There are plenty of pumps and I've never found myself waiting for one, even when there is a storm in the gulf. But RaceTrac is more than just gas. If you need snacks for the road stopping here just makes sense. They have hot and cold sandwiches, boiled eggs, string cheese, hot sausage links with buns and all the condiments you want, chili, nachos...you get it. You see it, you like it, you want it, they got it. The drink options here are endless as well. In addition to great fountain drinks with the best ice choices they carry just about every drink you might want. I found Diet Barqs here in a 16 oz bottle and I never see that anywhere. Are you a Froyo lover? Then you're in for a treat with Swirl World. Not only is it delicious, they have all the toppings you'll see in a place that only does Froyo. New RaceTrac stores seem to be popping up all over the place and I'm not complaining about that.

Ahhh Baton Rouge, you know your city/town has made it when a Costco is located there…read more I always stop here whenever staying or passing through Baton Rouge due to the gas. But while staying here, I do stop in to mosey around and see what products/items this location offers that's unique to other locations. The difference is they have some LSU memorabilia and a few Louisiana condiments and beverages you can't find elsewhere. As always, there's all the grocery aisles which consist of the bulk items from the deli and bakery. And of course, those hot items such as the rotisserie chicken and rack of ribs. Cold items including the wraps, cocktail shrimp, salads, and the ready-to-eat meals adorn this place too. I'll sometimes grab one of the meals and let it last for days whenever I'm on travel and staying in one of the hotels around. Since this Costco has been open for several years, it's evident there's some wear and tear around the warehouse. The parking lot can be a bit dirty as well so check your surroundings when here.

I believe Seth Rogen said one of his favorites of New Orleans was Brother's chicken. No joke. I live within spitting distance of this place and come here often not just to gas up but to get a 3 piece chicken tender with fries for ~$6 or a 3 piece mix with fries for about the same price. If you go in here almost any time of day or night, there's a small line. On Sundays after church let's out you'll see people walking out of there with 25 piece boxes. And it's non-stop. They also have kabob's, meat pies and other good stuff. If they're out of something, they'll make it up fresh for you. Plus it's a fully stocked mini-mart and liquor store. You can get your fill on junk food, beer, liquor, smokes and everything bad for you all in one small place. The family that owns this place is from El Salvador so they stock a lot of chips and snacks from their native country. I buy all of it as I love to try new things. They have a cooler with Mexican cokes right next to the case of Mad Dog 2020's. They have soda for 99 cents any size, icee's, and a walk in cooler for beer. Not being from here, a colleague explained to me that the local gas station almost everywhere in Louisiana always has good food. It's a place where people would go to congregate and get the local gossip and news, before the internet and even mobile phones, it makes sense. Even after the advent of modern conveniences of you reading this review on your phone in the car, going to a gas station to get food is what we do here. Other places may be not so, but here, some of the best food are in the least likely of places like a gas station, read some of my other reviews of other gas stations of similar faire. So if you're in the area and you want some good fried chicken and you can't get into the tiny parking lot at Blue Store, and you're tried of Popeye's, or it's late at night and you don't want to go to Louies or Waffle House, you've just gotten out of the bar and you've got the munchies come here, you won't be let down.
