Like any normal human being, I hate dental work and going for a visit is as much fun as pulling teeth (excuse the pun). I heard a lot of positive feedback about this place from friends and acquaintances, so I figured it was worth a try. I will never say that I enjoy going to a dentist because that is just a blatant lie, but this was the least stressful visit I have ever had. I have always had crap teeth and need constant fillings, so I have had my fair share of dentists so this review is coming with lots of comparisons. The staff was nice and efficient and the dentist that saw me was very nice and caring. She explained and showed what work needed to be done and was SUPER GENTLE. I had to do couple of filling and I did not come out shaking like a leaf from all the stress. I called to inquire about a service, and the receptionist's attitude was extremely unprofessional and dismissive. It felt as though I was inconveniencing her just by asking questions. The front desk staff represent the doctor and the entire practice, and this experience alone was enough for me to decide not to come here. **THEY ARE SCAMMING PATIENTS** If I could give this office negative stars I would and I am reporting them to the attorney general as well as the nyc office of medical misconduct. This is not about the dentist as she is lovely but her staff is taking advantage and lying to patients and I'm Not sure if she knows! The front office is in on it and lied and pretended to put me on the phone with the dentist after I asked to speak with a manager to which they said the dentist would call me back but it was the dental hygienist who I was forming my complaint about. The staff/ hygienist is insisting on "deep cleans" as opposed to the normal check up cleaning! The hygienist is only performing the normal cleaning and trying to charge patients for a deep clean which is an invasive procedure that is diagnosed by the dentist NOT THE HYGIENIST!! If you are unsure of what a deep clean is let me explain - is it a procedure where they clean under your gum lines and use local anesthetic and you have multiple appointments to stop gum disease. It is very painful and has weeks of recovery - not 1 day with swishing your mouth with salt water.... My "deep clean" that i stated I didn't want was barely a normal cleaning. I planned on saying something to the office manager when i went to the counter as well however, they then bully you at the front desk. What appalls me the most is that they are clearly taking advantage of people who may have no knowledge or possible language barriers. I gave them a shot as a new patient because of new insurance and the reviews of the place seemed fine - ok office manager may be a a B - whatever. The dentist is good. She was super friendly but her STAFF IS TAKING ADVANTAGE Of people! DO NOT PAY THEM! DO NOT AGREE TO A DEEP CLEAN BY THE HYGIENIST! INSIST ON SPEAKING WITH THE DENTIST! ONLY THE DENTIST CAN DIAGNOSE THIS AND THEN YOU WILL HAVE MULTIPLE APPOINTMENTS OF A NECESSARY EVIL. When I called to ask to speak with the manager she stated the dentist would call back. After waiting hours and making multiple call back and leaving messages with the answering service. I finally got a call back from "the dentist" however it wasn't... IT WAS THE HYGIENIST saying she was the dentist! I advised that I would be reporting them if they did not refund me the money that i was demanded to pay! She said she would talk to the "owner" as she was not and would speak with the hygienist. IF YOU ARE THE DENTIST READING THIS PLEASE CALL ME! An extremely pleasant experience! The office is spotless and all of the equipment is brand new and immaculate. The staff is professional, polite and helpful. I had a check up, a cleaning and zoom whitening. The appointment took about two hours. Dr. Marina's bedside manner is very pleasant and her touch is gentle. This was probably the first time that my gums did not bleed during cleaning. I mentioned that I would not mind having my teeth lightened a bit and was offered to try Zoom Whitening. I'm very happy with the outcome and would highly recommend this painless procedure. As a cherry on top, I was given a mouthwash as a thank you gift as I was leaving. read more

Absolute TRASH, from the receptionist to the doctor herself. The receptionist is downright rude, and constantly speaks in an annoyed/frustrated tone, no matter how nice you are. Moving on to the doctor, my regular cleaning was rough and painful. I never have been in so much pain from a cleaning, but I bled so much during the cleaning and I physically was in a lot of pain. Throughout the procedure, the doctor constantly was saying that I have a lot of build up/I need a deep cleaning, which not only was uncomfortable because I couldn't speak due to my mouth being open in an awkward position, but also was shocking, as I take quite good care of my oral hygiene. After the painful cleaning was thankfully over, I received no explanation as to "why" I needed a deep cleaning, aside from the fact that I have a lot of "build up." Upon me asking what I can do at home to help this issue, the doctor said I can do nothing, and that only this deep cleaning will solve all my problems for I already have "gum disease," and repeated numerous times that this deep cleaning will cost me $450. I go to another doctor, who performed x rays and who took a look at my teeth, and he was surprised to hear that a deep cleaning was even recommended to me (due to my age) and said that I have absolutely no sign of gum disease and a deep cleaning is absolutely not necessary. All of this doctor's statements were corroborated by him explaining my xrays to me. In conclusion, Citidental is NOT the place where I will be taking a trip to ever again. read more

This office is really good. i called the office to see if i could come in the same day as i was having some pain and they scheduled for a few hours later. Office is new or at least looks very upgraded. Parking was very easy on the street to find. After a quick few forms i was in the chair. Dr Schraga came in, was very thorough. a quick look revealed that i had a broken tooth and it was waht was causing my discomfort. She was informational. What i loves is that she spoke to me like i am a person not like god talking from the mountain to us - mortal people, she patiently explaining what my treat options were and the cost of the it. Since i have insurance a portion of it is covered. overall i am very happy with the visit. staff was friendly. nurse maria was realy nice. i will definitely recommend this place to my family. read more

