I had just returned to Pickering GO station and needed a Circle K. I know the area fairly well in the sense that I know that there are two Circle K stores in close proximity: - This store around the corner from the train station on Liverpool Road that's a part of an Esso gas station and is next door to the mall. - The store further north on Liverpool Road, just past Kingston Road that's in a plaza with a McDonald's. I typically go to the latter one. It's a standalone store with Polar Pop machines and more. I decided to visit this Circle K with the gas station for the first time. I had no problem finding a parking spot steps away from the entrance. I backed into the spot and headed inside the store. I liked the drink selection here. It also had chicharron, so I had to get a bag. My voucher was for a Hershey's bar between 43 and 48 grams. What it didn't explicitly state was that the Hershey's bar needed to be the Pokemon version. I grabbed the non-Pokemon version. I got to the counter. The man was helpful to troubleshoot with me. This voucher was such a pain, but he knew what to do and I could finally get my Hershey's cookies and cream bar for free. I had my PC Optimum bar code scanned. I then paid for my bag of chicharron. Done! I thanked this man and left with my goodies. The Hershey's cookies and cream bar was delicious. It's also gone. I have yet to open my bag of chicharron to enjoy. I hope to this weekend. I am glad that I have visited both Circle K stores within a block from each other. (375)

This one has a car wash, Neighbours, and A&W. On Friday night, I filled my car up with gas. I noticed that I was at a pump that did not allow me to pay. I had to go inside instead. Cool. I needed to stretch. I like going into this Neighbours. It has an ATM, a ton of snacks, and a built-in A&W. It was pretty busy at around midnight, with folks chowing down on burgers and fries. There are a decent number of seats and tables to dine in this store. I had a nice cashier who help with my transaction. I swiped my Petro Points card and gas discount card, and then tapped my debit card to pay for everything. I got my receipt and headed to my car. It's a clean convenience store. There were more parking spots in front of this store than the other Circle K stores that I have frequented so far. I backed into a spot and walked in. I will say that customers here are polite. The man held the door for me when I walked in. I left this store and a woman held the door for me to go through it after I had swung it wide open carrying my drinks. It was straightforward getting to the beverages. There are a ton of energy drinks here. I found an entire row of Rockstar beverages. I like that there were sugar-free varieties. I got the fruit punch and silver ice. The man behind the counter was friendly. I find that every person that I have dealt with at Circle K has been nice. I scanned my coupon and it worked well. I find that enlarging it works best on my phone for a successful scan. I scanned my PC Optimum card next, followed by tapping my debit card to pay. All was great. I wished the man a great night and he reciprocated. I had the Rockstar silver ice tonight. I enjoyed it. It explains why I'm writing reviews at this hour, which I normally don't do! And, finally, this gas station on the southeast corner. Back then, this gas station was a Sunoco. It then got bought out by Petro-Canada and it has been one ever since. This station has always had a car wash. It had steady business last night. I filled up my car's tank here, as the temperature dipped just under the freezing mark overnight and I didn't have much gas left. The price is average for Markham. I was in the area picking up dinner. For old time's sake, I dropped by to check things out. It has a Neighbours convenience store. I didn't go it, but it was brightly lit and looked nice. There was lots of paper towel at the gas pump that I was at. I appreciated it. The garbage bin was packed, though. It was enough to toss my paper towel in after I was done pumping gas. Other than this detail, this gas station is clean. I had no problem paying at the gas pump. My Petro-Points, 407 ETR, and credit cards all worked seamlessly. It was great returning here. It's a reliable gas station to drop by, with roughly half the pumps available at around 7 pm on a Wednesday night. (412)

I faced the same issue here in the greater Toronto area. I spotted this Circle K on the right as I was heading northbound after having visited Bingz at CF Fairview Mall. I had never been and thought that I'd try my luck finding Dr Pepper Zero here. This store is a part of an Esso. It's across from Mr Lube. I backed into a spot in front of the store and walked in. I was elated when I spotted many bottles of Dr Pepper Zero. Yay! It felt like a mirage. It wasn't. This store has a Tim Hortons. It tends to do steady business whenever I'm in this store. I saw Froster and Polar Pop machines. The latter has an extensive selection of flavours, similar to what I saw at my go-to Circle K in Ottawa this summer. Staff are always friendly here. My visits have been mainly to redeem digital coupons. Pepsi Zero was also difficult to find back in September. I headed back to this store and it had lots of bottles in stock. It's such a gem! Since then, I have bought everything from chips to Slim Jim pepperoni sticks. I love that this store has everything that I need, including difficult-to-find items. It's a winner. I love this store. There are lockers, but it's nice fetching a delivery at a store when you know that you're not at home to wait for it. I found this Handy Variety and decided to use it as my Amazon pickup location. After work on Friday, I drove over to the plaza in which this store is located. I drove along 16th Avenue heading eastbound and made a left turn, followed by a right turn into the plaza. I parked in a spot practically in front of the store. I then walked in. There were two men at the checkout counter. One was redeeming his lottery winnings. The man next to him wanted a scratch game. While standing in line, I looked at all the plants. I'd like to return to get some. They looked healthy and cheerful. I saw fridges off to my right with beverages. Nice! When it was my turn to approach the counter, I got a sweet older woman. I let her know that I had an Amazon parcel. She looked at my phone and scanned the code. She asked me when I got the notification that I could pick my parcel up. I got it on Thursday, so a day ago. She found my parcel and scanned it. My parcel was mine. I thanked her and wished her a great day. She reciprocated. I headed out carrying my parcel and placed it in my car. I then drove home. I'm happy with the pickup and getting my item. I visited two locations close to where I live. Both only accepted cash. If you know me well, I rarely have cash on me, especially during the pandemic. I'm all plastic cards. I remembered this Esso station that I pass by often heading to and from Stouffville. I decided to try my plastic card luck up there. The place had steady business. I had no problem finding a gas pump and pulled up next to it. I have frequented the Circle K a couple of times that's a part of this Esso. Staff have always been super nice to me. The area around the gas pump was clean. I rarely fill up at Esso. You have the option of either entering your PC Optimum card on the screen or swiping your card. It's funny, but I don't know my PC Optimum card off the top of my head. I can rattle off some card numbers, such as Air Miles, Aeroplan, and my 16-digit RBC client number. I oddly don't know what my PC Optimum card number is. I'll need to work on that. I had no problem using my PC Optimum and credit cards at the pump. It was a smooth transaction with an equally smooth gas fill-up. I thank Esso for not having an issue with its credit and debit cards. I had a terrific experience and relieved that I didn't need to visit more gas stations that night! (381)
