We called Dr. Hwang's office, and the front desk staff was incredibly helpful and recommended that we bring her in. I was trying to rearrange schedules to get our pup in as soon as possible but couldn't make it until the next morning. A few minutes before they stopped taking walk-ins that evening, the front desk actually called me back to let me know they were about to close--just in case we wanted to bring our dog in that same day. That level of thoughtfulness meant so much. We ended up bringing her in the next morning, and everyone was just as friendly and welcoming in person. Dr. Hwang took great care of our dog, calmed our nerves, and clearly explained the injury and treatment plan. He was also very careful with the treatment given her age and followed up with us a few days later to check on how she was doing. We are incredibly grateful to Dr. Hwang and his entire team for the compassion and care they showed our 14-year-old dog. We highly recommend Dr. Hwang and his practice to anyone looking for excellent veterinary care for their pet!

I have waited some time to write this review to allow my initial frustration to settle down. I want…read moreto be fair and clear and share my unpleasant experience. I brought my dog, Gansito, to Grace Animal Hospital on 10/20/25. I was initially quoted approximately $1,300 for his exams, bloodwork and xrays. After that was completed, I was informed that he would be needing surgery for bladder stone removal. The office staff came into the room and on their tablet/ipad showed me the breakdown of the cost of his surgery. which was about $3,800 which was paid in full. Once i paid that amount, i was handed a receipt and was told they would be starting his surgery soon and they would call and updated me, I proceeded to go back home. About 30 minutes later i received a call from Grace Animal Hospital saying that I had been undercharged and that I now owed an additional $2,000. I was in shock; I had just paid a little over $3,800. By that point my dog had already been left at their office to undergo surgery. I felt like I was being held emotionally hostage knowing my pet needed care but suddenly being told i had to pay thousands more at the very last minute. How did the price go up in the amount of time it took me to get back home? I was told it was a mistake and the surgery itself was not $2,000, it was $4,000. I will be clear and say the veterinarian was kind and compassionate and i have no complaints about the actual medical care. But this kind of billing error and lack of transparency is completely unacceptable. If a mistake of this magnitude was made on their end, I do believe the clinic should have absorbed the cost or at least worked a payment plan with me instead of just placing that burden on the pet owner after the fact. I really hope Grace Animal Hospital takes steps to fix their billing practices. Pet owners should never be placed in situations where their love for their animal is exploited through poor communication and sudden financial surprises.

Every other vet hospital I've been to pushed unnecessary tests and procedures, which was stressful and exhausting for both me and my pets. Dr. Shargani is truly a healer. He saved my cat Bella from kidney failure--she is completely healed after other vets told me to put her down. He also helped my cat Abu, who was having frequent seizures, by putting him on the right treatment plan. His guidance on nutrition and follow-up care has made all the difference. I can't thank him enough.

She does sleep with me and follow me around. I definitely give her the most attention because I am a dog lover! I definitely know how to communicate with dogs, Weather it from a wink or a nod, I get all their social cues . As much as I love her the truth is I don't know her history. The Housekeeper had told me a couple times that I needed to go with her to the vet. Telling me that the vet did not like her . I figured the vet didn't like the Housekeeper. That she was the feisty one. When we finally got into the office, Sister did not look stressed out at all. Most dogs get fearful. Not my Sister. I was told to put her on the scale and the nurse told me to hold her. I put her up there and lovingly cuddled her into my tummy. Be good girls, Sister. Next thing you know, the doctor comes in right away. He said I remember this dog. Let me get the muzzle. I realize at that moment I don't know if she needs a muzzle. This is a new situation for the both of us together. He repeated Maybe. I don't need the muzzle. Then I hear the nurse say doctor. Very seriously. You need the muzzle. Shocked, I looked into my sisters eyes and said Sister. Did you bite him she looked at me very seriously and blinker eyes which means. Yes ! Oh no Sister. I couldn't believe it. My sister is a bully dog. After the muzzle. Everything went smoothly. You just never know ! There's a morning session for surgeries. Then after 3 o'clock. Luckily, I was early an hour and saw a man standing there. He let me know that you have to wait in Line . They only take eight patients. So stood there for a while. Just chatting with the community. It was nice. I give this experience. Five stars. Definitely learn some stuff about my Sister. Hopefully I can teach her to behave better within time.

I called for an appointment and Isabella got me in right away. She was so pleasant on the phone. I met with Dr. Hope for an exam and consultation. Dr. Hope had a high level of professionalism that I had not received from my previous vet. They took x-rays and showed me exactly what the issue was with my cat. After a surgery and some recovery time my little girl is back to her playful and joyful self. Of note, my cat has been labeled "dangerous" and "difficult to handle" at our former vet's office. I was [shocked] when the staff at Lakewood Pet Vet told me she's a sweetheart and not difficult at all. This team truly cares about how they treat animals and do so with the utmost care! I will be bringing all my cats here moving forward.

He was taken in quickly and I was initially reassured, which helped in that moment. After that, most of the communication shifted toward costs, approvals, and payments rather than clear medical updates. I understand veterinary care is expensive and estimates are necessary. However, this experience felt far more transactional, especially in moments that required compassion. I paid about $517 for basic treatment (antibiotics, patient room fees, iv fluids, vaccines, cone, and fees), but no diagnostics were completed. I was quoted $1,000+ for x-rays. Feeling overwhelmed by staffs, I ultimately left and sought care elsewhere. At another clinic, my dog received imaging, was diagnosed with a broken rib and dental injury, and received full treatment for a much more affordable price. Beyond the cost, that clinic felt far more present and personal, and the experience itself felt reassuring and grounded rather than transactional. Thankfully, he is now safe and recovering. After posting my original review, the business publicly responded and asked me to reach out directly. I did so immediately, in good faith, hoping for clarification or resolution. I never received a response. That gap between public reply and private silence is part of why I'm sharing this. That, combined with the experience in person, is what disappointed me most -- not just the visit itself, but the lack of follow-through afterward. When a business responds publicly but doesn't continue that same level of communication privately, it raises concerns about sincerity and whether the response is about resolution or reputation.
