But seriously, spicy fried chicken and western style fries any time of the friggin day or night. The chicken is actually pretty damn good. I believe Seth Rogen said one of his favorites of New Orleans was Brother's chicken. No joke. I live within spitting distance of this place and come here often not just to gas up but to get a 3 piece chicken tender with fries for ~$6 or a 3 piece mix with fries for about the same price. If you go in here almost any time of day or night, there's a small line. On Sundays after church let's out you'll see people walking out of there with 25 piece boxes. And it's non-stop. They also have kabob's, meat pies and other good stuff. If they're out of something, they'll make it up fresh for you. Plus it's a fully stocked mini-mart and liquor store. You can get your fill on junk food, beer, liquor, smokes and everything bad for you all in one small place. The family that owns this place is from El Salvador so they stock a lot of chips and snacks from their native country. I buy all of it as I love to try new things. They have a cooler with Mexican cokes right next to the case of Mad Dog 2020's. They have soda for 99 cents any size, icee's, and a walk in cooler for beer. Not being from here, a colleague explained to me that the local gas station almost everywhere in Louisiana always has good food. It's a place where people would go to congregate and get the local gossip and news, before the internet and even mobile phones, it makes sense. Even after the advent of modern conveniences of you reading this review on your phone in the car, going to a gas station to get food is what we do here. Other places may be not so, but here, some of the best food are in the least likely of places like a gas station, read some of my other reviews of other gas stations of similar faire. So if you're in the area and you want some good fried chicken and you can't get into the tiny parking lot at Blue Store, and you're tried of Popeye's, or it's late at night and you don't want to go to Louies or Waffle House, you've just gotten out of the bar and you've got the munchies come here, you won't be let down.

This poboy was excellent, the store was clean, and the staff was friendly. They have real New Orleans poboy bread, so kudos and kisses for that. I get my poboys dressed with mayo, lettuce, tomatoes, onions, cheese, and sometimes pickles (when I'm feeling picky). I noticed the hamburgers were popular so I'm going to try it next time. Ambience? This store is SUPER BUSY all the time, and that right there says it all. The community of regulars are all in good spirits and a highly popular niche-place for gas but moreso as a convenience fast food store! Staff are very polite also & constantly working. There's also a fountain drink machine and a slushie machine too. They also sell stuff like deodorant, detergent, combs, etc. just for those who don't want to travel all the way to Walmart or Target for it. There's also a nice variety of liquor and cigarettes behind the counter, but be sure to have your I.D. because they do check. But the best part of this place is the wings that are freshly made. These deep fried chicken wings are made from the owner's own recipe and has that southern flavor that I just love! Some other menu items available are poboys, chicken strips, fries, fried catfish and shrimps. These are just as delicious as the wings. A cool perk of the store is that you can call in and order what you want and they'll have it freshly made and ready for you when you arrive so you don't have to stand in the store and wait while it's cooking. The new owners are a family owned operation. They completely renovated the place with new freezers, bright lighting and a good selection of soda, beer, fresh meats and to-go hot food. For under $5 you can get a hand made burger with fries. If you're lucky, you can get an 8 piece fried chicken for $3.50!!!! No joke, or 5x 2 Liter sodas for $5. I love that they have a killer selection of soda and energy drinks that is double or triple that of the average mini-mart. I love variety, I'm thrilled that they have a falafel burger on the menu. Probably only place in BR that has this. Po'Boys are made to order and include a soda with fries. The family tries really hard to make things right when custom food orders are made.