The staff of Citidental of Woodhaven are a step below common thieves. After my wife moved upstate and admitted that she is now seeing a new dentist due to her geographic location, suddenly a bill for $398 for a service already covered by her insurance company gets sent to her old address in Queens, threatening to contact her creditors. She got scared and paid the loot. However once consulting her Dental insurance company and getting proof that the identical claim was submitted twice, after around two weeks and a slew of phone calls I finally got the staff to agree to refund my wife the part that 'technically was covered.' Now, they sent another threatening letter about contacting creditors to the new address (what a impeccable group of individuals) for the same claim demanding another $398. My wife is being treated like an irresponsible slob, especially when she was actually willing to hand over the money to make it go away. I do not know who to blame specifically so I cannot name names, however the same individual who signs the threatening letter (which I'm sure was simply generated out of a computer without anyone thinking critically) also signed the refund check my wife received. The staff during my contacts was frequently unprofessional and not knowledgeable, and their actions only back this up. If you care about your mental and financial well being, do not become a patient of Citidental. Even if you have dental coverage you will pay in the end. The dentist is great! She knows what she's doing, overall a lovely dentist. My family and I have been going to her for a few years, but then she moved to the crossbay location and got a new front desk staff and she is freakin horrendous!!!! Just to call and make an appointment is a nightmare with that lady, she's rude and sooooo unprofessional. She's not someone that anyone should trust to help their patients. I'm honestly surprised she even still has a job. She's literally the ONLY reason why I won't be going back here. If they ever get rid of her, I'll come back, until then BYE! read more

I'm on the fence at to whether I'd recommend this place to anyone bcos my experience wasn't a good one & my mother who is a patient there had a pretty decent experience there. First off they say walk- ins are welcome but that's a lie, they are not. I've read reviews saying that the front desk is friendly, that isba blatant lie. I have never seen anyone sit at a front desk with more attitude than this person. She's likeba camilian or bipolar. One second she's somewhat pleasant,than she switches to being ABSOLUTELY rude & unprofessional. How she speaks to ppl on the phone is horrible. Not a good kind of person to have at the forefront of your business. The rest of the staff is definitely friendly that I can say as well as the office being clean & equipment being new as well. Dr. Shraga was definitely gentle on the hands with my mom & made her experience not as stressful but I have no dental insurance & paid $150 for Exam,Xrays & a cleaning. I wasn't very happy with my service. My exam was brief barely look at my teeth just took a quick glance I explained that I felt that maybe my fillings needed to be re-done bcos I was experiencing some discomfort & that was dismissed just saying to use a different tooth paste for sensitive teeth. My cleaning was a very minimal cleaning. Visit was quick & brief. I felt like bcos I didn't have dental insurance I was given any real consultation as to what kind of work I could get done on my teeth. Than for my mom when she had to pay her 20% she got a CC from Care Credit that they stated they accepted, than when they realized that Care Credit charges them 10% fee they wanted to add that 10% fee to my mother's bill. That's unprofessional especially since my mother has to pay interest on her own bill for that CC. As you can see I definitely have mixed reviews of this dental office. My number one complaint however is the receptionist at the front desk. Very RUDE & Unprofessional truly doesn't make anyone want to go there. read more

Me and my family of four have been patients of the CitiDental office in Queens for a while now and have had variety of work done (root canals, crowns, cleaning, and veneers). It's conveniently located which is a big plus, but I would spend any time on transportation just to be treated by people who work there. It includes doctors and helping personnel. They are true artists of the dentistry with "golden hands" and kind hearts. Office is modern and squeaky clean. You should see all new top of the line equipment used with such skill and precision! I came to CitiDental with hideous, discolored teeth, and now they look fabulous! Very natural, not "Chiclets" or overly white. Natural teeth have gradations of color, and she created a beautiful subtle, natural look for my smile. I did not feel pain or pressure during root canal procedure which i was always terrified of. my veneers which i ended up getting were great. great look and feel. i feel like i have a new smile. i waited for it for 35yrs and im just so happy. The office staff provides great service and patients care. Overall atmosphere is relaxed and friendly. The doctor answered every one of my many questions! They let me ask a million questions and unlike others did not seemed annoyed by it or driven by alterior motives. Over all i feel safe in Citidental and that my teeth and health was put first. My kids look forward and even ask to go to the dentist after their time with Dr. Shraga. One of the most important things are the prices. Which were are very moderate and affordabel for there services i received. CitiDental certainly wasnt the chepaest place(i would be affraid of that), but certainly is not geared to be the most expensive. And the fact that they take dental insurances was extremely convinient, so it was not expensive at all in the end. i have been to many denstist for evaluations and chose citidental for their care, understanding, different tratment options they provide and their patience in explaining pros and cons of each of the options for me I highly recommend CitiDental office to anyone who is looking for the best dentist in NYC with affordable prices free parking which is offered is a huge plus read more
