Hatchd Hatchery - The post they posted this morning massively price dropping.

    Hatchd Hatchery

    (1 review)

I "won" a drawing for 3 hatching eggs which they said they would hatch, giving me chicks from their…read morebatch of hatches. I was told it would include an Ayam Cemani, a Chocolate English Orpington, and either a Black Copper Maran or a Gold Double laced Barnevelder. I had asked for the laced one since I already have one of those same marans she said she had one hatching for me. They hatch, I go to meet her at a store to pick them up from them. I got home and it clicked she didn't give me the Gold Laced one, she gave me the maran, but her post she posted with mine saying they were going to their home she put the maran as a black and blue splash and I googled what a black and blue splash was and and it was totally different than the Black Copper Maran so I was ok with it. I also bought an extra chick from her using the $5 coupon code she sent me for "winning" and so I got the Lavender Amerucana for $15 instead of the $20 she sells them for. I got this one because I got two labeled as "amerucana" from the feed store and later learned they are Easter eggers. I wanted the pretty blue eggs so I bought the Amerucana from her specifically for the blue eggs. Now I'm not a chicken expert but I'm in groups with many very experienced chicken people. I excitedly posted photos of my new babies and immediately the comments started coming in. "You got scammed", "those are NOT pure Ayam Cemani, I have 4 breeding pairs, Ayam Cemani do NOT have feathery feet", "that Cemani looks like it's mixed with a maran or silkie" and "that is NOT a Lavender Amerucana, what you have has feather legs and Amerucanas do NOT have feathery legs, also Amerucanas do NOT have a typical chicken comb, they have a pea comb, yours has a regular comb, and Lavender Amerucanas are very light as chicks, yours is very dark". "That Amerucana is not an Amerucana, it may be an Amerucana mix but definitely not Amerucana, looks like an Amerucana and maran mix". "Your chocolate Orpington is definitely not chocolate, it's a black Orpington". All these comments swarmed in. So I started researching and all these things I'm being told are correct. So I message them and tell them I've got questions. They immediately say the Cemani has no way of being mixed since they are in a separate cage. I ask why it has feathery feet and they can't tell me. I ask about the Amarucana and why it has feathery feet and doesn't have a pea comb and why it's so dark and they skirt around that. The next day (this morning) I get a message saying that the amarucana rooster "might" be an olive egger, which means it's a barnyard mix in other words. I asked for pictures of the parents for all of theirs and they couldn't provide all of them. The photos of the ones they did send are Not looking like Full amerucanas. The lavender one has a comb that is NOT a pea comb. And when they sent a picture of the "amerucana rooster" It was in a space with what seemed to be orpingtons, and it does not look like a rooster, and is a frizzle chicken, NOT an amerucana. They later messaged me saying that their amerucana rooster "might" be an olive egger which would make sense on why mine has feathery feet and is darker. My friend also BOUGHT two of these same lavender amerucanas from her a week prior for the same reason, to have blue eggs, but she paid $20 each for them. Now we are finding out that we actually have paid Amerucana prices $20 each, for EASTER EGGERS that typically cost $4- $6 each. Needless to say, we both are NOT happy. This morning I'm now seeing they have changed their website, taken down the amerucana and orpingtons from their website, they have added wording to their pinned post stating that they don't have pure breeds, and a disclaimer that they can't guarantee any of their chickens to be full breed. And they posted a post showing a mixture of chicks saying "assorted variety no guarantee on breed" selling for $5 each, and there is one of what we got as lavender amerucanas and there is one that I got as a Cemani in there also that they were selling for $40 yesterday... they now have breeds awailable listed as Easter eggers. Granted this couple was very sweet, they were quick to reply to messages, and all that. I'm not saying that they are for sure scammers, but maybe just a lot less educated as they make themself out to be about the "rare breeds" they sell. They have their love that directly says "RARE BREEDS- CHICKS - HATCHING EGGS" this is making a claim that they have ACTUAL pure rare breeds for sale, and the prices they previously had listed on their website before today were true pure breed, rare breed prices. None the less, I got 4 chicks from them that appear to be healthy, BARNYARD MIXES and they should be labeled as such and advertised as such. If you want some barnyard mix chicks, and they lower their prices to actually be barnyard mix prices, they yea they had fast and friendly service.
