedding day. He was wonderful to work with during the whole wedding planning process, our engagement session and at our wedding. He is so talented and we were grateful that we had him photographing our wedding. We can't thank him enough for perfectly capturing our wedding day.
