I visited this location ages ago while I was driving back from the Midwest to good ol' California…read moreand we decided to drive through Colorado to visit some friends. You can tell this was years ago, because at this point SoCal only had 1 Raising Cane's and it didn't proliferate yet. We went later at night and were able to easily order at the drive thru. A couple cars ahead of us but not much of a wait and our order came out super quick. Worker was friendly, polite, and welcoming. We got the Caniac Combo, sub slaw for double Texas toast (I do this each time). Solidly large bigger than my middle finger to my wrist sized chicken tenders, super moist meat, delicious with the sauce. Fries were slightly crispy on the outside and did their job as a fried filler and you can never go wrong with their Texas toast.

What to say... my husband and I come to this canes half for the food, half for the entertainment…read more We never know what experience we'll have. Will our order come out right? Will it take 5 minutes or 15? Which high schoolers will we see today and what hot goss will they drop? Will they finally return to giving us plates instead of always packaging it to go? Today was a decent experience - the order was still wrong, but we got extra sauce instead of no sauce. If you're looking for canes, this will do the job. Just make sure to double check what they give you. Also, sit outside since the inside is freezing!

The service is fast and impeccable, the food is delicious and filling, and we highly recommend this establishment at Dry Creek and University ... near the ARC. That's what you expect when you're paying barbecue prices. Sadly, none of that showed up here. The brisket and burnt ends were the biggest disappointment. Instead of having that dark bark and beautiful smoke ring you expect from meat that's been smoked low and slow, everything looked gray and lifeless. There was no smoke flavor, no seasoning, and worst of all, the meat was dry. Not slightly dry, but the kind where you need sauce just to get it down. Burnt ends are usually the highlight of a barbecue meal, crispy outside with juicy, tender meat inside. These were just dry chunks with no caramelization or flavor payoff. The sausage didn't help things either. Overall, nothing about the meal felt homemade or smoked. It felt mass produced and rushed, missing the flavor and texture that make barbecue special in the first place. What made the experience even worse is the price. Spending around $40 on a pound of meat, expecting quality barbecue, and getting dry, bland food instead. For that price, you expect memorable barbecue, not something you regret ordering halfway through the meal. The food was so disappointing that I ended up throwing most of it away and going somewhere else afterward just to get a decent meal. That's something I almost never do, especially after paying premium prices.

The cashier was efficient and the associate who gave me my food made sure everything was correct. My order was a double double animal style with extra grilled onions. If you've never had In-N-Out the double double is two patties of meat with two pieces of melted American cheese, fresh iceberg lettuce, tomato and spread on a delicious bun. Animal style adds mustard on the patties, extra spread, pickles and grilled onions. I also sprung for animal style fries well. The well means the fries are cooked a bit longer than normal. In-N-Out does use fresh potatoes so they're made to order. They have Coke products and usually go for that or fresh iced tea. Today I sprung for a Neapolitan shake, which is chocolate, strawberry and vanilla mixed together. A delicious meal and I'll be back again.

I asked that they adjust from dine in to carry out and they did great. There weren't spots to be had to sit anyway. Unfortunately, the animal style burger seemed cold as did the animal style fries. Let's face it, their fries kind of suck. Even with all the stuff on them they weren't much better. The special sauce doesn't have the zing of Mickey D's. I don't think I'll be going there again. We don't have them in the Midwest where I live, and I'm okay with that. Over hyped.
