The station has a two bay garage attached. As I pulled into the station I ran over one of those old hoses that ring a bell inside. Out comes a grizzled, old station attendant to pump my gas. Of course, he had to take my credit card inside to run it - no pay at the pump here. I asked to use the bathroom and was told - you guessed it - that it was outside. I walked into the smallest bathroom that I have ever been in. It was disgustingly dirty and the fixtures were ancient - I half expected to see one of those rotating cloth towel things that used to be all the rage in the 70s. Take your kids to the Madison Hills Gulf before every gas station like this is extinct. There are not 16 pumps, no convenience store, no deli, and the bathroom makes you want to hold it until you get home, but I felt like I was taken back to my childhood hanging out the window of my parents Oldsmobile Vista Cruiser station wagon while they filled up the tank with leaded gasoline for $10.

The attendant gave a rude answer and mumbled something about her brain. He continued to shout about her brain as he walked away. Upon hearing this, I got out of the car and confronted the attendant as he repeated his derogatory remarks while he was clinching his fist. Rather escalate the situation further (where I would be at fault), I returned to my vehicle and drove away vowing never to return. I could not believe the rudeness this attendant showed to my wife. If I can find a corporate address, I would submit a formal complaint. As a word to the wise - proceed with caution.

The issues experienced at this location stem from the gas station attendants. Unfortunately for me, this location is located close to home and work, so it's the most logical spot for me to stop at when I need to fill up for gas. I've been here when the weather is sunny, raining, cloudy, hot, cold, etc. and the only consistent thing about the attendants at the pumps are their impatience and unkind attitudes. I cannot count the number of times I turned in to get gas and before I could even come to a complete stop, the attendant was banging on the gas tank for me to open it up from within the car. They always appear to be having the worst day possible, and who knows, maybe they are, but if I'm doing my best to be as kind as I can be and still receiving nothing more than a grunt, it's pretty disheartening. When you're done filling up, they pat the car and walk away without a single word...idk, it's just so unpleasant to be there. I actually try and go to different locations, whenever I can, just to avoid it. Meanwhile, inside the store, the employees are fantastic. It's like night and day between the two. They're not perfect, but they always try to do their best and I want that to be acknowledged since the good tends to be buried under the negative and that doesn't seem fair. Here's hoping the good can influence a change in the others.
