This place is bad, let me explain. 1) The photos on the website are misleading as that is what it may have looked like 10 years ago. 2) When I received the keys to my apartment, it was a mess. Dirty walls, filthy WC, the bed looked like a 300 Kg couple was sleeping there and it was making noises, waking me up every time I turned side. Those people don't even care about some maintenance. 3) The area around is deprived and the west wing is suffering because of the College of Building, located opposite, which has two huge industrial air conditions (or something like that) that make a loud noise from early morning until 4 in the evening. As you can imagine the guys attending such an institution are not the cream of the Leeds society, although they seemed quite friendly when they asked me to buy them cigarettes. 4) 425 pounds per month is the rent alone, you need at least 40 pounds per month for electricity and 10 for water depending on the usage. The 2MB internet costs 30 pounds per month, although the connection seems slower than a 200 KB. Downloading is not an option and even youtube is excruciatingly slow. Additionally, the connection is really unreliable and crashes every now and then. 5) The one and only heater in the apartment is not enough to make the house warm and is energy consuming too (4 pounds for 9 hours of heating).Moreover, the place gets immediately cold when you turn it off. The bedroom has no heater and neither does the bathroom, meaning the only way to get warm in there is to open the shower and wait for the evaporating water to make it a comfortable place to take a shower. 6)If you have a mail package that is too big to fit in the mailbox the letting office takes it and you have to pay 1 or 2 pounds to get it! Believe me they make quite a few pounds from that and in a legal way as it is a contract term. I expected a better treatment on that matter. Considering the high rent most tenants pay, making a few extra pounds that way strikes a bit badly. 7) On the plus side the apartment offers you everything you need, towels (mine where torn and I never used them), duvets and a fully equipped kitchen which I had to bleach twice to just to be sure. 8) Very close to the city center and 25 minutes from the University of Leeds. 9) There is a bar, a small store downstairs but I have never used them, so no opinions on that. In conclusion I made a mistake getting the place. After the inspection was completed they charged me almost 100 pounds for not cleaning the house although on multiple occasions I informed them that I left the apartment in the same state they gave it to me. As you can imagine those money taken from my deposit go into their bank account and not to clean the apartment as you would expect. Stay away from that place read more

DO NOT GO INTO THESE APARTMENTS THEY RIP YOU OFF So I lived at Citispace over a year for business, the room itself was fairly comfortable, the price was okay and it was in a fairly decent location, but these are the problems I had: - Expensive internet bought from another company. I once came home after a couple of weeks away to find the £20 I had put on had completely ran out. This was on a Saturday so the adept shop was not open, security are supposed to keep a back-up in case this were to happen, BUT THEY DID NOT HAVE ONE FOR MY ROOM!!! I had to go an entire weekend without electricity. - The letterboxes are tiny so even small parcels such as book cannot fit through, you have to then pay £1 for each parcel the RM depot is just up the road. - One of the security men accidentally let slip that there is NOT security on for 24hrs, 7days a week as stated in the contract and so this is an outright lie - I needed to be out of my apartment 2months before my contract was due to finish. I spoke to the woman at the reception who said that this was fine as long as she could show people the room and they would take it. I found out later on that my room was never actually advertised. - Now the deposit, this is the worst. I cleaned the entire apartment before I left and I will admit I did break a couple of plates and lose cutlery whilst I was there (but bear in mind I lived there for a fairly long time). They charged me £1 per piece of cutlery lost, £5 per plate, £40 to clean the room, £25 to clean a mystery stain on the settee and so on it was ridiculous. When I asked to the see the receipts and I would be happy to pay whatever they have they said the charges are just standard charges and receipts cannot be provided, but this is illegal. After much arguing I managed to get some of my money back, DO NOT BACK DOWN TO THESE CONS. - The place is dirty. There was a puke stain outside the entrance for months, before it eventually got washed away by the rain. There are also tonnes of rough people hanging out around the building. - The only one good thing I have to say about this place is George who worked in the reception was really pleasant and helpful, and I couldn't say a bad word about it if I'm honest. His co-workers however leave something else to be desired. One of the two women is just completely hopeless and always seems to be in another world and the other one is just downright rude, who I have had numerous arguments with. STAY AWAY FROM THESE APARTMENTS!!! I was looking at the reviews on this web site and felt I had to give you a real insight of my stay at Citispace as I feel some of these comments were a bit un fair. I stayed at Citispace for 1 year while I was working in Leeds and rented off the Citispace sales and lettings company. I had a lovely stay there. It's very close to the city centre, shops and bars. The apartments were vey clean and fully furnished including all the kitchen utensils and everything which was ideal for me as I did not need to buy anything when I moved in. The staff were really friendly and helpful when I moved in, anything I needed they helped in whatever way they could. The car park is very secure. It's a toggle entry system which I had to leave a deposit for in case it was lost which is understandable. It gave me a good piece of mind that my car was very safe. The security guards were very helpful especially the older man with the white hair and glasses when I had parcel deliveries. As I worked unsociable hours, I would just give them a call and they would come drop my parcels off to my door on an evening. Well worth £1 since THERE IS NO CONCERGE and it saved me the hassle of going to pick them up at the depot. The maintenance team were great, any problems I had I just went down to the office or called them and reported it. They came and fixed it the same day. Very friendly guys too. The electric was on a pay as you go meter and was with a different company called adept which was reasonable as I was spending around £50 per month in the winter and £30 a month in the summer. A lot cheaper than my quarterly bills in my old apartment in Manchester. As I worked unsociable hours I just logged my card details with them and called them up when I couldn't get into the office to buy my eclectic. The internet was also with the adept company which I admit was a bit more pricey and did look into getting another internet company in which they didn't have a problem with as long as I had a rout plan where the wiring was going to be laid. I decided not to get this in the end as I didn't want to be tied into a contract if I suddenly had to move again with work and Adept did a pay as you go option so I just paid for the speed I wanted. I got the £21 for 1 month option and I used to watch BBC I player and films on line with no problems. Over all my stay at Citispace was great. The staffs were friendly and helpful. The apartments were clean and cleverly designed. I couldn't ask for anything more for the price I was paying with the location. I would recommend staying here if you're not looking for these really swish expensive apartments on the water front and you're looking for convenient city living at a low cost. :) read more

