I like this brand a lot and bought already many candles at the New York store on Elizabeth Street next to my house. Shortly before Christmas I bought some candles at this store in Paris and one of them was a gift for my mother. Unfortunately the package contained a different candle that it was labeled on it, but I guess that is a mistake that can happen, even though it was a bit of a shame having the wrong candle under the Christmas tree.
Anyhow, I went back after a few days and wanted to exchanged it. Since I would not see my mom anymore for a few weeks, I wanted to exchange the candle to a flavor I am always buying, the original gift for my mom was a Christmas candle.
The owner of the store exchanged my candle, gave it to me and took leave of me with a 'haven a nice day'. I knew this candle would be 5 Euro less expensive than the other one - so I mentioned it to him - thought he might have forgotten himself that there is a difference, although Christmas candles are always more expensive than the regular ones. When I pointed it out to him, he got already a bit grumpy and said I could buy one more candle and then he would give me 5 Euro off. I told him that I would not accept that since it was his fault and that I would like to have the 5 Euro refunded. He opened his cash register, slammed the coins on the counter and would not say a word to me anymore. I left the store, said good-bye and haven't gotten any response from him.
Since I am shopping here quite frequently, I know that the guy is the owner or franchise owner of this store, I think his name is S.
This behavior in a luxurious and well-being store like Cire Trudon is highly unacceptable. read more