I've rented a flat from an agency (hunters) so I wont complain here about the problem I had with them. Some points to keep in mind: 1) Internet cost at least the double of the normal fares. I tried the 20£/month fare and it's shared among all the wing of the building. In the evening with many people connected it's difficult to do anything but browse websites. YouTube wont stream anything above 360p, still pausing from time to time to buffer. Playing video games on-line it's impossible and the most of the ports are blocked so that P2P, Team Speak FTP and so many other application wont work at all. Now I'm paying 35£/month and the quality of the connection is quite good but it's limited to 1 MBytes/s so I cant stream high quality videos and though being called unrestricted P2P is still limited to 100 Kb/s. As a comparison a friend of mine is paying 20£/month with virgin and have slightly better connection but 3 times the bandwidth. 2) The electricity is fairly expansive. 3) You CAN'T change the internet provider or the electricity supplier. They have the monopoly of both. 4) to pay for internet and the electricity you have to go to an office that opens mon-fri 9am-6pm. Because I work at that time I can't get there in time. After lot of complaining I managed to make them store my card details so now I can pay by phone but it's very unprofessional and they make me pay 50p extra without even telling me. 5) Having a parcel delivered to you cost 2£.What is the point of having a concierge then? 6) To get your fob you have to deposit 20£. Ok, they are giving them back to you but I still don't get why I'm I supposed to leave a deposit for that. 7) Almost all the employee I've met are a little bit rude. Most will finish texting on their phone before even saying you hello. 8) The radiator does not warm up the space well enough and is placed directly below the fan, that you can't turn off, so that it will suck most of the warm air that tends to float upward. Pretty convenient when you sell the electricity your self! 9) Being so small where ever you put your bet it's going to end up close to the hallway and you are going to hear noise even if somebody quietly pass through. To sum it up: a frustrating rip off EDIT: I just got a nice surprise: I was wondering why some people said that the parcel delivery cost 2£ and now I just got one I know: I was paying 1£ so far but they discovered I rented with an agency so now they make me pay 2£. These apartments are a con!!!! All the staff in the reception are awful, horrible and right rude especially Lisa Brown..the chubby lady who thinks she own the building and who doesn't treat customers rightshe treats clients like poo. She is very disgusting. My overall experience in that apartment was horrific and unimaginable disgusting. The electricity were absolutely expensive which I had to top up 30 quid a week and the internet router were highly expensive too. I rented the internet router for 30 quid when I first moved in and every month I have 10 quid for the router toggle rent. It was disgusting!!! I WAS ABSOLUTELY APPALLED BY THE APARTMENT'S SERVICE!!! laundry room cost me a bomb especially the drier.it robbed me off 7 quid for drying my clothes..how horrible was that! The citispace were blaming me for something I didn't do like leaving rubbish outside our door but I DIDN'T LEAVE RUBBISH OUTSIDE MY APARTMENT DOOR. They've been emailing me constantly about leaving rubbish outside my door. WHAT THE FUCK! and to be honestthe building smells very badly especially in the hallway and the lift. Its horrible!!! The inventory report came to me by an email and they basically say the damage I've done was absolutely massive but I didn't do anything wrong and it was already there when I move in. Citispace offers a modern urban style apartment for the student with the extra cash. However, the rental value of typically 450 pounds can be a bit misleading. First of all the 25 pound a month electricity allowance is not enough. Ideally you would have to top up around 5 to 10 pounds per month extra depending upon your electricity usage. The internet connection is the biggest let down with the speed of the included internet being only 200kbps. So it isn't actually a broadband. You can upgrade to the highest available 2mbps internet service for 15 pounds a month. A bit expensive but definitely recommended if you want to have a decent browsing experience. On the positive side its location is ideal. It is only around a 10-15 minute walk to the civic quarter campus and around 20-25 minutes from the Leeds uni campus. It has a bar downstairs which is fairly okay. It also has a 24/7 Shell shop which is only a 2 minute walk. read more

I am very disappointed with these apartments, in paticular the hidden charges that I was unaware of when I first entered. The internet varies from £15-£30 depending on what speed you want, however take note that for £15 you get a 200kbps speed and even if you were to pay full price it still then would only get you 2mbps speed. Not good for the avid browser. Also the electricity costs a ridiculous amount, especially if you wish to use the heating (which doesn't heat the apartments up all too well). I've resorted to taking my chargers into work and using a hot water bottle to heat me up too. If like myself you are a very light sleeper, you can hear absolutely everything through the walls, from a person walking about to even sneezing/coughing. Apartment is satisfactory; the security of the site seems to be good but the major problem is the cost of electric prepayment meters. The electric has to be brought off a 3rd party company in the form of £20 vouchers which is then added to the prepayment meter that charges a very high 15p per kwh and 26p per day standing charge. After researching this I have discovered that it is illegal for the electric to be resold at a higher price than is originally paid for it by the landlord or person/company responsible for paying the bill. Anyone who has lived there and paid there high price for electric is entitle to a refund dating back 10 years maximum read more

Internet and electric unit price are ridiculus !! Internet allows u to check basic website and its all what u can do for 25 Pounds, electricity 20 pounds enought for one week (with electricity save mode) and one radiator in living room only ( U need to wait 2 hours to worm up a bedroom !!).
